Really sad to see Hugh growing older, because I don’t want a time when he isn’t with us. Legend that he is.
I was a bit shocked to see how old he looks.
That hurts me right now. I'm re-watching 7th season of house m.d.
I watched 2017 video at first time and I thought by myself, that's ok, he lost some hear. But 2022 he's lookin like an old man 😢

He was 63 when that was filmed. Some people age prematurely. My ex-husband is 64 but looks 45. I always get mistaken for someone who is at least 18 years younger. Age is just a number.

What I liked, 1. Stephen recognised that he'd behaved like a jerk, and 2. Hugh Laurie's awesome humourous response 🤣
At first I thought Stephen was going to say that BB had notified him that they, in fact, had made an error…that, in fact, the delivery had NOT been made. 🤪

Really was a dick move of Stephen to ask for thanks for a gift... on air. Rather like his catholic god, demanding praise. Hugh sure gave him some perspective.
You've completely misinterpreted what's gone on here.
1) Stephen was deliberately acting like a jerk.
2) Hugh appreciated the bit so much, that's why he wrote all the cards.

@@JoshuaTootell it’s ‘A Bit of Fry & Laurie’, but yes, he should. As well as Blackadder the Third, Blackadder Goes Forth and Jeeves & Wooster, featuring him and Stephen Fry. All giving wonderful examples of his sense of humour and the amazing cast of writers he worked with back then. Hugh Laurie is so amazingly talented.

Not what House would do but it would have been a sketch from "A Bit Of Fry and Laurie" ( a comedy show written and presented by Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie from 1989 to 1995) which not enough Americans have seen.
It's amazing that he actually read them all. I was sure they'd stop, but they just kept going. With every card I grew more confused yet loved the bit even more.

I still can't tell whether he actually wrote all those, or if it was a bit the show writers prepared for him. (Kinda like their signature "first drafts" bit) Hilarious either way.

@@rsr789 lol it's ok, a lot of us in America have no idea about his comedy history because House was such a big show. As a teenager I watched a lot of IFC and Sundance channel (those were 2 of the indie film networks we had on cable here in the US, before streaming we had indie tv and film on cable) so I watched way more British sketch comedy than a lot of Americans who have seen House. I don't know how it is in the UK but most people where I live in the US have no idea that he does comedy...even though he's funny in House like all the time.

The first 4-5 seasons were pretty rough to watch. Very samey, bland characters. I liked when they took a turn and decided to develop the characters.

I’m currently reading Hugh Laurie’s book (The Gun Seller) and from time to time I have to laugh audibly even if there are people around. He has such a brilliant mind. One of my favourite people on entertainment ever. Can’t wait to have the time to watch his new show

This reminds me of the British TV show TASKMASTER, where host Greg Davies was sent one anonymous 'cheeky' text by one contestant, Mark Watson, daily for six months, only to discover later on that he was the only one assigned this 'task'.
And then he didn't get the points because he missed one! I was livid when Greg did that! Poor Mark 😭

I have been listening to Stephen Fry read his autobiography 'The Fry Chronicles' and he tells of meeting Hugh at university and they became the comdey writing team we know and love so Hugh has got comedy pedigree and is naturally funny.
This brought back memories of the delightful “Jeeves & Wooster” series. Love Hugh Laurie & Stephen Fry.

This is INSANE, beard or no beard, 20yr/40yrs or 60yrs he's crazily insatiable. Love all his work and all his acting characters, but by far the best character and my most favourite is the one he has been playing for over 60 years and that is Hugh Laurie - and to top it off he's a fantastic musician - he even inspired me to learn the Piano (a long lost dream) - at 59 I have never ever touched a piano and now I am on the most incredible journey of my life - thank you!. America is so lucky to have you there don't forget to come back soon though, and Stephen your show is a joy to watch.
