Hugh’s remark regarding his relationship with Stephen Fry really touched home. So often we don’t know the value of what we have until it is no longer available. Bless you both for valuing your friendship in its own time!
He's just so damn real! Not a pretentious or sanctimonious bone in his body. The world seems a better place for having this beautiful man in it. Wish I'd discovered him years ago.
He’s so calm, humble, and enlightened…my god I could hear him talk for hours without getting bored. He’s such an inspiration to me, I wish someday I could have someone like him in my life.
Watching House as a teen has definitely affected my career choice of a scientist (not yet, but will be one!) and I felt thrilled and exhilarated to hear Hugh Laurie say that he has got respect or even reverence for people who pursue those things. Now I know I’m not quitting easily. Thank you Hugh Laurie. Love you.
Simply one of the loveliest, modest and witty man ever. His partnership with Stephen Fry was just fantastic, his novel was fantastic and House was one of the best shows ever.
Did y'all notice Hugh appeared to be limping somewhat during his extended entrance & exit? I recall reading he had difficulty "losing" the limp after the show ended. He even saw a physical therapist to help him "relearn" his normal gait.
I love the fact that he comes from a comedy background, even silly humor, like mr. Nippl_e. And now he's famous for playing a character that only smiles at christmas.. He's brilliant both ways anywho..
This is weird. I've only ever seen Hugh Laurie as House and that's how I know him. Watching this I'm struggling to believe this is really Hugh Laurie instead of house pretending to be Hugh Laurie.... So weird!
haha. I'm the opposite. I only ever saw him in Blackadder and other comedy shows with Stephen Fry et al. When I saw him as House with a fake american accent, it was weird. A talented man.
He is an introvert Makes me think his out of body experience is normal and he did that so as to remove monotonous work He doesnt actually care about his 50th birthday This guy gives me existential crisis I miss House/Hugh
I watched house for the first time this April-May, 2021. I have not been so hooked to a TV series in a long while. On one hand I regret bot watching it when it aired, but at the same time I was so young then that I doubt I would have been able to appreciate it. Now after master's degree in biology and biotech whilst being wiser in general, both the medical and life-lessons make a lot more sense than it would have back then.
Not having seen House should be considered a crime. WATCH IT. Started watching a couple months go and I am totally hooked, right now I'm in Season 7 :D I can definitely say that House is my favorite tv-show character along witn Rust Cohle and Jean-Luc Picard.
Considering that his most successful role was Dr. House, I suppose that's also what you mean... Doesn't sound very nice to wish he was constantly suffering and miserable.
Before I began watching the house shows, I though, genuinely, that I'd hate it,because I get really uncomfortable about health issues even when it's not truly happening in reality, but! I began quickly to love the shows, I believe it is becoming something of an addiction! For the reason I think, that the actors are hilarious, thank you for this video!!!
I'm curious whether the time he turned up with a black eye and bust lip was written into the episode where Chase smacks him. He had the eye and lip in that one.
Not sure if that was the case in House M.D., however many shows do work like that. Since you don't want to lose time you instead write around the issue that the actors have.
@@PhascolarctosVU Well, I suppose those are subjective views of mine. But I was never awed by a concept I hadn't seen a few times before. It was funny more often than not though. Lost a bit for me when his original cadre of apprentices all moved off and were replaced. I could never really get on board with the "new team" he got after a few seasons. Though the selection process for them was funny.
Right... yes, the Interview may be from 2009 and all, but Twitter has only gotten worse over the years. Twitter (or X) is at its worst point ever right now. That doesn't make anything better about him using Twitter nowadays
ive seen Hugh laurie all my life in real time from The young ones to blackadder fry and Laurie etc and i watch him in House and even to me hes like a different person ,i just see him as House ,not Hugh putting an accent on
sorry, i never watched "house" because i can't stand listening to english folks try to do an american accent. for me, hugh will always be associated with "blackadder" - he was so damn funny on that.
It's probably one of the greatest TV series ever if you can properly get into it. Hugh's accent is so good that even the director didn't know he was English
“With the brain the size of a walnut” lmaooo he went to Cambridge didn’t he? Such a humble and a sweet man honestly. Love Hugh Laurie!
I thought about Cambridge as well when he made that comment. He is lovely & modest, as is Stephen.
Yer hes both very modest and very intelligent! Tom Hiddleston has talked about how insanely intelligent he is
He's the sexiest man alive
Pretty big walnut
Yes, definitely Cambridge
Can’t give Hugh enough thanks for the hours of entertainment he has given me.
Carole King is another of my favorites.

There's a series called " Fry and Laurie"

Not forgetting my favourite Fry/Laurie collaboration, Jeeves and Wooster which is also on RUclips.
@@irbennett I totally agree, bought the DVD years ago, it’s excellent.
Did y'all notice Hugh appeared to be limping somewhat during his extended entrance & exit? I recall reading he had difficulty "losing" the limp after the show ended. He even saw a physical therapist to help him "relearn" his normal gait.
Yeah, he actually struggled with his leg after House as the limp became real
I heard his knees got screwed from the limp and he needed surgery
@rrbaggett7 also you might want to consider that this was between the 4th and 5th season, so he'd have no reason to even TRY to lose the limp... ^^
Well, it's hard to pretend to have pain in your leg which causes you to limp... and then just drop that once he's away from set.
Weird that he jokes about having Fry as House's version of Mycroft, when just years later Stephen would actually play Mycroft in the Downey Jr movies
Just the one, otherwise the comment wouldn't have made much sense (since he'd have already filmed it when this aired)
House is something I can watch again and again - House reruns for life!
I love the fact that he comes from a comedy background, even silly humor, like mr. Nippl_e.
And now he's famous for playing a character that only smiles at christmas.. He's brilliant both ways anywho..

@@DoubleBread i did, he's awesomely talented!
He seems to be losing his British accent.

Even just doing an American accent for hours on end is amazing. I had no idea he was not home grown American.
Bello assai ❤
Bertie Wooster and Greg House - Hugh Laurie has covered the spectrum ends of character portrayals. So talented.
He is an introvert
Makes me think his out of body experience is normal and he did that so as to remove monotonous work
He doesnt actually care about his 50th birthday
This guy gives me existential crisis
I miss House/Hugh
Well, after some time you do usually give 0 crap about your birthday. It's just a number increase closer to having more medical problems.
I love Hugh Lauire and his close relationship with Stephen Fry!
I just love Hugh Laurie & Steven Fry’s friendship !
I keep forgetting how funny Hugh Laurie is, I don't know why.
Funny and charming !
He is a comedian originally
English is not my native language I almost learned them all on youtube and drama. And House MD helped me so much in the medical stuff. Grateful.
The full beard is a good look!
Stephen Fry as Geoffrey House, Greg's older brother... that sure would have been something!
I wish more people were signed up to the Shh network
OMG. Stephen Fry on House would have been such a treat.

Hugh Laurie - in his 20s - not hot at all. In his 30s - not hot. In his 40s - hot! in his 50s - DAMN HOT !! in his 60s - handsome old man.
Is that the piano on his cd cover??
omg!! I didn't think of that! It's possible...
I was about to say the same!
I've never seen "House" but I sure love Hugh Laurie in every other show he's done in the past, including his piano playing and singing.

Is that the little piano and stool he's sitting on for his album cover of 'Didn't It Rain'?
I believe it is. I saw this episode and quickly connected it to the album cover also.
Funny, Stephan Fry played Sherlock's brother
Yeah, it's actually funny how Stephen literally played Mycroft, so they could've totally done something similar with House.
Filmed a whole decade ago.
Quite sure it also AIRED a whole decade ago. ;-)

Damn... would've loved to have seen a Mycroft House.
Edit: And even better if it had been Stephen Fry!
I'd sacrifice a thousand virgins for that
Hugh Laurie , I love you !!! Love from Karin van duuren
He was great in the blackadder too before House!! 👏🏻👏🏻
And in A Bit of Fry and Laurie, and most of all for me: Jeeves & Wooster!
I remember him from stuart little
House MD is bloody great. It's not super deep or written genius. But it blends drama, soap and a bit of comedy really well.
Are you kidding? It has moments of super deep as well as high hilarity. Sometimes in subsequent minutes.

I’m would have enjoyed Stephan Fry as a sort of Mycroft to Hugh Laurie’s Dr House.
Hugh Lurie and Cantona, wow

Jonathan Ross and Jimmy Fallon are separated by the Atlantic Ocean but united by their self absorbed hosting styles.
Stephen Fry called?!!
I wish they had included the clip from the show. Licensing rights, I guess.
Doctors find truth. Hahaha. O bless Hugh. He thinks medical doctors are clever. They just did what the actor did. Remember what they were told.
It would have been so awesome if Stephen Fry did come on House as the cleverer older brother.
It would have been a disaster.
