I have NEVER missed a character as much as I miss Dr Greg House. He felt so relatable & damaged. But the thing that made the show endless, was the way they portrayed PAIN. So many ppl around the world are in pain, & no one has better yet addressed this subject that has until now, been shunned away from TV & Film. And I'm not talking about the cheesy goth brooding psychological pain. I mean true physical pain that doesn't go away. Ever. Huge Laurie is one of those hidden treasures, like Robin Williams, who is miscast in Goofty, temporary, roles playing a stupid character for giggles. And yet when they play a serious role, they have the power to bring you to tears.
Only House does this. Sorry, but as good as Games of Thrones is, I am not going to cry over a dragon!! House, like all of us, feels lost, fragile, fed up, exhausted, & yet has to be brave enough to connect with other people just enough to do his job, & take pleasures where he finds them. Miss him so so much.

As a chronic pain patient, I agree w/you completely. I have not seen *all* of House (Thankfully, my Library is awesome, so I plan on starting over from the beginning), but I remember what you're talking about. I saw the show before I had chronic pain, but those parts of the show come back to me now, on occasion. I wish there were more shows that depicted what I go through, but thank whatever for accurate portrayal of how complex it really is. You're right-House nailed it. Props to them for addressing the subject at all, let alone how ahead of their time they were. Cheers

It’s so strange that after eight years and over one and and half million people watching this video, there are so few comments on the musical talents that Hugh Laurie keeps mostly to himself.
I’ve seen a few piano pieces on Jeeves and Wooster, but I bought this album as soon as it came out (many years ago, now).

I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. Hearing Dr. House say" Sarcoidosis fits" on the show was great. No one I knew had heard of it, an difficult to explain. Since you can't see it, an they never heard of it, most people acted like it wasn't real 😤. Anyway, love Hugh as House.Hugh seems an excellent human and with oh so many talents, acting, piano player, singer, and hes funny too! The man has it all. And also easy on the eyes and very good voice.

Just hearing him talk and saying "I can't imagine why it's so popular since it's such a densely worded show" and I just thought: well I guess different aspects of it appeal to different audiences. I remember when I was a kid (around 8/9) I accidentally saw an episode and I didn't even understand anything that was going on yet it intrigued me, the case, how it happened etc and this was like way in the show (definitely somewhere between season 5-8) and that made me remember it 10 years later. Because of that one episode I wanted to watch the show for years...till I finally did (almost finished season 4)

      He’s too young unless it’s a prequel!

Started watching House for the first time this year. I've been having a proper binge watch, and am now on season 8.

He's such an amazing actor. I can't see him as Hugh but as House. It's hard to remember that he is in fact Hugh and not House.

but subtitle is still translation, and you then still lose the word jokes etc from it often.

Obviously it gets subtitled, but a decent amount of Flemish people understands English well enough not to need the subtitles and get the jokes.

Well, it’s been awhile, eh? 2019... I’m rewatching the show, again, for the 3rd time in two years. I miss you House, Cuddy, Cameron, Chase, Wilson, Thirteen. Fuck, I miss all of you so much. Happy new year.
