The other part that has to be remembered is that this is the first time he’s EVER been held accountable.
Until now, he’s had lawyers/judges excuse him from punishment.
Those lawyers/judges are now either dead, very old, or in as much trouble as he is.
If he hadn’t been president, he might have continued to be excused.
But he was, and the general public knows he was excused, and not allowing any more.

It also goes to show just how _small_ his own mind is. How myopic and simple his conception of reality is.
He resorts to extreme hyperbole all the time....because he doesn't understand nuance or degrees or relative difference. Because he doesn't know _anything_ about...anything. He's never read a book. He has no understanding of any aspect of the world. And so, everything he experiences....he interprets as being the archetypal example. It's main character syndrome taken to existential absurdity.

That 96 year old was either 16 or 17 years old on June 6, 1944, when D-Day happened. That’s both impressive and horrifying.
I think the odds are surprising. Not only to survive such a hellish day but to also be healthy enough after the whole war to live to 90+.
My dad fought in WWII, but died at age 64 of cancer. I wish he was still here, he'd be so proud of President Biden🇺🇸💙🇺🇸

There were quite a few guys that lied about their age to serve - a lot of the REALLY young ones went into the Navy though, as it was easier for them to get in there with their smaller stature and physique.

My dad would have been 103 if he were alive today, and he was already in Europe long before D-Day. He and his brother were 19 and 17 when they joined the Canadian military (army & air force) in 1939 and went off to fight for our freedom in Europe along with a million other Canucks (a million may not sound like many....but....we only had a population of 10million at the time)...yes fully 10% of our total population volunteered to go overseas to fight for what was (and is) right!!!
Eighty years ago, many young soldiers from all over the world came here, to fight with (for) us and get back our freedom. On Thursday, we remembered and honored them. Forever grateful to the americans Heroes. Merci. 🇫🇷❤️🇺🇲

Technically D-Day was not the turning point. Most of the German army was defeated on the Eastern front by the Soviets. But....Russia is kinda evil nowadays, so I guess we don't talk about that.

Technically, D Day was a turning point. Things were grinding away on the Eastern front and D Day established a western front. Brother in law grew up in the Soviet Union and while the USSR is centered in the narrative, the Soviets acknowledged the importance of the opening of another front
(Interestingly, the Soviets virtually ignore the existence of the war in the pacific.)
We really need to remember the ones who died for our country and the very few that are still with us. Soon there won't be anyone left. We will honor them forever.

well, in honesty, there was great people on both sides. Soldiers are pawns.
The average soldier, on both sides, were just fighting for their country.
These were often "kids" in their late teens and early twenties. They didn't really know much about history and politics of the time. They were just doing what they saw as the patriotic thing. Although, many of them had no choice in the matter.

I wish you could grasp and understand what I was told from these people who were actually there. However, that would take at least a book, if not a series. A comment section simply will not cut it.
