      Okay, I haven't watched much of this season because what I've seen was utter garbage, but didn't House treat Foreman WORSE than he did Cuddy when she was dean of the hospital? Like, he focused SO hard to troll and undermine Foreman like when he ordered that garage door thing built in his office, of even in this finale the whole flushing down the tickets thing that destroyed part the hospital including THE THIRD MRI machine in the series, how is this respect for Foreman after he got him his license back and out of prison on parole??

      I could also see House being willing to submit a false positive with the cancer thing to Wilson. Though Wilson may know cancer from a medical standpoint, he can be easily duped. He can convince himself he has 4-6 months to life based on the average expectancy and go with it. After 6 months House would reveal to him he really doesn't have cancer and say something along the lines of "You worry too much, I just convinced you that you have cancer and we had fun for several months!"

    • @xardas149
      @xardas149 7 месяцев назад +20

      @@sheenamustard3866 That would depend on what he wants. Especially in the American justice system a good laywer with a good witness can do some pretty magic ina courtroom. House wanted to be punished for the car thing, but if he truly wanted back into medicin he would find a way. Some years jail might await him still, but afterwards it is just the medical board to get his license. Some of them even may have known Wilson personally. He faked his death to be at the side of his friend, a doctor who went above anything to be there for his cancer patients. Wilson deserved this so it isnt that hard for a person smart like House to emotionally manipulate people to forgive him. Talking of manipulating is maybe a bit harsh, because after all he did it for Wilson and it is basically an honest appeal to their humnaity.
      Maybe he never gets over his grief and kills himself. He was "mentally" kinda there in the fiery building. He bounced back, but it is unclear if it finaly truly clicked for him.
      I doubt he would do the dark matter stuff. House might be intrigued by the "ultimate" puzzle, but it is also very likely not to be solved by him/his lifetime and him running into intelectual dead ends wont give him the kicks his junky attitude craves.

    My theory for why House revealed the truth to Foreman: Yes, partly because he saw most of himself in him and respected him but also beacuse Foreman witnessed his death. Foreman thought House could have escaped and chose not to and witnessed the whole thing, that's a huge thing to live through, and House knew it's not right to do that to a "friend".

    • @BerserkCD
      @BerserkCD 7 месяцев назад +187

      If anything really, House saw himself in Chase. Chase took over the department not just because he had the most time there, but Chase's methods and mentality were almost identical to House. I do agree he left it to give him closure as a friend.

    • @Svensk7119

      Foreman inherited House's position first.

    • @jonstephenson9660
      @jonstephenson9660 7 месяцев назад +107

      Forman picked up the baton when it fell. He held the position in his absence.
      Chase was passed the torch. Chase is literally House’s replacement. There’s a whole video of Chase mirroring House over the course of the series including a scene where House explicitly says he’s working to make Chase a better version of himself.
      That said, I think the “he witnessed the whole thing” is a strong point and likely did play a big factor. Additionally, Forman saved Wilson, by physically restraining him when wanted to rush in and save House.
      And despite his connection with Chase, I think Forman is the one he respected the most. Which also likely played a role in his decision to reveal his last trick.

    • @xardas149

      @@BerserkCD Foreman had some traits of House but Chase was always more like house and had more of the "well that works, why not" acceptance of House. We know despite the jokes, Chase was never a bootlicker. He geniously found House funny and were cool with him.
      Look at his unbroken trust in House after the stabbing in the interview with foremands former boss. Their "heart to to heart" after Chase punished House just to get the rest of his back, House respecting the hussle etc.
      Foreman always had down what was "right" even if risky which got "honed" by working for house with cuddy at the helm. He took actions like the crazy move with the 2 black brothers etc, but if you paid close attention he was never the guy with the crazy solution/idea. That was chase very often.
      It makes sense that Chase becomes House 2.0 and Foreman becomes Cuddy 2.0. The mad genious and the qualified guy who knows what is right and even if crazy, has the judgment when to trust the mad genious.

      Didn't just witness it, Foreman was the one who was going to report house and send him back to jail which everyone assumed is what drove him into a downward spiral ending in his death. He absolutely would have blamed himself on some level. Foreman's also the only character who was with house across the entire show and even filled in when House had to leave. They certainly weren't friends but they were somehow closer than friends. Foreman wasn't just offering platitudes when he said he loved House at the funeral.

      Thirteen, how long did she live on for? Did House help her euthanize?
      Did Chase hire back thirteen, what happened to Cameron, did they become friends again?
      That's only a handfull, I think at the same time the ending was really well put together, but also it left me with an abundance of questions

    The age comparison in itself is so obvious LOL First episode of the first season and final episode of the final season, you can absolutely see the growth, the maturity and the experience written all over their faces, in every wrinkle, every facial features, every strand of hair and in their mannerism. I used to have arguments with mates about the finale:
    They would say “He admitted He’s dead” and I would say “Hyperbole”.
    House is literally the modern Sherlock, just as complicated and messed up but also equally a genius.
    House & Wilson kicked on until Wilson passed from cancer.
    But at least House wasn’t ruining anyone elses life as a result of Him being present anymore - which is something of a reoccurring issue throughout the series that typically, he’s too late to realise the fault made.

      Sherlock Holmes finally defeated Moriarty by faking his own death. House MD is supposed to be Sherlock Holmes. That's where they got the inspiration for the series. Most cases on the show are real life cases doctors submitted papers for after the fact. They're public domain you can find most of them if you look hard enough. They're obviously very dramatized though.

    Funny story, could be one of the most miraculous thing I witnessed.
    It was one day I just finished watching The Mentalist, my then favorite show. Wanted a new thing to watch, and randomly clicked on this interesting medical show. Lo and behold, the first episode opened with Robin Tunney, who played Lisbon in The Mentalist. Thought I was crazy and went even crazier when I realized I did in fact pressed play on an entirely new series and not a new episode of The Mentalist. I’ve never received a clearer message.
    Never have I felt something was so perfectly made for me other than that moment. I knew then I’d love the show and here I am six years later still loving it, maybe even more as I’ve grown. Watching the first clip made me so emotional, it brings me back to that feeling when I first discovered it. That disbelief of seeing someone you’re so familiar with in something completely new. Then comes the adoration with all the new characters and this new life you’re told.
    House will forever be that show for me, coincidentally, like my home. Everybody lies but this one comes from the heart, kudos to the House MD team for keeping the story alive 🥂

    You know, as much as I absolutely loved the first 5 seasons, I never ended up finishing the series. Season 7 was so terrible, then the start of 8 seemed like more of the same, so I stopped watching. Never knew how it ended until just now, watching this. Wish we could have gotten the finale just a couple seasons sooner.
    I remember watching a special features commentary on the show. They were celebrating the 100th episode which, coincidentally, was in the back half of season 5. I forget who it was, but one of the people involved in the show said that it was an important milestone, as it makes syndication so much easier. It really feels like they let it slide afterwards IMO.
    I will forever be thankful to House for getting me through a hard time: the passing of my grandfather. He and I were close, and I often modelled my life after him. One week of his passing, I watched the season 5 finale, and was introduced to the song As Tears Go By. Really hit me, listening to that. I would go for daily walks in the evening for months, listening to that song, and thinking of my grandfather. I don't even know what the song was meant to be about, but to me it was about loss and the passing of time. Sounds like a sad thing to do every evening, but for me it was cathartic.

    And in the end, after all that show where everyone knew House and who he was, in the end his friendship with Wilson was more important than anything. His career, his apartment, his leg pain, his vicodin, his whole life. House prided himself on his logic and rationality. To him, this was a rational decision, and given how much everyone, including his friends, seemed to annoy and enrage him, in the end he proved that people actually are the most important elements of his life. When the choice is between your life and your friend's last five months, you go with your friend's last five months.
    It brings full circle the whole show's central premise that despite it all, despite seeming to hate them and thinking they were the worst part of his job and day, people matter to House. They were always his foremost concern.

    House treated his first onscreen patient because of Wilson, then he "dies" because of Wilson again. At the Wilson was House's motivation to have some humanity. It's sad that they didn't even bring Lisa Edelstein for the funeral scene

    I don't think people get that the end of House MD is a happy ending. The most selfish, egotistical, miserable character who hates everything and everyone sacrificed his life and career to spend a few months with his best friend. Now that's a character arc.

    I have a grown engineer son, who is autistic and much like House. He even looks like House. He married a special ed teacher who “gets” him. This brave lovely woman made him more human and taught him empathy and love. Watching House used to make me chuckle because I could often see my son in his outsmarting everyone around him antics. Mr. Laurie surely deserved an Emmy…the whole crew did.
