    Awesome lookin van. Love the project. I have a 91 p30 I'm converting right now.
    A little tip though, I see soo many videos that are hard to watch due to the fact I think people forget they're videoing and just move the cameras way too fast and way too much. Let people see what your showing them. If you just move very slow and very fluid like your videos will be movie quality
    👍Also be sure to focus on a whole area and not single items like door handles etc. Hope this helps. Keep up the good work.

    Hey nice van. I have an 1987, that was turned into an ice cream truck. Would love a few pointers like where you got your mirrors and what size tires do you have on your truck.

    Curious what is your cruising speed. I have an 80 292 stick and it will pull a barn down. But she is whistling at 55 mph.

    • @ChristopherTrybus
      @ChristopherTrybus  4 года назад

      I can get her to 65 no problem but running at 4200+ on the tachometer-I can watch the fuel needle moving. My thought was to modify the 4 speed sm465 transmission that is in it by removing the first gear (which is a “Low” gear) shifting the 1,2,3 gears forward and adding a 4th gear for cruising. I’m looking for more information about that though. Haven’t had much time to get into it.

    I'd put a Chevy small block with a automatic Turbo 400 trans or the Chevy overdrive, probably could find those VERY cheap or get new crate stuff.

    Looks good! How did you do your floors over the transmission? I have a rusted out floor support beam that I'm replacing on our P30 food truck, and wondering if that's supposed to be one solid cover that goes over the floor. Love what you did with that paint. Is that a satin?

    • @ChristopherTrybus
      @ChristopherTrybus  5 лет назад +1

      I haven't installed any flooring or carpet. I kept the original diamond plate aluminum cover. I have epoxied the cab interior floor though. I Stripped it down to bare aluminum with a grinder and cup brush then cleaned it with acetone. I then coated it with 2 part epoxy and several coats of rustoleum. Watch my vids on pulling the engine for the rebuild and re install, that should give a view of the floor opened up. The finish is a combination of satin and flat mixed together.

    where did you find the windshields at I have a 1975 Chevrolet p30 step van and can't find windshields

    • @ChristopherTrybus
      @ChristopherTrybus  3 года назад +1

      The windshields were on the truck when I bought it. If you need new ones, I suggest stenciling the opening with large construction paper and taking it to a local glass shop to be made. I priced new glass my self and unfortunately it was expensive.

    on your Carb, Issue did you adjust your Idle Air Mixture ?

    • @ChristopherTrybus
      @ChristopherTrybus  6 лет назад +1

      Yes I did. I've adjusted timing and checked air flow. I met a expert Grumman Olson mechanic who worked for one of the big delivery companies for almost 40 years and hes going to have a look at the truck. He's convinced that the motor is warn out and in need of a rebuild. Stay tuned for the video of his assessment.

    Sir are you trying to sell this ? And if so how much ?
    .

    • @ChristopherTrybus
      @ChristopherTrybus  6 лет назад +1

      I'm having the motor rebuilt and painted, new clutch and flywheel installed, new alternator, radiator and hoses. This plus everything else will make this tip-top. I'm thinking of keeping it for work/camper but I'd be willing to listen to serious offers over $15,000

    • @joblessalex
      @joblessalex 6 лет назад

      C Trybus Lol. My 97 only cost 3200. 82 can't be worth more.

    • @ChristopherTrybus
      @ChristopherTrybus  6 лет назад

      Awesome! I'd love to see it. I chose the 82 because I like the style this has and it's a good platform for mods. I don't post very often but as of right now this truck has undergone major work. I'm not planning on selling it, Im keeping it as a multi purpose vehicle but I'll listen to offers. Aside from it being very clean, the transmission and engine are being rebuilt, it has a new new rad, alternator, new brakes, brakes lines and master, 6 new heavy duty tires, steering box and pump, complete electrical overhaul, heater, frame stripped and epoxy coat, body is excellent. Also, new chrome, locks, mirrors, seals, washer pump, wiper motor rebuild, exhaust and paint. I'm probably forgetting a few things. In all intents and purpose this vehicle is like new. Thanks for watching stay tuned for more updates!

    How much was the windshield?

    • @ChristopherTrybus
      @ChristopherTrybus  6 лет назад

      MarxNutz y thanks for watching. I did not replace the windshield. I did take them in to a local windshield glass shop and they wanted somewhere around $200 per. I wanted clear glass without any green tint but they said they couldn't order them and would have to custom cut them. You may be able to find them somewhere for cheaper but I decided to spend that money on other more important things. Hope this helps
