Brilliant design is a huge understatement. I am a licensed and accomplished engineer with 47 years of experience. I know what I am looking at. The design throughout is genius. No question in my well-educated mind. Your work is genius. Good for you. You are the best design engineer in terms of step-van space. The very best. I am very good but could not accomplish what you have done. Pure genius.
"I shower once a week... which may not seem like a lot for people living in ...homes" hahaha "but for someone living on the road full time, it's ...adequate" I love it. Great video! Great RV!
You made me chuckle when you pointed out how cute your mini wood burning stove is. Your RV, is lovely and without any wasted space on the inside. If I saw this RV, I would have never been the wiser about the interior.
Out of all the Step Van Conversions I’ve seen, Dewaynes Van is the very best. Not only does he have all of the bells and whistles of any great RV but he took the time and detail to make the interior living space look and feel like a home. The wood paneling and the earthy tones and color schemes make the inside feel like a lovely home or really nice cabin. I absolutely loved what he did with the space and style of vehicle he has chosen to convert into a mobile home. Excellent job!
All the vid's of DIY conversions I've been viewing from tear drops to buses....this is Definitely - to me one of the absolute Best. Very Simple set-up. Also importantly addresses the issue of a motorcycle(s). Not what I expected from the beginning. He's hanging the bike out back and not bringing it into to living area. This is a plus. Thank You Duane & SW/W.
After watching a few hundred tour vids, seeing something different doesn't happen very often. Hes got a couple of different things going on that I hadn't seen before.
Yes! The evap cool! Was happy to see that along w the 53gal freshwater and full shower. And it being a step van! Which we see often on this channel but not others in my experience!
@@SevenWanderstheWorld Thank you for showing me this option! I was hoping for a link about up above but didn't find one, so here's the one I found to help others to get info: www.turbokool.net/product-p/2b-0001-turbokool-swamp-cooler.htm
Now I want a lift gate on the back of my van. No question that is a great job. A shower, not usually part of the picture. It photographs like a mountain cabin. I'm impressed. I'm sure the photographer's skill goes a long way on how good this looks.
Dwayne built a fantastic, well thought out rig. Wonderful craftsmanship, and the motorcycle! This guy is living the dream. Seven, I always enjoy your RUclips wok, but this was one of your best!
Beautiful build; quite comfortable and homey. I was never certain about a step van, but seeing this, I believe I could be happy in one. I'll add them to my list of "sure, maybe!"
Wow!Outstanding.10x the build quality of a traditional RV and I'm sure thousands less. What an awesome purpose built rig. Well done video Seven, thank you.
If you ever see Dwayne again you'll need to congratulate him on behalf for a really clean build. It's a very nice balance of practical, frugal and comfortable.
This is really a wonderful home. This is what you call a home with the works. Duane you did an awesome job. Looks like an everyday vacation home. Thanks for the tour.
Duane, your van is amazing. I love the inside and really love the motorcycle transport space. You've given me some great ideas. Thanks for sharing. Be Well and Free!!
This is what I call truly living and riding free! Living the dream!! I'm wondering what the ceiling height is inside. Looks like he just has a few inches to spare. I am in love with this build! So well thought out and perfect use of space! It's just beautiful! I'm very envious! The fact that the motorcycle tows so perfectly in the back blows me away! I used to ride and have been telling my husband I want another bike. This makes it doable for me! We have every intention of retiring on the road in this manner. So glad I got to see this beauty!
That is such an amazing job that he did on his build (IKEA will be my best friend whenever I start on my build) LOL ... His step camper looks so comfortable to live in... he has everything... shower, A/C and heat.. (home sweet home) All he needs now is a door bell hahaha (just kidding) When I grew up in Va. I remember my grandmother had a wood burning stove in the living room... (it was large) and it worked really well. Duane can even put a bunk over his bed for grandchildrens to sleep if he has any... my plans are to have enough sleeping space to take my grandchildren on adventures with me when they are on school vacation. GOOD JOB DUANE :)
Fantastic step van conversion! As a rider I love the ability to carry your bike. My former partner welded old bed frames to the back our RV to carry our HD. Clocked lots of miles before he passed. Great solar system & wood stove & on demand water heater. It's all about the adventures in life; enjoy! 🏍😊
Beautifully done; love the use of natural wood everywhere, though personally I'd curve some of the sharp edges because I'm a klutz and tend to run into things. I liked the placement of the bed-- that's very cozy back there. Might be interesting to make one of those windows into an emergency hatch, only openable from the inside... The woodburning stove was very well mounted, and I loved the copper heat-reflector! Nice work.
It felt just like a house, wow! Great job, Duane!! Loved it. The wood panels are warm and inviting. I like your modular kitchen counter which lifts up for chairs. Really cozy and warm interior. You are a lovely man too! One thing I would change - Redo the propane stove install. You have wood on two sides of this stove and that is very risky so close to burners. Could start a fire easily. I would bring it out more and put firebrick tiles all around or ceramic tiles. Not wood. I would also swap out that weak stove for a Camp Chef Ranger II - 2 burner stove top. Each burner is 17,000 BTU compared to that puny Flame King at 7200 & 5200 BTU burners. Takes forever to cook and forget about stir fry.
This is an impressive build, the lift on the back for a bike being the most innovative thing I've seen so far, my own Luton Bodied had a tail lift but I only ever used that as a patio for summer relaxing. Now I know what my next build will have! (Last time I had my bike on a trailer, next time I'm copying this guy! ).
Wow this is so super nice and it's so nice of you to share this with us I got so many great tips from things you've already taken the time to figure out for us I think it's really cute how you said about the shower I lived in a camper for half a year to pay for the land that I was on and I found out I could can take half showers you know waist down showers and they can be cold that's how I got by haha and that's mostly because I was just too lazy to heat up the tank from my propane tank. a real work of art Duane thank you for sharing and have fun on that bike!!!
Wow very beautiful van! I like the door being near the drivers seat That is what I would want on mine as well as maybe one on the back but the front is more appealing. I love the contrast of light and where the wood is placed. It is very beautiful. Thank you Duane for sharing your beautiful home with us!
What a freaking great job Duane...seriously...I am now just starting the inside of my schoolie and boy oh boy did you make me think AGAIN about a couple of the "little things" that i thought i had all figured out already...lol...Wonderful job for you to travel in comfort and style...safe travels!
Hi guys, thanks for the great tour of your very well planned and executed step van conversion Duane. It seems to be a very comfortable, functional and nice looking space. That awning and shade screen practically doubles the living space and even the bike deck is multi purpose...I dig it! The off grid self sufficiency is extremely appealing to me as well, you can be anywhere and have all the comforts of home...so cool! I really enjoy these tours Seven, they're very informative and inspiring to me...keep 'em comin'! Happy trails folks. .......................PEACE!!
He has got a nice Step Van build, and double thumbs up on that water filtration system for drinking water since not many people have those in their vans.
The swamp cooler looks great for desert living. DIY desert swamp cooler?: Hang some wet tee shirts under a Fantastic Fan and spray the shirts regularly to keep them wet?
Hey Good Morning Seven! Wow! Thanks for sharing Duane's rig! He did a beautiful job! I learned many new ideas for future stuff! Thank you Duane! You guys enjoy the great weather there! Enjoy the coffee, savoring the moments! God bless!
I've been a full-timer years ago, but I don't want what I had then. I also don't want super cheap because I don't have to this time. I can do what I want. This video helps with a couple of my biggest issues. The liftgate, garage and type of patio awning are brilliant. Thanks so much.
lots of great options out there for DIY builds. I have a few other tours you might enjoy watching (like Brians box truck which also has a lift gate and motorcycle)
Second time commenting. You are amazing, so efficient not a wasted space anywhere. I have a 16 foot caravan self built. I love it however it does not compare to your home. What you have done is stunning in the best way possible. Thank you and good luck.
I know that UPS ripps out all of the AC on their trucks. AC is a gas sucker.. such a nice build out. I have to have a full shower and bathroom. I'm too old to be tucking behind a bush! Lol. Clever idea with the wood dowel trick. Love it.
actually most step vans come without AC. of the hundreds and hundreds of step vans I've seen, only a rare few have AC from the factory (mine never did)
I love this! Especially the little wood stove in the corner, and the copper heat shield for your stovepipe! That looks great! I could live in that comfortably! It's very nice!
I would have to get that front AC unit working! My RV is a beast to drive in the summer without one blowing cool air on me. Especially across the desert.
Thank you, Duane and Seven, for a great tour with many very useful ideas for those of us embarking on our own van builds. This is a very comfortable space, love the cubic mini stove. I hope to have one installed myself.
Excellent video there Seven and wonderful and creative build Duane has there!! Yes, that wood stove IS cute!! He can have an oven if he wants too as Coleman has a folding metal camp oven that would be perfect for muffins and cinnamon buns on cold nights!! Big enough for pizza too. Walmart has them online.

Your RV, is lovely and without any wasted space on the inside.
If I saw this RV, I would have never been the wiser about the interior.
it is a wonderful build!
Duane’s rig is cool. It’s cosy and neat, just like a cabin. Duane’s a cool man too.
That dowel and eyelet system for holding the doors closed is brilliant, simple but I never would have thought of that in a million years.
What a cool setup. I like the residential elements he put in. Kind of a cabin on wheels vibe.
Really nice conversion - so many favorites - love the wood burning stove - "Thank you" for sharing your home!
Duane, what a beautiful job you did! Happy travels Duane!
Lovely man and van.

his system makes it easy to move a giant bike like that
I don't understand why an RV company hasn't picked up on this it's perfect in every way for single people. I just Love it
Where is the toilet ?
@@floswason8776 Duane had a small shovel hanging on the back of the vehicle! 👍🕳 or 🪣. Easy solution for No 2’s! 😉
Shhhh! we have, we just dont want stepvan prices surging so we keep it on the hush hush!

agreed. love his lift gate and evaporative cooler

Wow!Outstanding.10x the build quality of a traditional RV and I'm sure thousands less. What an awesome purpose built rig. Well done video Seven, thank you.
Love seeing Tall Guy's builds. If I ever build my own, I will want a tall box or step van for head clearance purposes.
Duane did a nice job of building out his conversion. It is very cozy and functional with a cabin-like feel!

it is a beautiful build!
By far, the best box van conversion I've ever seen Seven! Thank you for sharing!
Duane resembles The Dude in all the best ways! Love it, and love his rig!
Wow, that guy's home is beautifully designed, I just love it. That was a well conducted interview, you just let him do it, wonderful, thank you.

it is an amazing build!

one of the step vans I toured earlier, built by Gabriel, did actually have a house door and door bell. but, Duane's rig is nicely built!

You, sir, are a steely-eyed RV man. Excellent work. Factories are incapable of that kind of quality. BRAVO!
Very nice. You'd never know you were inside a stepvan by that beautiful interior. It's nicer than some expensive tiny homes I've seen. Great work. 👍🏻
I believe step vans can be true tiny homes with an engine and rival the builds we all see on TV and RUclips

Duane ,what a hell of job you did ,home on wheels and your wife on the back porch ,your my new hero .PS . 5,3 chevy engine are great motors.
A very comfortable van to live full time! Stay safe!
You really did a good job on your step up van. I'm thinking about getting one for myself. Thanks for sharing and thumbs up 😊
Very nice conversion. I can see that after 10 years I may need to remodel my Grumman Kabmaster...So many ideas out there. Thanks for the tour guys!
I'm hoping to do more and more step van tours, so you'll have a variety of layouts to consider
Very cool tour and lifestyle , i would call that living the dream personally it appears the build out really. Fits your needs
I know that UPS ripps out all of the AC on their trucks. AC is a gas sucker.. such a nice build out. I have to have a full shower and bathroom. I'm too old to be tucking behind a bush! Lol. Clever idea with the wood dowel trick. Love it.

A good genuine guy and a great built. Well done brother
I love the garage. He has the same shelves as W42! Great ideas and build in here!
it is an amazing build; can't wait to see what you do with your interior!
What an awesome van Duane has and thanks so much for showing bro. All the very best
One of the best interiors I've seen, love the van idea too , durable.
I would have to get that front AC unit working! My RV is a beast to drive in the summer without one blowing cool air on me. Especially across the desert.
This the first one I have seen of the step vans. Looks very nice and sounds like the bed is very comfy.
I have 7 or 8 step van video tours on my channel in their own "play list". hope you'll check them out to see a huge variety in build styles
I'm going to watch this again--so many new ideas! The step van looks like a great option!
What a gorgeous home! He did a great job. Thanks for sharing Seven.
That is a great home, those curtains are everything
I love this van. No clutter, very practical.
This is shit you need a box truck if the truck go wrong you keep your box
Very nice. Thanks Duane and Seven!
Thank you, Duane and Seven, for a great tour with many very useful ideas for those of us embarking on our own van builds. This is a very comfortable space, love the cubic mini stove. I hope to have one installed myself.
I really want one of those stoves in my rig
