My wife has a used one. A 2012. We’ve had it for three years now. She bought it with 75,000 miles and it has 128,000 miles on it presently. We’ve had very good luck with it and the only thing that is left us stranded with it was when she accidentally ran it out of gas. She just made it through a blizzard with it. It’s been a great car for us. 10/10 definitely would recommend.
For those who think it's a sports car: Nah, this car is meant for those who drive a lot for work and don't want to spend too much money on gas. It's literally a commuter car. It gets the job done that is pretty much it.
@@LynxStarAuto Where I live there are a lot of crazy curvy roads and even if you drove a sportiest of sports cars you would rarely get up to 60. Think Monte Carlo if you watch WRC. So maybe my "sports car" requirements are probably different than yours. And most city vehicles are sub 100hp here in Europe so this is quite decent in performance.
Dad bought a premium model new in 2011 (first 10 in USA). Now, it's mine with 154k miles. Thing has been bulletproof. Still gets good mileage, survived Baltimore, and aged well enough to look good at my first corporate job.

The short answer is YES. These are among the best cars ever produced. It's a travesty that they didn't offer them with the Toyota Matrix engine and AWD drivetrain. They would have flown out the doors. The good part about Toyota's failure of marketing team is that they are fairly unknown and inexpensive to pick up. I bought one smashed in the front from auction with 6K miles on it back in 2016 for $11K, invested about $4000 to fix it and it now has about 80K miles on it and runs like a top. I'm seriously considering getting one with no motor and swapping a Prius Prime electric drivetrain in it. There was a company that had a method of hacking the Prius computer that allowed EV mode at all speeds and they were getting a tested average of around 100MPG with the hack in place. Sadly, the Internet has been stolen by big tech companies and the government and now it is pretty much dead. There isn't really anywhere to get uncensored knowledge anymore.
I own a 2011 CT 200 H. It has 140,000 miles and has been trouble free; in fact, I just replaced the rear struts for the first time last month. The front brakes lasted 50,000 miles and the rear brakes lasted 90,000. Only complaint… It has the acceleration of my old 1974 VW beetle. Sport mode helps a little bit.
This is by far the most popular lexus selling in Europe and I was really curious about your thoughts on this car cuz all the other reviews over here say that this car is crap cuz of the cvt and the lack of sportiness which this doesn't try to have, this segment is still popular here and the rivals of this car are diesels that use more fuel, have less power and don't even remotely come close to this car interior yet they cost the same on the used market cuz nobody buys lexus over here. Was not disappointed with your review you actually make the effort to format yourself to the type of car your reviewing and focus on what their built for and not the numbers, keep the good work

As an owner of a 2017 CT for several years, I can tell you you're wrong about 2 points - low grade gas is fine (it does NOT require premium) and it gets better gas mileage on the highway than in the city
Just lost my C class Benz in a T-bone, and in 2024 premium gas is still $5.49 a gallon where I live. Hence my interest in a quality made, good handling car that gets 43mpg. Went from my honda accord to 2015 ct i have to say very happy with it , a pleasure to drive , it won't win a drag race but no issues passing out cars .
My friend has a CT200h with the Lexus infotainment screen and it definitely makes it look better from the inside, but honestly, he enjoys it for the fuel economy, because he told me how much money he's saving because of this vehicle. Not the most luxurious like other Lexus vehicles, but that's not the mission of the CT, it's more of a commuter car that everyone will enjoy living with, but you'll still get respect for driving it because it's a Lexus.

Mine has heated seats with memory, parking sensors,10-speaker premium audio, and rain sensing wipers. I looked at an ES300h, but it was too big. Also, it's an "old man's car."
I think of the CT as an "old woman's car." Like a little old lady must drive that slow or some dude who used to have a Corolla stepping up to a Lexus floors the thing at every stoplight.

How roomy is it compared to a 2009 is 250 for the driver and passenger? I love this car, but i dont think i could go smaller than what the IS 250 has to offer.
When you were flooring it did you have it in sport mode? Sport mode makes a HUGE difference in power. I think the easiest will be to spot the badges between the front wheels and doors and the F sport steering wheel. It has a badge at the lower part and perforated leather on the sides.
It's a simple mix of Prius and IS. I own a 13 and it's been bullet proof thus far, if you don't mind the slow acceleration. Lexus gave me lifetime powertrain warranty that includes even the battery. I have 67k miles and haven't used it once.
This car is hella fun and with the right tires and in turbo is a blast. Handling is excellent. Self maintenance is amazingly easy. Hybrid batteries are not too pricey and you can find lifetime warranty options. One of the best cars I’ve ever had. The storage space moved my apartment all but couches. No regrets getting my 2015.
I want one. But I can't find one for sale in South Africa. Not a single one even though they sold a lot of them. Which either means they're all junk, OR more likely that the owners don't want to let them go.
Funny how everyone say's it underpowerd, people forget that the engine and electric motor combined produces 350nm of torque and i must say that i live in the netherlands and i dont have to deal with steep mountain roads so its mabey because of that i think it isnt underpowerd.
I love the looks of these. From a 500 HP Subaru to this is extremely boring but I am fine with it. It's reliable, it has amazing MPG, and it's cute. I love it.
I’m thinking about trading in my FBO GTI for one of these. It’s getting up there in miles and I’m spending too much on maintenance and about $150 a week on gas. Always liked the CT, but I know I’ll miss the hell out of my GTI 😢
Just bought a nebula grey and parchment 2017 ct200h with 14000 miles in Denver CO, so far I love it, I've gotten fuel effiency up to 50 mpg and it really is a great car. Paid about 21000 for it because of the low mileage which I think is about fair. It's a neich market that's for sure. This is my first car though, at 16, and it's sporty looking without being fast so my parents weren't afraid I would rack up tickets and with sport mode it just handles so well and is just fun to drive. I highly recommend!

Excellent review Kevin like always! It's crazy, the night before you uploaded I was just thinking "hey I wonder if kevin's gonna review a CT200h next?" I like the looks but your honest review further validates the niche market for these. When these cane out I thought they were based on the IS 😂😂
You used to catch these 3 y/o CT’s CPO with 30k for $19k After my dads civic lease he had his heart set on one of these, till he drove one, he did like how it drove, he liked driving the civic better. He ended up spending a little more and getting an ES350 and then he was impressed. CT still a good car, good economy, great quality and features, but it’s small and the drive could be better.
Bought a 2017 L/Certified with only 24k miles in May It is a great car, a little underwhelming interior wise for a Lexus. Wanting to get something bigger cause this thing is gutless in the mountains with just my wife and I. Can't imagine if we had friends and gear on a ski trip

With the new IS500 coming, a CT500 would have been awesome. I think the ct is styled great but the lack of engine options hurt its popularity/sales. I had this and a prius c at the same time (the ct is now with my sis) and this is way better of a commuting car. Of course the interior isnt even comparable.
the newer ones are 100% not worth it because its so dated compared to other cars that came out at the same time. the infotainment sucks and there are no modern safety features other than the backup cam from 2005. for the same price as the 2014-2017 models you can get a much better car. the 2011-2013 is however a good buy! great mpg and reliability.
I'm curious...why do you say that the 2011-2013 version is the better buy? I thought the mpg and reliability was the same across the board...unless there's something about the older models vs the newer ones I don't know about. I ask because I have a 2011 and somewhat regretted not going for a newer model.
@@EZee213 because the newer ones are overpriced. you can get a much better/newer car for the same price. the older ones though are much cheaper for practically the same car.

I wish that gentleman would comment or DM me haha but nah I'm definitely not famous 😅

1:40 Hatchbacks are a bit juvenile? Do you not know your auto history? Hatchbacks pre-existed the mini-van and was one of the original family wagons.
I don't think juvenile in this case has anything to do with auto history man
Hi there do you have to buy premium gas for this car doesn't act differently if you buy the regular regular gas ??
My biggest concerns about this car is the head gasket and the battery pack.
please make a video on whats the difference between a normal one and an fsport. and how should you detect if a non fsport model is moded into fsport just to grab you more money..
also... is it worth buying one of this for 15k euros with 120.000km¿
I think the easiest will be to spot the badges between the front wheels and doors and the F sport steering wheel. It has a badge at the lower part and perforated leather on the sides.
Looking to buy one 2012 120 k miles on it just concerned about battery life span and accelerating seems laggy whats your thoughts thanks
Get an ES
Would you recommend to buy a discontinued car?
These cars are still sold new in Europe (Jan. 2021).
It's a simple mix of Prius and IS. I own a 13 and it's been bullet proof thus far, if you don't mind the slow acceleration. Lexus gave me lifetime powertrain warranty that includes even the battery. I have 67k miles and haven't used it once.
Who would buy prius over this? This ct looks far superior. Who cares about practical
Would you recommend a 2011 CT with 127k Miles for $9k ?
Perhaps with a warranty
This car is hella fun and with the right tires and in turbo is a blast. Handling is excellent. Self maintenance is amazingly easy. Hybrid batteries are not too pricey and you can find lifetime warranty options. One of the best cars I’ve ever had. The storage space moved my apartment all but couches. No regrets getting my 2015.
Turbo?
There is no turbo…
Lmao
What are you, a bot?
Do you think it is better than same-priced IS?
I want one. But I can't find one for sale in South Africa. Not a single one even though they sold a lot of them. Which either means they're all junk, OR more likely that the owners don't want to let them go.
It still deserves a used CT200h from 2016 with 102526 miles?
Do you recommend buy a 2012 lexus ct with 175k miles?
No
No
Yes it's a rock solid car.
Why this one has not infotainment?
the Steering Wheel looks very modern like a 2019 Model from Lexus.
That's true! And actually this really came out around 2012 so I think they did a great job with the interior.
It's a prius without all of the negative prius comments. I love the styling
It’s not a Prius at all.3 different drive modes.
Is there any signal that shows I have to change battery
Just bought a nebula grey and parchment 2017 ct200h with 14000 miles in Denver CO, so far I love it, I've gotten fuel effiency up to 50 mpg and it really is a great car. Paid about 21000 for it because of the low mileage which I think is about fair. It's a neich market that's for sure. This is my first car though, at 16, and it's sporty looking without being fast so my parents weren't afraid I would rack up tickets and with sport mode it just handles so well and is just fun to drive. I highly recommend!
That's awesome and great price congrats
You got a Lexus at 16??
I don’t know why I busted out laughing when the guy in a Porsche honked at you😆😆
Are these good realible cars need one for taxi
Only If You Can Find A Certified Pre Owned One from A Lexus Dealer.,W/ Extended Warranty. There Was An Issue W/ Blown Head Gaskets on this Model,Saw One @ Dealer in Atl.& It Had A 36 or 48 Premium Warrant ,Because Was Certified by Lexus. Then,If Head Gasket Goes South During the Extended Warr,Dealer Has to Repair it,on Them.
You can find them this one was but this car as a whole is pretty rare since they didn't sell many
2011 to 2015 yes you could have a head gasket failure if you let the EGR valve clog up. 2016 and up have less chance of having this problem.
69,000 mi is nothing for a Lexus. That maybe only 1% of its life used up
Should I buy a 2014 one with 78k miles on it ?
Regular gas for the CT200h
people put regular despite what lexus tells them
@@MeynMotorGroup Lexus says to use 87. It has the same engine as the prius why would it need premium, it's not a turbo either..
@@MeynMotorGroupIt says 87 octane on the gas cap.You got that detail wrong.
Excellent video
Excellent review Kevin like always! It's crazy, the night before you uploaded I was just thinking "hey I wonder if kevin's gonna review a CT200h next?" I like the looks but your honest review further validates the niche market for these. When these cane out I thought they were based on the IS 😂😂
Haha yea got a few requests and I gotta deliver what the viewers want! Thanks again for the continued support!
i love my lexus ct200h 2014 fsport it’s the best car bought it used gas is great and it’s so comfortable
4:51 its a nice car even the porsche accepts it thats saying something.
Thanks for making video and sharing
Anyone know if this is a two wheel drive or a four wheel drive?
Its a two wheel front car
You used to catch these 3 y/o CT’s CPO with 30k for $19k
After my dads civic lease he had his heart set on one of these, till he drove one, he did like how it drove, he liked driving the civic better.
He ended up spending a little more and getting an ES350 and then he was impressed.
CT still a good car, good economy, great quality and features, but it’s small and the drive could be better.
Yes ES is fantastic that and the RX are some of their best work practically but I agree this serves as a cool and efficient city car
There are plenty of CT200h that can be had for 19k with that amount of miles
Can't find em for that price anymore
Why can’t they make a compact hatchback with a decent acceleration. Hybrids suck.
I have a 2015 CT F-Sport and I love it! Its slow but otherwise amazing.
Nice! Yea it's a nice ride for sure
Why are hatchbacks juvenile? Just say you don't like hatchbacks.
That's what the interns drive little college brats can't take that seriously
Very good review and fair assessment Kevin of this model which has never been one of the all star vehicles in the Lexus line up
Thank you my friend and yea I agree with that haha it was never the star of the show lol
Nice job!
I think what you really meant to say was "Hatchbacks are practical"
Looking at buying a 2011 ct200h at 119k miles for 10k. From my local mechanic, trustworthy family business. Thiiiiinking about it
Bought a 2017 L/Certified with only 24k miles in May
It is a great car, a little underwhelming interior wise for a Lexus. Wanting to get something bigger cause this thing is gutless in the mountains with just my wife and I. Can't imagine if we had friends and gear on a ski trip
Nice congrats and yea def not quick mostly a city car
Great review Kevin
Thanks!
My next used car to save on gas a little bit.
Just bought a 2017 CT200h.
so much visible emotion
I’m in the market for one of these cars but still a bit expensive for me 😂
Edit: I own a TSX like @ 5:05 it’s a sign 👍🏼
Hatchbacks are more useable / practical than a saloon. Nothing juvenile about them.
Practicality is for kids. I have my butler follow me and transport my belongings inside the latest Rolls Royce while I'm in front driving my LaFerrari
Saloon? Lol
@@MeynMotorGroup good for you but this is about the CT...
LOL at “who the hell was that?” Haha super random
Yea it was kinda spooked me 😆 but if that gentleman actually knew of my channel I wish he would comment or DM me but haven't gotten anything yet oh well lol
lol
@@MeynMotorGroup Maybe it was that ct200h that got his attention.
“I don’t like hatchbacks, I think they are a bit juvenile” 🤣
You only hear this from Americans. Europeans love hatchbacks.
They give off intern vibes I need a sedan
@@MeynMotorGroup Except SUVs / Crossovers are just hatchbacks on stilts and look how much Americans and Canadians love those :P Great review, really enjoyed it.
I need that trunk space vs the Sedan
@@MeynMotorGroupI have both.A 2013 Ls 460 and a 2012 Ct-200h.
I prefer driving the Ct honestly 🤷🏾♂️
Hatchbacks are juvenile? What?
Meaning it looks like a child’s car. Something an intern would drive, starter car, beginner car, etc.
@@MeynMotorGroup Perhaps, but at least they’re a practical choice relative to other body styles. The ultimate juvenile car, to me, would be the coupe. No rear doors and a small trunk. If it was a liftback…different story!
Recorded horizontally:)
Its a toyota its gonna last 500k aslong u maintain it do all the services!!
Great video! I’m excited because I’m buying a 2011 in a week. Sounds like a waaaaay better buy than my shitty Hyundai lol
For sure. Hyundai looks good but inside it is just junk yeah, no offence.
It is a great choice, I just bought one last month, you'll save a lot on gas too
With the new IS500 coming, a CT500 would have been awesome. I think the ct is styled great but the lack of engine options hurt its popularity/sales.
I had this and a prius c at the same time (the ct is now with my sis) and this is way better of a commuting car. Of course the interior isnt even comparable.
Dude, what's wrong w/ the hatchback. Sedans suck.
What's wrong with sedans? See you got the same logic
@@MeynMotorGroup ugly
@@MeynMotorGroup You can't fit anything in a damn sedan's trunk. It sucks for camping or transporting large/long items.
Testing a GV60 rn no space in the trunk of that either
You're dead accurate in everything you said, but jeez, you reviewed it like you lost a bet.
Vs civic?
Civic def handles better
I love mine!
the newer ones are 100% not worth it because its so dated compared to other cars that came out at the same time. the infotainment sucks and there are no modern safety features other than the backup cam from 2005. for the same price as the 2014-2017 models you can get a much better car. the 2011-2013 is however a good buy! great mpg and reliability.
If you want good gas mileage, puny power and a rock-hard ride, the CT is for you!
best part of the video at 4:58 ( Who the hell was that) 🤣
Review a lexus es coach edition bruh bruh I haven't seen one of those viddys
Oh what is that never heard of it
It's a 90s edition es300 colab between leather manufacturer Coach and lexus. They colabbed for the second and third gen ES
Damn had no idea know where I can find one lol 😂 thats the next challenge
