  • after using the retail batch of this switch for a week, here are my thoughts on it:
The improvements that I’m happy with, from the proto batch to this one is that, the prelube is way way better. No more lube on stem poles and the customized lubing points works really well. The switch sounds a lot closer to NK Creams than the proto batch as well. NK Creams are just tad bit more high pitch than this switch.
Also I’m not sure how to describe it, but this might be one of the nicest 55g springs I’ve tried other than SW Classic 55g Springs. It doesn’t feel like a super light spring.
But as much as I love this switch, It isn’t perfect.
There are 2 things that kinda bother me,
The spring is dry & The prelube inconsistency.
I understand that prelubes cannot be consistent sometimes and this is Gateron, so I kinda expected the prelube inconsistency.
Don’t get me wrong though, when the prelube is on point it really works. But sometimes you got a few pieces that are overlubed on the housing rails. On my batch, out of 90 there are 6 pieces that are too overlubed. The rest are super good or pretty okay.
But some of these problems can be easily fix, like thankfully because the lube is oil based and there’s no lube on the poles. The ones that are overlubed, feels & sounds better after a couple days of use.
As for the springs, you can just lube it and the ping is gone. The ones on this vid are still stock, so I haven’t lube the springs. The ping is only noticeable on mods. On alphas it’s still pretty fine.
I’ve been tinkering with relubing the switches. But so far I haven’t found the method that I’m satisfied with.
For now, keeping the stock prelube + lubing the springs is the best way to tune it.
This switch is definitely one of my go-to now. Totally loved it. Nice spring feel, nice sound, nice smoothness. I do wish Gateron would be more consistent with the prelube on the next batch or if there’s a next round for this switch.

    👀👍!
imo i feel like the snow rabbits dont sound as full when compared to nk creams. then again, it could just be the recording and my headphones, but side by side comparison would be nice.

yeah you’re right. I was actually planning a comparison, cause previously the KFE CE was built with NK Creams as well. But then I realize that old vid has a different recording format from this one. So I’m
not sure if It’s good enough to be use as a comparison. too bad though.

Definitely has the timbre of kailh creams, but just a bit drier? If that makes any sense. But probably just due to differences in handlubing kailh creams vs prelube gateron.
