Fucking great protest song as always. I just want to say, and I know this isnt what you're saying, but it isn't news as a concept that is a problem. You shouldn't ignore the news, it's super fucking important to be informed, you just need to be careful with how you interact with it. Hearing the "heads talk" as Jesse puts it is the problem. Don't let these fuckers tell you what is going on and how to feel about it. Read about the news from as many perspectives as you can, make your own judgements as to what is real, what isn't, and how to feel about what is real, but ALSO how to feel about what isn't. The news you hear that isn't real is as important as the news you hear that is. Fuck these guys for telling us how to think and feel. Pop off king.
hi i would like to respectfully disagree slightly. i believe you are operating under the concept that the news relays information about the world, along with a bias one way or another. therefore, listening to all the sources can cancel out that bias, leaving you with just the real information.
but, you could say that the news relays information about the world, a bias, and a healthy dose of poison. therefore, consuming more sources may cancel out the bias and give you neutral information, but also a shit ton of poison. it would be reasonable to say that the negative effects of the poison outweigh the potential positive effects of intaking information.
This one might be my new favorite, and they've all been strong contenders.
