The acoustic stuff Jesse just released is another level
Agreed 100%.
He’s an absolute force.
The industry is probably shaking in their stolen boots.
Reminds me of Shannon Hoon.
I wish I heard of this guy before today ..
Yes, I just watched War isn’t Murder, Cancer and Fentanyl, I like this too, Jesse’s where you been hiding. You’re gonna have so many fans, I have my ears open and my eyes on you!!
When tortured by society, some grow a hard shell and hide from the pain. Others develop strength and character then grow wings and fly.
Its better than bob dylan
proof the music world of real talent is ignored by the machine
this is a good example of how damn hard it is for real talent to be recognized now days
It's easier than ever.
@@Mario-or8yq nope.
Right?? I don’t even use tik tok and it seems everyone’s calling him a TikTok artist. This guy is dripping with talent and it’s a damn shame I never heard of him or gone to a show
@@devourerofsnacks Sure it is. Think a bit.
However, it's always hard.
@@devourerofsnacks You used to have to find a way to get your demo tape in the hands of an executive, now youtube gives you a stage in front of the world. If you are good enough, you will be "discovered".
Why YT slipped Fentanyl into my usual recommended of cats, crime interrogations and dance moms I will never know, but now I'm on a bender watching all I can find of my new obsession! Wahoo!!
hahah Fentanyl and then this also slipped into my feed wtf xD
Jesse Welles does a folksy country thing now, y’all should check it out. It’s also really good
Yo same here ahahah
it brings me a lot of joy seeing just how many people are here for the same reasons as me. lets get this dude recognized internetwide
Ultimate combination.. I know it well!!
It saddens me a guy with this much talent has been at it this long without some real recognition.
Dude it happens all the damn time. Thankfully the veil is lifting and those who seek the real real are finding it. All Father is with us all so be it.
We get to make up for it, now. Couldn't stop it if you wanted to.
There are a whole lot of us
We are the real recognition
I feel the same. Jesse Welles has legendary talent.
I see the recognition was long overdue
If Rolling Stone was relevant Jesse would be on the cover
dont know why yt decided to recommend me this 7 years later but i like it
I'm hearing you.
This is great music, and his acoustic in the bush
It’s cause he’s poppin on others socials rn.
Go check out his newer stuff. Great songwriter.
Same. Its so good.
the fact that its been 7 years since 2017 is so fucked
Stumbled across his acoustic stuff and recognized a real talent... now this!... very impressive!
The way he adds distortion to his voice is natural talent
'vibrato'
@@M0053yfate vibrato and distortion are not the same thing. He is utilizing both, but they are 2 distinct effects.
Ya how is this done?
I'm shocked at the quality of music this guy creates.
SO good.
Boeing song brought me here & I’ve watched 5 times in a row
This guy is effen amazing. The fact that he's not a superstar says a lot about the music industry now.
So much killer music out there.
When I stumble onto it I'm so grateful to not be beholden to the machine.
(Killer hard rock band btw " the machine" 💡)
Ya somehow taylor swift with her 17 ghost writers is the BEST music these days….(according to the charts). The underground is where it is at . I just wish guys like this could make bank like the mainstream people do
jesse’s acoustic stuff is great but oh my lord this is amazing too
Binge watching Welles. Awesome talent. Love the blue grass picking he's doing these days.
His voice is just sooo good. Reminds me of Kurt soooo much. ❤ if you like this guy, check out Austin Meade
The front man's new music is such a funky 180 into something really cool. Very Appalachian country.
Would you have a link?
@rob9340 Links tend not to work in YT comments anymore. It's just "Jesse Welles" on RUclips. He has like 4 songs up, "Cancer" "Fetanyl" "War Isn't Murder" and "Olympics". I double checked his site and Wikipedia page and it's the same dude.
@@TheTrueUlfhednar Much appreciated.
Lots more songs on Instagram
Reminds me of John Prine.
I am literally giddy with how excited I am to have found this. Jesse is an absolute treasure, so so stoked to dive into this music and be a fan
gawd damn I love finding these unknown jewels
ruclips.net/video/nyem3gD6XN8/видео.html Lead singer doing a folk song
He's not a normal youtube person. I wish there were more people like him.
Kudos to anyone who knew about this before war isn’t murder came out this man’s a legend
same here
Used to watch him at coffee shops in 2012.
Holy cow. This dude is the next big thing.
Not even close
@@cjkopp1185 Sadly you're right. Most people prefer generic shit like Taylor Swift.
Someone get this dude in the freaking studio now.
Has a full album out now. Also three albums with his old band Dead Indian.
that happened
He rocks🎉
He’s out in the woods now
I thought you was going to say barbershop 😂🤣
Jesse is a goddamn powerhouse
No idea why I’m listening to this until now - he sounds like Shannon Hoon - what a nice tone
I was hoping someone else would notice this!! That was my first thought. He sounds so much like Shannon Hoon.
brother, weve been looking for you...
Wait a godam second.. I follow Welles on TikTok. This is that dude? Dang. Cool
Can we talk about how he quotes the Beatles "Can You Take Me Back" on his guitar???
Not just the guitar the vocal structure is identical.
Thank you… it was an immediate thing for me. Music repeats itself and reappears again and again. I am sure the Beatles weren’t the first either.
this guy's phucking phenomenal.. motivational grunge feeling 🤜 🤛
100%. This guy is legendary for sure. Love the Led Zeppelin/Nirvana vibes.
I landed here via is new stuff. OMG this guy is the real deal. This song feels like a memory. (I'm gen x.)
Nirvana vibes!!! Gen X here! 🙌
I like his rock singing (this poped up after i watched the solo bluegrass stuff on the Jesse Welles channel) hopefully this band catches some traction
I wouldn’t call that solo stuff bluegrass. lol… why bc it’s in woods w acoustic guitar? Lmao
@@yateswebbhe has a banjo rolling the heck out of that acoustic in the woods though, dont think its that misguided to reference it as bluegrass
This was him in the early 90's. He's aged really well.
Early 90's? Your crazy
@@seanlynthicum5881 You sound just like my therapist.
This is my new favorite band. Jesse is talented. I like his music.
Saw them live in Milwaukee. They opened for Greta Van Fleet. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
Just when I thought I gave up on music. Holy hell! So damn good!
It's HIM!!
Out- Fxxking-Standing !! Why am I just now hearing about this dude??!!
Someone give this man a dollar
Payola
@@teamflanneloutdoors5631 😆👍
This reminds me of the Beatles “Can You Take Me Back” which appears right before Revolution No. 9 on the White Album.
That's because it is.
ruclips.net/video/rNUF7wy9gpU/видео.htmlsi=p-TWzesGTZVqXdx_
Why am I just now discovered this guy?
Algorithm my dude, it's weird how it works eh
Bro, your time has come!!
What an incredible song. Someone sign him up!
I wouldn't recommend that. He should get his just due without having to hand 99% to a corporation.
@@666THEMARK666 he's being cherished organically, as he should be. Arkansas babies have been loving what he has to say for years now
Play this on repeat and it just keeps getting better!
Jesse Welles' star is rising!
RIP throat, but god damn.
Wow !! What depth this adds to the new acoustic stuff - quadruples my respect for you Jessie , what an amazing voice you have !! Please continue any agitations ! Soul is more important than shred - this “old” electric stuff is amazing - keep rocking in the free world !! 🙏🌏✌️🎼🎶👏👏👏
Finally, someone saying something in a song worth saying. Something called The Truth.
Jesse Welles - what a talent. Great drumming and bass here too!
Look this guy up. Crazy talented.
Talent!! Rock And Roll is not dead.
so rare to find such clear talent like this these days
Saw these guys with Royal Blood at the observatory. They shred live.
Pyrochyde I was there! They were both incredible
Pyrochyde Same here, best way to start my junior year.
Damn, that's a helluva show.
Jeh-sea Welles is an absolute Badass! Seen him Live, and I was Blown away by his Guitar Skills. Love his vocals & songwriting style too. Watch him, boys and girls...Headed all the way up!
....got to be one of the finest three pieces I've heard
I remember my first day.
Books as sound deadening is genius ;)
Those are 1/4" and 2" tapes along with a number of formats of film and video dating back to the 1950s. A lot of it is from Bill Graham's archive (Fillmore, Fillmore East, Winterland Ballroom, et al). The collection also includes Newport Folk and Jazz archives, King Biscuit Flower Hour, all priceless originals including the original tape that was on the deck in July of 1966 when John Coltrane Quintet played their last Newport Jazz. And check out the metal canisters over the drummer's right shoulder, those are the original 35mm film reels from Santana's '73 South America tour. The tapes you see onscreen is the tip of the iceberg, the collection is massive.
Forget all those popular artists with record company backing! This is real talent!!!
Jesse can be next UP if he wants to be
The main melody of this song is the exact same as "can you take me back" by the Beatles.
Wow, man this man is on another level
The dude from workaholics is a great singer.
This song is built around the melody from Can You Take Me Back, on the Beatles' White Album
But this song is better.
@@SamTheWurzelbacher Ferk right off you heathen.
Thank you Jesse Welles for finishing John Lennon's song fragment. You did him proud!
It was McCartney song fragment at end of lennon song "cry baby cry" 😊
Wow! They are great! Why are they not more successful?!
Did you see the music business recently ? They don't want thought . Only wet ass pussy will do
Because they're subversive. Probably won't accept the straight jacket and censorship of a studio contract. Good on them! Bit like Lowkey in the UK.
The black sabbath flavour through this is awesome 👏
1 for the algorithm boyz!
Damn even making that electric guitar sing for him! I love your range keep it up man
Love the soul in this tune, from the heart!
one of my all time favorites. those guitar phrases, remind me of Quick Silver Messenger service. like progressive psychedelic hard rock.
How have I never heard this yet!!!
In another era, by now, he already would've been 'discovered' by a record company, exploited, promoted, compelled to tour and market his brand incessantly, and burned out by excess and success. Around this time in his career, his handlers would be releasing compilation albums in order to generate enough cash to offset the trouble his PR team has to go through as they try to put out the fires of resentment and misunderstanding that seem to follow him around everywhere. My nephew would totally have a poster of him on the wall.
Is it any wonder why we find rockstardom so captivating?
30k views? 7 years ago? All the comments I see are from 3 days ago max? What? How?
Lead singer (Jesse Welles) is dripping out some solo work that's getting a lot more attention.
The new stuff is more bluegrass/folk, but it's still making the algorithm push all his older stuff too 👍
Why is it that whenever I discover an artist from the benevolent algorithm..paste magazine had them do a live 7 years ago.
Saw Welles live in Nashville. Love em. We will be seeing more from this up and comer. Jeh-sea Welles is totally a nice guy too. Don't lose that kid!
another amazing song
I discovered Jesse just a month or so ago from his acoustic releases on this platform of all places. Was happy to find that he's started uploading on Tidal as well.
Dude, you sound like a mix between hendrix, SRV and Sebastian Bach (Skid row) - in other words - GREAT! Dont know why it got recommended to me now - 7 yrs later, but hey, i'm not complaining.
Sometimes there’s snippets that you just wish the artist would have done more with… here’s one. A possibility is presented here, enjoy.
If you have a good vibrato you jump up like 100 notches as a guitarist in my book. I love it , awesome tune man.
So, I fell asleep during Seth Meyers, and woke up to these guys playing on Carson Daly. Now I'm going to have to tell everyone I know about them.
ZAKLEE!! ME THREE!! Woke up and got my shit blown! First objective: check their tour sched in Chicago. (BAH. Nothing.)
What a voice!
This for sure has "the strokes" vibe. Love it.
This is good shit…definitely looking these guys up.
This would explain his current vocals... It was either screaming 7 years ago or 5000 packs of ciggies
either way I like it
Excellent rock screaming!!
man he can do it all!
All started with Fentanyl and now I find out he can scream like Dwight Frye when he’s thrown off the castle by Frankenstein’s monster. I can’t believe this was 7 years ago.
damn this is a ducking awesome song
You guys are great!!
where was this when i had more than just headphones
Neighbors need enlightenment as well🗽
THIS IS SO AWESOME WTF
🎵 Can you take me back where I came from? Can you take me back? 🎵
🎵 Can you take me back where I came from? Brother, can you take me back? 🎵 music
Damn boys that was rad
melody is from the Beatles song Can You Take Me Back.
Other than that, cool song.
I was about to comment that!
There's a place called wells Creek near hear that has wells built into the springheads in the limestone.
Hail ("happy"?) hippy! 🫡😃 Trippy seeing "Hippy" plugged in this time! Groovy! Far out!!
This is crazy good
Amazing the range this dude has
wow this is amazing!
Gen X here and I'm getting Nirvana vibes... thanks fer the nostalgia! 🔥🙌
❤ this kid!
Hooked from the first note, you guys. :D
This song rocks!!!!
Can't get enough of your talent!
Great song! The sound, the content,.the groove are all stellar
