I wasn't expecting the little shift into the "reggae-kind of sound" at 4:10. Very nice! Then, around 5:12, the addition of the Bootsy Collins' classic of "I'd Rather Be With You" was a nice touch too. This fellow and his band are very entertaining!

And trust me, most of them had no idea how lucky they were and still don’t.
I had the opportunity to see this gentleman LIVE about a year ago. Freaking MAGNIFICENT!!!
This is about the 1000th time I've watched this video....every time I just say "WOW" Kingfish is SO good. Amazing. The band is really great.
This dude is amazing, I hope he lives a long and fulfilled life. God bless him
Whole lotta talent.
@@michiganmikeupnorth Yessir🙌🏼 The next B.B. King
Dude is gonna live a minute
Doubt it. He isnt healthy.
@@BrandonSmith-qx8jx i know and it makes me sad
Thanks to the guys who put this up, I am Scottish and in Europe so have never heard of Kingfisher he is fkn amazing. As many comments have already stated Jimi would be proud of him. The essence of his soul came through and this was definitely not another run of the mill cover. Loved the reggae and purple haze slipped into his unique cover. I am going to Spotify to check him out now.
Been listening for years. He is in an episode of "Luke Cage" on Netflix also.
Sending love from UK
@@videowatchr5565: What's that?
he's touring the uk in the new year!
Wow. This guy has got the gift. Tone and technique, flawless.
I need to smoke another joint and listen to this masterpiece

What an outstanding guitarist and vocalist, I hope he gets the recognition he truly deserves.
I would love to see these guys in a small club like this. Good for the folks that got to see this live. Bassist is on point too.
This band deserves a bigger stage. Amazing🎉
Guy kills it, and the club owner can't show the decency to kill the TV behind the performers? Always pisses me off....
Dude...i'm actually liking the tv behind him.Clearly your not a basketball fan
True.
We got biggie smalls on guitar tonight
Look at his joy. Cool stuff
I assure you the crowd ain't watching tv.
More than Hendrix, he reminds me of Buddy Guy, and that’s a compliment.
Totally agree 100%
He was the opening act for Buddy Guy for awhile.
@@tomharris7963 I was gonna say, I heard him at Buddy Guys in Chicago not long ago
Sounds more like Roy Buchanan's version.
Not agree at all man hes an idio
I wasn't expecting the little shift into the "reggae-kind of sound" at 4:10. Very nice! Then, around 5:12, the addition of the Bootsy Collins' classic of "I'd Rather Be With You" was a nice touch too.
This fellow and his band are very entertaining!
Operation - This is not "Hey Joe". This is a mishmash of other stuff including reggae! Tune into Billy Roberts and hear the real thing.
bootsy hell of a bass player seen him with james brown
@@rogertycholiz2218 CRY 😭😭😥😥
Absolutely stellar performance by guitarist extraordinaire, a God given talent who through hard work, long hours, a soulful voice and raw emotion has performed this iconic song like it hasn't been done since Jimi. What a future this young man has. Jimi Hendrix, BB King and now Kingfish. Count this 68 yr old as a new fan. Thank you Sir!
Yeah, was a great night for us all… those boys were hitting all the high notes this fine evening!!! Know what’s what and how to do it right. Thank you boys!
He’s an AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING talent. May he live a LONG time- he’s gonna be a big star someday in the blues world and beyond.
He will need to start taking better care of himself. Right now he isn’t on track to last.
He’s already a big star on the blues circuit.

Yeah big man!!!
Bleed out for all to see.

Such emotion. Incredible.
Thank you.
Yeah, that truly might be the best cover of Hey Joe I’ve ever heard! ❤️🔥
Me too
Smooth and sweet
This guy is awesome! I liked how he incorporated the Jimi Hendrix Purple Haze riff in the song. That was glorious.

Yeah I’m doing that for now on
That was slick!
Can you do better?

@@neelyadav2936 I misread. Some of these comments about his weight just got me really sensitive and defensive. My apologies.
I'm a fan of any fan playing Jimi. Tribute, cover, don't matter, it's the feeling and the soul of the player and this man is in the groove. Loved it!
To Charles Tidwell: Hendrix is good.
@@eddyvideostar that's an understatement
Just beautiful guitar work!!! They rest of the band is also right on top!!! I enjoyed this version very much!!!
The drummer is tight
What an awesome tribute and dude is mad talented. The whole band was phenomenal with the switches and rhythm changes. That eye contact and knowing your band mates is crucial when trying to switch mid-song or end a song on the right measure. Everyone who’s played in a band knows that look he gave the bassist and drummer. Well played sir.
Great version I'm really digging the bass playing making it funky .
Organ would help, and maybe some background vocals.
Jimmy would have taken his hat off to this gentlemen I bet a “straight up” smokin’ rendition of it
The moment this young gentleman was conceived, The Lord God touched him and said, Thou shalt hear all the notes in the universe, and shall do wondrous things with Music!” Thank You Lord, for this Gifted Young Man! 🎼🎶🙏✝️💜👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😘🕊🌹
My favorite young Blues guitarist these days. I really like his singing too.
I'm really impressed. I liked how he did so well playing Hendrix, then went into a Jamaican feel, the through some Bootsy Collins in there towards the end with "I rather be with you" and went right back to Hendrix to finish up. Really impressive......and the band is on top of it too, especially that bass player.
Recognize that guys passion , skills and dedication. It's on the highest wavelength that a person can be on. Hot damn what a song !
Big talent. And when someone says "my fingers are too big for electric guitar" I always show this guy's videos.
The stage presence and poise, and obvious talent are pure genius he will be around as long as he wants to be 👏👏👏👏
I LOVE this guy! I can’t get enough of him. Phenomenal!
Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. B.B. King smiles down on you young man!
Why is youtube's algorithm just now suggesting me to watch this?!
This guy is amazing!!
Christ I always have to come back to this…. On absolute 🔥 from the soul
This brings back the taste of the beer and the feel of the vibes from my live band bar days. I could sit and listen for hours. Great job.
Brought tears to my eyes. Guitar master.
Incredible the level of talent this young man has and he isn't even an adult yet. Truly gifted.
To Stevenson Chambers: Bernie Williams rocked when he was hitting homers in the hypethral.
This kid has the magic vibe. I got to see Papa Chubby play this and also Buddy Miles. (didn't know Buddy played guitar) and they gave Jimi a run for his money. This guy runs right with both of these "professional" musicians!
Yup, I once saw Popa Chubby live … also great !!
Phenomenal versatility playing guitar and singing. This guy in his own style hit "Hey Joe" out of the park. Nailed it ! Lol Would love to see these guys playing live. Thank you all !😊
Seeing someone so brilliant and at the top of their game in their chosen field always brings a tear of joy to my eye
Got to watch this young man, he is on his way! Love him already and God Bless him! This is real music played by a real music man.
Absolutely phenomenal. I have watched this over and over.
This guy gave me chills the way he played that guitar 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
He is an amazing guitarist and singer!!! Gifted hoping he take of himself so we can enjoy his talent for many years to come!❤❤❤
BB King, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Healy, and THIS GUY!!! Glad to see there's still guitar heroes out there. Definitely want to hear MORE from this cat.
Jeff Beck and Rory Gallagher
Don’t forget Roy Buchanan’s cover. I still think that’s the one that out shines them all.
