Love them all, but Eric Gales is the genius up there. His sense of rhythm, harmony, guitar styles and history is prodigious, and every measure is inventive.
I heard B. B. King say in an interview that while he had to think about what he was playing, Stevie Ray Vaughn just "spoke" fluently without needing to pause (I'm almost certainly butchering the metaphor, but that was the gist). Since then it's something I keep in mind when watching musicians and Eric Gales is definitely in the category of not needing to stop and think. He just plays and it's awesome.

I would have given anything to be at this show. I love all three of them independently as artists and it's insane to have them on one stage at a small venue sharing the same damn guitar!
I imagine myself in that audience, either totally ignorant or the only one who isn’t that Eric Gales and Kingfish are on the same stage, sharing the same guitar, and my life is changed. These two are my idols! It’s like you wandered into a bar and BB King was sharing the stage and equipment with Jimi Hendrix.
Thank you Eric for bringing this very special moment together and showing me Samantha Fish. Love you and Kingfish always have and will but Samantha was the vessel that night! You knew what would happen if you put her on right then and there. You masterfully set the stage and said hey everyone watch this. She must have been pent, because after she belted out some of Jimi’s feelings of frustrations of loneliness and squared off with you on bass she opened up. Does everyone see what’s really happening up there in the moments that follow? Something that can’t be rehearsed musically or re-enacted. I know the drummers saw it because they looked at each other like holy shit “it just happened”. Jimi referred to “it” as Voodoo. Jimi tells us he was a Voodoo Child. Voodoo : to bewitch by. At the very least what I’m saying that I believe in the moments following “she” isn’t playing lead on guitar but letting go and opening up. Being manifested by what I don’t know. I do know that it’s often associated with traditional blues and in fellowship with other “Open” very talented musicians and even the character of the audience witnessing it is a necessary element. (Sometimes you see it start in the legs like electricity is coming up from the stage and going through them causing a leg to rise and toe point down or just a little awkward leg movement like puppet string) was such a beautiful climax and release you can tell everyone there felt some weight was lifted off them. Kingfish maybe the only man alive that could follow that so well and bring us home. Thanks again Eric for being the Voodoo coordinator and please all 3 of you never ever ever get in a helicopter. Just trust me on this get a sweet bus okay❤

Doctor J and for the poor guitar it was all over far too quickly ✨✨🤔😮😲🤣🤣✨✨🌸🌺🌞🌺🌸✨✨🎶 3 was the clear winner ✨✨😮😲✨✨
Blue history written right here . That was phenomenal. Three unique voices and three unique guitar styles all at the top of their game Swapping guitars love it .
Three blues guitarists who have clearly attained 'master' status. Love it!
What an awesome night!!!
jkgramps , c’mon now Eric has attained master status. Samantha and Kingfish have a long way to go before they get his level. Gotta learn how to do more than play leads to be a true blues master.
@@sammack1564 I don't disagree. I guess better to say that they've each mastered the blues. I'd be the first to argue that Eric Gales is in a special club - one that (in my view) includes the likes of Jimi and Johnny Winter.
UMMM .....SAMANTHA IS NO WHERE NEAR MASTER STATUS PLAYING OR SINGING. SHE JUST BLEW THE RIGHT PEOPLE. PLEASE DON'T BE FOOLED! SHE'S AVERAGE AT BEST MAYBE A MASTER IN THE BEDROOM. NEXT TOPIC HOW ABOUT THOSE PATRIOTS AGAIN:)
@@5thbassdrum I bet you're fun at parties😵
that dude is a HELL of a drummer
And he’s playing a right handed guitar upside down as a left handed guitar…flawlessly. Wow!
Omg. I’ve seen all the greats, from Jimi, to Stevie, to Bonamassa. This guy melted my face more than any of them.
I know he did.
LOL!.....Stevie, Bonamassa?. G.T.F.O.H
Gary Moore. Check out Separate ways live
Lots of players wouldn't let other greats steal their thunder so to speak. Eric is a great guy. I've seen him bring lots of other talents to the stage before. I think he genuinely enjoys showing off others talents as well as his own.
Well said Billy!!!
there's a reason those type of people flame out after a few seasons
The Jazz and Blues world seems to be more about the music in general. Not going to make a lot of money at it unfortunately.
@@ianz28 There is money in it. Don't let anyone fool you about that. Where you see people there are dollars. I get handed money & usually do 1 or 2 songs.
That’s because he is very secure about his playing!!
I came here expecting to see some amazing guitar playing from eric gales, and I did. But what I did not expect to see was the most amazing guitar playing from two unexpected and unheard of guitar players and be completely blown away by both of them. This was a real treat
Unheard of? What rock you live under?
I still remember seeing the Eric Gales Band on the Arsenio Hall Show, back around '89 or '90. One of the greatest American guitar players, period.
They are all really great at what they do, but for me it’s KINGFISH .... his Soul is so deep that there isn’t much repetition, and there’s so much emotions exactly what blues is really about.... great job guys
B.B. king once said , "you can't sing the Blues, until you've had the Blues !"
Exactly, some kid told me once I'm getting lessons at the music store, learning to play the blues........I told him son ......ya live the blues ya don't learn them ...
@@45mutant 👍👍I can sing and play the blues, because of my past dealings with WOMEN ! 😄😁
DAMN RIGHT!
@@BluesCat1980 👍😃
@@45mutant You can learn the progressions and scales, but the ingredient that makes the Blues what it is, is life. Hard times, good times, and everything else in between.
Eric gales is incredible but kingfish was born to sing the blues. You hang on every note he plays . His timing is incredible. This was epic.
Kingfish > Gales
When big man steps up to sing and play his solo it gets wild
Holy crap - what a hell of a jam ! All super talented all of them. Wish I was there. Everybody from all colours and backgrounds loving the moment together ! Like we should.
From the looks of it, Eric is playing a right handed strat upside down, strings and all😳. That’s a virtuoso.
That's his style. He was playing Woodstock '94 with Santana. He's no new guy!
Albert King way. Maybe Eric had some trouble with finding left-ganded guitars when he was starting out
His older brother taught him I believe, and learned the same way, so he rolled with it
Damn!...... I could close my eyes and tap my foot to that all night! Kingfish is the man. Thanks for sharing. My heart is richer for listening.
What a genius the big fella is. Wow. Total mastery.
Absolutely love the jazz nuances he puts in this version, so good
Omg! Take my money! Just keep playing those guitars! This kind of music just stirs the heart and soul. Amazing! Bravo!
I love seeing the dude recording Kingfish on his phone… Not sure if he’s family or friend, but I can literally feel how proud he is.. Been following this young man for several years… Pure genius.. I’m not one to rank musicians , but Eric is uniquely gifted…. and Samantha ……. Top shelf.. She’s gonna be around for a long long time 🙏🏼
Sounds silly, but somehow seeing Kingfish has given me restored faith in the future of humankind.
He'll probably have a heart attack before long-hows that make you feel?
Joyce Sanders horrible comment but sadly could be true
For however long he may be here it is good to see the young generation carry the blues torch after all these years.
He is just amazing.
So true
3 AMAZING artists. Jimi is surely smiling!!!
3? What about the others? hehehe
I admire all the incredible black people who pour their emotions into music. Hendrix's spirit will always be where there is a guitar.
Gustavo Scarpinella Do ofc not forget BB King🙌🏻🙏🏻
Lol what bout Hispanic??
I've watched this often and never noticed before that Eric picks up a 5-string bass and starts casually rocking it.
There is a vid of him playing bass to a Prince song on his channel. Eric is the real deal!
Samantha Fish AND Kingfish ANNNNDDD Eric Gales?!?!?! Lets go!
Baaddassery
Now that song that they did was off the hook give him props to the man who put guitar on the book James Marshall Jimi Hendrix the respect to all people showing props to that man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carbon419 that was unreal!!!
Couldn't say it any better. Couldn't have been any better. Must of been a thrill to be able to be there seeing and hearing this. So glad that THE BLUES is alive and well. Much appreciated
@@gerrett108 My new favourite word!
The blues have been bringing together the races for over 100 years. So much talent that stage could barely hold them all!
Just when I thought i had practice my pentatonic scales enough, Eric Gates, Samantha Fish and Kingfish Ingram send me back to the drawing board.
My thoughts exactly lol!
I think they were playing in a minor but Hendrix's is in b major. I'm I wrong what do y'all think
Joshua Thomas all my stuff is on eBay now.....
Learn to play then learn how not to play it's just throwing all your emotions into the audience if you think about it the magic won't happen
@@collom.o9578 Hexdrix is B minor pentatonic. Standard blues licks and riffs he's playing, but it's all minor. Hendrix was a master of switching between major and minor though. The original of this song is not an example of that switching. But this video is. Kingfish knows where it's AT.
Kingfish keeps making me cry. Just discovered him yesterday. His playing is....holy.
Holy indeed
Three monsters...but Kingfish Ingram is a a nuclear device onstage.
It certainly looks like he's approaching critical mass! (Yeah I know he's been trying to lose weight...but the gag was there!) Hope he succeeds...I want to hear him when I'm older and greyer!
I wanna hear him when HEs older and greyer
Damnit, man. King is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorite musicians. All 3 of them were amazing though.
The Blues is Alive and well because of folks likes this. Please, Please keep it coming!
This is gold , can’t tell what’s better, the guitar or the commentary !!!! 🔥🔥
I googled Freddie King, and the algorithm gave me Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eric Gales, Samantha Fish and Kingfish Ingram. Sometimes I love the algorithm.
Add some Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, and Jeff Beck and you're all set
Albert Collins.. Guitar Shorty.. Buddy Guy..Gary Moore..Luther Allison...
Life is Dope. I’m growin me a big ole field of life. Brothers and sisters thank you sooo much for sharing my favorite Hendrix tune. Passing the guitar left to right handed is THE Coolest thing I have ever seen. Much love from Minnesota.
Let's have a moment of silence for that poor guitar, it didn't do nothing to nobody to deserve that beatdown! Well done!
These folks need more exposure. I want to hear this kinda stuff on the radio. I'm not even a huge blues fan but damn i can appreiate and enjoy this.
Kingfish is just amazing...and so young!
But I sincerely fear for his health too. :(
Yea he has to keep the weight down.
The Blues will return!!! Great artist jamming right here on this stage. Long live the BLUES❤❤
Eric Gales, Samantha Fish and Kingfish Ingram..
Damn men these guys are good for real...
In 50 years that guitar will cost millions....
take a moment for drummer too .. all are amazing too..
There's two drummers ...
Kingfish, Gales and Samantha Fish? Cmonn man. Probably the best blues artist in the world right now.
I just love how every one can have a completely different sound and style .The orchestration of only a God could do.
He just plays and it's awesome.
isnt kingfish a third his age lololol
I just held a stink face for 17 mins and 51 seconds.
Jon me too!😂
Tears here after king fish cmon
Jon hahahhahah i was doing the same thing and my wife was like “whats wrong you ok” hahaha i couldnt help it man the guitar and the vocals by all of em....just had that gritty ass dig deep into your soul feel to em.
🤣🤣
feel the blues bro, good job
Daaaaaaamn....The Big Dude have an AMAZING Voice!!! He feels it 100%!!! Love it!!!
I wouldn't want to share a stage with Kingfish. Nope.
There's a reason they let him go last
Its not a competition. Just play with him and enjoy it.
The voice, the guitar skills, the stage presence. Kingfish is a musical savant that is so appreciated by me
Thank you Jesus! Blues are alive and well!

Kingfish you are blessed brother! Awsome meets effortlessly flawless! Thanks A Ton
