War isn't murder
Good men don't die
Children don't starve and all the women survive
War isn't murder
That's what they say
When you're fighting the Devil
Murder's okay
War isn't murder

With a good night's sleep
Let's talk about dead people
I mean a dead people
The dead don't feel honor
They don't feel that brave
They don't feel avenged
They're lucky if they got graves
Call your dead mother
Ask her when she died
It's a deathly silence on the other line
The dead don't talk
But their children don't forget
So in 20 short years
You can live to regret that
War isn't murder
There's money at stake
Hell, even Kushner agrees
It's good real estate
War isn't murder
Ask Netanyahu
He's got a psalm for that
He's got a bomb for you
War isn't murder
It's an old desert faith
It's a nation state sanctioned righteous hate
Let's talk about dead people
I mean a dead people
War isn't murder
It's the vengeance of God
If you can't see the bodies
They don't bloat when they rot
And the flies don't swarm
And the children don't cry
If war isn't murder
Good men don't die
So in a short 20 years
Where you vacation the Strip
Try not and think about the dead
And have a nice trip
War isn't murder
Let's all give thanks
I saw it all in a movie
Give it up for Tom Hanks
War isn't murder
They don't ship out the poor
And the bullets they fire
Ain't part of the cure
War isn't murder
Land is a right
But the banks called dibs
It's something you can't fight
Let's talk about dead people
I mean a dead people
The dead don't feel honor
They don't feel that brave
They don't feel avenged

But no joke, this is a 3 day old classic, amazing work man.
generals and politicians would be charged with conspiracy to commit or for hiring hitmen. that's why PMCs are a legal grey area.
Mafia bosses get charged for organizing hit jobs. That's why the RICO act damaged the mob so much.
The ones declaring the war and the soldiers are both murderers - especially if you volunteered to sign up for it. You're not exempt of responsibility - if you killed someone you're a murderer. Gen z especially have 0 respect for veterans anymore and I'm proud of them. you don't hear them thanking anyone for the service of killing brown kids in other countries
Hey man, put a little tack in Spain too...I discovered ou today thanks to my son. I´m gonna start hear ans watch all your videos. Simply amazed by you lyrics, your guitar chops and how well you perform. Speechless!!!
I got chills listening to this. You’re talented as hell man
This song. Simply brilliant. Can't get enough. Please upload it to spotify
I’ve listened to this guy wayyyy too much in the last 2 days
I’ve been moved by your writing lately. So glad you’re sitting down and putting these songs out.
Thank you deeply for this one. You cut right to the core, and that’s all we’ve got left to feel.
Since the first time I listened to this, I haven’t been able to get it out of my head. I can’t wait for this to come out on Spotify. Keep doing what you are doing!
Politicians will hate to love this guy!
I was just looking for this on youtube a few hours ago, just my luck!! It's great to see a full version out. I'll have to write out the lyrics!
I can't begin to explain how much of an inspiration it is that a musician from my hometown has blown up in the way you have. I'm gonna start writing again. Thank you Jesse, I hope to cross paths.
I really dig your style, bud. Singing truths with such a great sandy voice. 👏👏👏👏
Hope this song blows up. Beautiful message and melody. I genuinely think people need to hear it.
This is actually one of the best songs I've ever heard
You are one my favorite musicians right now. Listening to this song on socials a few days ago is genuinely what made me want to educate myself about the war on Gaza, which I have finally finally done. Thank you for inspiring me through music to be better.
Edit: clarity
This struck me in the heart. So much pain in the world, and yet i feel powerless against it all. 💔
This is really powerful. Made everything feel still while I listened.
"Walk through the graves of millions and ask if honour mattered"
Yeah, I just might.
Sounds like a sobering trip, and honor is one of my least-favorite virtues anyhow.
All of the lyrics are really clever, but these lines are really just sublime and incredible:
War isn't murder
Ask Netanyahu
He's got a psalm for that
He's got a bomb for you
War isn't murder
It's an old desert faith
It's a nation state sanctioned righteous hate
Looking forward to hearing more from you, your voice is very much needed.
truth
I never regret clicking on a Jesse Welles video.
I love this. I've been thinking a lot about how media and powers that be try to desensitize us to things like what are going on right now in the world. This is a great song that really expresses how I've been feeling lately. Thank you for this.
Thank you

This veteran would like to thank you for this song.
I love this honesty.
Why isn't this guy a huge star.He really has something to say ❤☘️🇮🇪
Because he didn't sell his soul yet.
What?? This is a NEW song, this is a TOPICAL, ANTI WAR, PROTEST SONG? And it's PERFECT? I'm speecheless.
I can’t even express how good all of everything was. The lyrics were written with so much understanding making it really touching to hear. Plus the melody was so sweet and funn. So cool!!! Thanks for making this:)
It's make me remember line from the song: "Dead cannot be warmed by glory, no matter who warms them".
Still 100% convinced Jesse tripped and fell into a time machine, visiting us from 1968
Absolute poetry man🔥🔥
This is why I love youtube. You can find such magnificent stuff like this, with authors that create such beautiful works of art which evoke such strong feelings. Just stunning work, will definitely be following. Thank you ❤
This needs to be on Spotify
It's right here
i think he said its coming out on spotify soon
now you are getting somewhere young man.... its about time your generation put out some music like this. I think takes desperate times for desperate music to be made. you are a true gift to us all brother ... this old man is gonna find your tour schedule and try to make a gig. cant wait
I used to learn songs out of old issues of Sing Out! from the 60's. This reminds me so much of Draft Dodger Rag by Phil Ochs. Great work.
Haven't heard something this powerful in a long time. Keep it up, man.
Keep sharing Jesse! Love your music!
This is some profound shit. Good message and good melody. You're great at this. Keep spreading your message man
New favorite artist unlocked. As an Appalachian, every song this young man has put out has hit me right in the fuckin' soul.
I love this. You’re incredible🩶! I can feel every emotion in your voice. It’s so gritty and real.
Going to Anchorage to do hospice care for my friend who took Ozempic for a year. She's wasting away from cancer but she reached her goal weight.
I'm so sorry 😔 words fail
So sorry. You’re a good friend. Sigh. These things that shape our worlds. Go weave your love into the mix. Blessings.
Absolutely amazing, thank you so much for telling the truth. This is the music the youth is going to gravitate toward, we need the truth now
Every once in a while you get recommended something like this from the algorithm and it reminds you how talented we can be as a people, and how we can care about something very deeply.
This shit is so good man. So much heart in every line. Fantastic work.
Wow. Hard-hitting lyrics to say the least. Great performance thanks for sharing brother!
These lyrics hit real hard! I’ll just be listening to this on repeat for the next month (whether in my head or here)
Great song. And what a voice.
