To anyone having trouble with sliding the cover back: use the controller to position the sunroof In the transition between vertical and horizontal position. The roof should be lowered and just about to move horizontal. There is a sweet spot, find it with the controller and the ceiling cover should slide freely.
I have a Camry but same idea, Excellent video. I've Never worked on a sunroof and now you've given me the know how to move forward. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!
You don’t need to disengage the motor. I just turned the accessories on and used the motor to push everything forward. That’s after removing the top bracket and the connected pieces in front/connected
I own a Hyundai Sonata 2013 with a panoramic sunroof. There seems to be power, but the engine just wont move the sunroof at all (there is a click sound -indication of power, as its reacting to the button push). So this video, despite it being a guide for a different car, gives me an indication what Im dealing with! THANK YOU! Wondering if you know, where would be the best place to order the parts for my Hyundai sunroof, if needed?
Question. So I did everything as you stated but I'm having an issue because the sunroof will not go to the permanent closed position. It will either tilt at the way up or open all the way. . No closed position unless you inch it up slowly to have it looked closed. Please any info would help
Hi! Great video! And the only one showing the metal sunroof dissasembly I own a E39, and I have a problem reveling the three nuts, the shade cannot slide back...nothing is broken, fabric on the shade came of, and i need to disassemble it to glue it back in place...Do you know how can I slide it back to access the nuts without braking shade?
Thank for your video, my 2001 e38 sunroof does not close completely, as soon as you try to close it, right before it closed it open and the inner liner goes with it under the headliner.Do I need to remove the headliner
Many thanks about your video. Please i have problem with the interior panel. When i try to little open the sunroof don't moving the interior panel.i don't have problem if try to full open the sunroof .Please help me if you know. Thanks
I’ve removed my sunroof panel 4 times and had success with installation every time. However this last time I had it off for reupholstering the sliding shade panel interior piece and now I’m having an issue with that panel. When I open the sunroof back all the way it works fine and closes fine but For whatever reason when I use the tilt function the sunroof tilts just fine and the fabric panel slide back just like it’s supposed to but when I go to now lower the sunroof back down to the untitled fully closed position the interior fabric panel does not slide back forward to close with the sunroof ? And then if I forget to slide it forward by and go to open the roof it gets caught up. It’s really annoying and I’m curious if anyone sees this and has had this experience before and knows what I did wrong this last time or did something break ?
I'm having a similar issue as I recently redid the headliner. Just to make sure, for the sunroof headliner portion you shouldn't use a thick material as that can get caught between the roof and headliner and not move. I used alcantara with no foam backing on that section and foam backed alcantara for the rest of the headliner. My issue is that the sunroof works fine when it slides back and forth (the headliner moves with it) but when I tilt the sunroof the headliner portion doesn't move at all but I can move it freely by hand. There are also some plastic clips on the tracks that could be broken as they become brittle with age as well as a plastic arm that is responsible for moving the headliner section back and forth when you use the tilt function. I guess I will have to take it apart again and check if anything is broken...
@@stvnjmz ahhh okay sort of what I was thinking it might be from but I’m not sure if the material thickness would have messed mine up ? It does have a foam backing and mine operates sliding back and forth fine and it will tilt upward fine and slid the headliner back as it’s tilting u but when I ask it to close and lower back down the headliner panel just stays in the up position and basically I have to slide it forward by hand 🤷🏼♂️
Great vid, quick question: I need to re do the headliner, how do you remove the interior roof headliner? Does it slide freely when you remove the exterior roof? Do you need any further adjustment later on? I notice you did the headliner job in black, nice! Thanks, G.
Thanks por this video dude. Im from Chile and my sunroof doesnt move anyway. it's stuck. so I need to know where do you find that's repairing tool?? and price approx. greetings and thanks for your aid.
hey am from Trinidad I have a 1995 Honda legend my sun roof does not open when I try am hearing the motor spinning I haven't took it apart as yet can I have some advice how to get it working
Thanks i fixed! But i have one problem, first open up side is ok the cover inside slip back but after I lower close roof down the cover roof inside car No moving .Remains behind.
Gracias por este vídeo. Fue muy útil para armar las piezas de mi sunroof de E 36 sólo que parece que me quedo desaliñado porque no abre parejo . No se como alinearlo.
Mine works in every way, tilt and everything but fabric doesn't move back a little like it's supposed to when going into tilt. Any idea what's causing this? Lastly when closing, the metal only just slightly hits front long black bar that springs down. How do I stop this from happening? Thank you
+VL45EX Hard to say for sure, but I suspect the small metal pins I pointed out in the video. I imagine if they are bent it could cause your problems. That's just a guess, since my problem was different, but if you pull it apart, you'll be able to inspect it better.
Sunroof legs are not broken, left rear 3 millimeters above right. In the case I mentioned, the inner floor is completely closed. Why might the right side be low? (adjustment slides fully open)
i know it's an old video but could you please (only if you have) load up a clip with the sound de roof made if it is broken??? thanks and greetz from Germany :)
If well maintained then nope :) You have to clean it and lubricate it regularly and clean the line that drives out the collected water from the rain. Same deal with convertible roofs, maintain them well and regularly and they will not fail you
dude that high frequency drives me nuts

I couldn't :(
My e36 sunroof cover only goes back a certain amount, I worry to push it back with force, should I try it either way?
@@castrellon213 maybe the fabric gets caught?

Where can I find the repair kit? So many websites to the link you have in the description

I needed this video to see how to remove the solid sunroof panel in order to re upholster the sunroof headliner. Thanks

Remove all your pillars(a,b,c), handles, visors, and the sunroof trim. Pull it out by doing what you gotta do depending on your sedan or coupe

Snake Eyes you have to get the roof to the position where it starts to lower the backside to slide under.

Hello
Once your car reaches 4 year old the sunroof starts to not work properly
If well maintained then nope :) You have to clean it and lubricate it regularly and clean the line that drives out the collected water from the rain. Same deal with convertible roofs, maintain them well and regularly and they will not fail you
That ending. LOL
this video has crazy amounts of high pitched noise in the background. unbearable
