E36 M3: Sunroof Cassette Repair - How to Fix a Broken Sunroof on a BMW E36 3-Series

- Since I have been driving the E36 M3 more as of late, I have been enjoying opening up the sunroof on my evening cruises. Unfortunately, it stopped operating smoothly after too many opens/closes. We took the cassette out of the car and show you how we got it to work. In our case, it was the metal stoppers on each side of the cassette that caused the cable to pop out, which then caused the copper tubing to come out of its socket. Mike F walks us through how we went about repairing it for good.

Mike is the Bob Ross of expert mechanical repair. I'm 100% with you Matt, so many cars had dirty fender liners at the car show in Boise a few weeks back. What gets me is I go out of my way to keep mine clean on my daily driver. It honestly only takes an extra five minutes for the whole car during the wash process.

Magic Mike can fix it. Fun when Matty interjected the dirty kid syndrome. Truth is, lots of people live like that. Just take a peak inside people's cars in the parking lots. Not so good. Thanks Mike for the great fix.

Man, it’s too bad my buddy Mark sold his Evo 9 three years ago. It would’ve been a perfect car for you Matt,he had the right brakes, cams, the nice Ohlins, Michelins, the right exhaust system. Just everything done OEM + I probably should’ve bought that car off of him or the ISF he had…

Sorry guys, i'm italian, i bought the same kit for e36 but i don't understand what is the white stik there are in the kit. In my car these piece was broke. Anyone can help me?

1. Forged carbon fibre roof (would it be any different than regular carbon fibre and would you recommend doing PPF over it?)
2. Suede on seats.
Conditions: Canada 🇨🇦. Not sure if we will be driving it in winter or not as of yet.
It’s a GR Corolla Circuit Edition…I know it’s not exactly up to the standard of a lot of your cars but we all know we can be obsessed with “perfection” regardless of what we have and it’s a mindset for life and not just cars. Do the best we can and continue learning to improve on things.
