- Replacing my sunroof slider clips, fixing my sunroofs' tilt issues. this is usually the case where your sunroof wont tilt up anymore but can still slide back to open.
usually I'd by a pair of these from Latvia on Ebay for 15USD, but I though it would be so much more convenient to be able to just 3D print a new set, also mine broke while COVID-19 was still causing a full lock-down in South Africa, so I couldn't be bothered waiting months for a package coming from overseas.

I print this in PETG, as PLA will get too soft due to the heat, I tried ABS but it was too weak and brittle, so PETG seems a happy middle, strong print, good flexibility and heat resistance.
If anyone has any requests of parts that have broken on your E36, let me know and hopefully I can design something and through it online to help anyone else.
If you are printing it to fix your own, ye mums or ya mates car and are not being paid to do so for the clip, then go right ahead and enjoy, though ntoe that buying the STL does not give you the right to sell my this design commercially.

Also just a comment: I am not a mechanic or a professional in any way, i would just like to share with everyone my experiences in the hope that i can help some of you out there to either fix or inspire to design and build things on your own. As with anything in life, do your own research on anything you want to attempt, especially if it may be harmful to your health (working under a car, spray painting, etc.), its always better to be prepared than to be in an accident, with that, be safe and take care. ❤

Howsit bro! How long did the clips last? If I cant manage to print them can I buy a set or two from you? I am in Cape Town.
Howsit! The clips lasted me about a year until I accidentally leaned on my sunroof from the outside while it was open and shattered them 😂 If you manage to print them your side you'll have to print in ABS or anything better to withstand the temperatures from the sun on the car. If you don't come right send me a PM and I can't print you a set and we can organise delivery, I'm based in Joburg👍

Will this work on an E91 moonroof? The smaller rear panel on mine gets stuck on the passenger side slider. Its either broken or gets stuck but it wont let the roof close from vent mode.
From the images I see on Ebay for e91 sunroof kits, it looks like a completely different slider clip design is used :)

Export settings in my Autodesk were wrong, I've uploaded a fixed file now, let me know if it works.
The length of the clip should be 54.306mm

Sunroof legs are not broken, left rear 3 millimeters above right. In the case I mentioned, the inner floor is completely closed. Why might the right side be low? (adjustment slides fully open)
Perhaps try lowering the adjustment slide on the one side to half or all the way to minimum, and keep the other side maxed out? that should help level it out.
@@adrianmartinescu1107 Adjustment slider on both sides is highest. one side low and one side high. the difference is 3 mm. If I lower the high side it both side stays lower 3mm. When the sunroof is closed, the sunroof sheet stands 3mm lower than the roof sheet.(By the way, there is no problem in the operation of the sunroof). It would be better if I ask you with the photo, can you tell me where I can reach you ?
@@tolga36uyan sounds like the motor stop point that "clicks" the sunroof into the closed position is off by a little bit. Super easy fix, and it's in my other video as well where I install a new sunroof👍 basically you'll manually move the sunroof to the level closed position with an Allan key, then remove the motor from the sunroof to recalibrate, and then pop the motor back in and it'll be good👍 I'll send you my details and we can chat if you still stuck
