Came back to this video. I focus on shoes only from the goodwill bins. My average cost per sneaker is $2-$3
Average sell profit is 35-45 and I sell about 3-5 shoes a day.

I'm ready to get off the fence. Bottom line is that change is scary and especially going into 2023 with the economy so unpredictable. I've been working for my entire life in the legal profession, and I hate sitting all day - it's super bad for your health. I've had an ebay store for many years with approximately 400-500 items, and I've done pretty good. I'm familiar with the processes and know I could earn so much more than my 9-5 job but want to make the transition gradually. I leave for work in the dark and come home in the dark,. At the end of the day, I'm totally exhausted so I'm thinking of waking up super early and listing my 10+ items each morning. Thanks for this video. It really helps to understand the ratio of how many items one must list to how much $$ it will generate. You're an inspiration, Chris. Thank you so very much for giving your time to encourage others to succeed. I really appreciate it.

Former legal professional. Yes to everything you said. You can do it. Consider covering a wall with your goals and include a timeline. Like an elementary school classroom. It might help in the morning in the dark. If it was part of your legal job you would do it. I remember the work always increasing. I don't miss my chair. Walk around the office and track your steps. Who cares what people think. NONE of my friends supported me. They still think I'm weird haha. It doesn't matter. Life can be really long if we're lucky. Lots of opportunities to change. Hello, I think focusing on the quantity is a strange approach. I think your income is more dependant on what you sell and the quality of your listings, pricing and sourcing. I list around 6 items and i sell around 3 high value items daily . I am a full time reseller for around 5 years and i am earning more than when i was doing a 9 to 5.

So in 2023 I want to hit 1000 active listings before Thanksgiving (I do RA so I sell new items and it would be beneficial to be before then rather than EOY). I'm currently at 600 active listings. I did the math and I need to do about 9 new listings each week PLUS make up for whatever I sell that week. So if I sell through 20 listings for the week and I need to be positive 9 for the week, I have to make sure by the end of that week I have 29 new listings up. Keeping the goal weekly for me I think will help me stay on track for my overall yearly goal of the 1000 active listings. I made a yearly calendar with MS Publisher and marked the target # of listings for each week so I know what to hit. LET'S GO!

I honestly dropped the ball on my eBay. My main store had 300+ sales was killing it but financially I had to keep dipping into my eBay fund to pay bills. So although on sales I was doing great by the time the end of the month I wasn't ahead. I took time off eBay to get straight an I came back to eBay an my account is below standard an Apparently have to rebuild the trust there. 🙃 This is 100% my fault. Just frustrated and mad with it.

Thank you for this video, very encouraging and seems doable. I am a full time nurse and would like to be able to go to part time or on call and be able to support most of my bills by reselling. I have some inventory but need to make more time to list at least 5 items a day.

Okay, so let's go with your example, I want to earn $50/hr with my reselling business.
Let’s say I am selling items I have at home already, to make it simple. In this example, it takes me 15 minutes to list the item, and after it sells, another 15 minutes to ship the item.
    So, 15 minutes to list + 15 minutes to ship = 0.5 hrs x $50/hr = $25
This means I need to make $25 profit / item in order to be earning a decent wage like $50/hr. But most items won’t sell if they are $25 more expensive to buy from me then the source I got the item from, ie. Amazon. In order to make $25+ profit I will need to sell really expensive items because you can’t just sell a t-shirt for $50 when it can be found elsewhere for $25.
What am I missing here? Thank you so much!! I am sorry if this is a stupid question!

about those Good American white pants: Vedic wisdom states that none of our clothes should be distressed or ripped as they attract negative energy (resemble poverty / rags / vagabonds). Makes me think of Kanye's fashion trend. Also negative energy from a Feng Shui Qi point of view

Hey, great video! I'm a reseller from Vancouver and currently have sold several hundred dollars in collectables since the summer.
I would definitely consider myself a novice seller but want to reach level 2. Currently spending 6 hours week only on business but I'm thinking more hours and same products? What do u think?

If ur making 2mil out of a Where house that's really good 😲 not to mention the profit margins must be great because you don't deal with alot of potential loss like theft and etc a box retail store making 1mil plus a year is considered a high volume store and they lose about 20k to 50k if really bad inventory

is there such a thing as "too professional" photography? im a director and photographer so my background in taking photos is extensive....i set up props and and color corrected the images, is that "doing too much"? could this scare off potential buyers?

No. Buyers want what they want. If you have items they want to buy listed at prices they’ll buy them, your quality photos will only help your sales.

I'm struggling with health issues after having just received a diagnosis of Graves Disease a few days ago. The symptoms really prevent me from doing my work. I push myself to do 10 a day, but then I might need a few days off. Then it's time to ship, and then I'm out of it. But I am on medication now! I have really great stuff and today and yesterday, I listed like 15 items. Baby steps. I mean, no one is viewing them but I can't control that side from excellent listings, prices, photos.

I just dont know where to find 85 items a week to list. I sell about $250 a week, listing 2 items a day, thrift (multiple stores each time) 3+ days a week. My criteria is generally, it has to sell for 6x what I'm paying (so i am making 4x or so after fees and shipping). That said I will sell larger items that i generally want to double my money on ($100 cost min and has to sell "quick"). Idk, im sure I could find more items if I bought items that I can make $20 on even if it cost me $40 i could list more, I just dont like having that much cash tied up in inventory... any thoughts appreciated
