Your resourcfulness tip really hits home! My first like, 3 years of reselling was mostly a minimalist journey, selling old textbooks and clothing that I didn't wear, 3 or 4 sales a month, with my full time job. Then I realized people did this for a living and started asking my family and friends for the stuff they had planned on giving to goodwill anyway, started thrifting for inventory not long after that, Now I have an extra room in my house for all my inventory, quit my full time job a few months ago and have been on the journey of figuring out what kind of business I want, thank you for all the tips and super helpful info!!

Agreed. I made a mistake in the beginning. I bought a target pallet, I didn't have enough space and truthfully it stressed Me out. I started going through what I have listing more than sourcing. This helped so much on my sales and "cleaning up" I have no regrets learning is important and thanks to RUclips people like you, I've only improved.

My favorite example of the profit to be made from elbow grease was a beautiful white lace blouse that I got for less than $1 at the Goodwill bins. Someone had spilled what seemed like an entire cup of coffee on it. I got it cleaned up, photographed it nicely, and sold it for $20. 😎

It's more of a hobby atm with just selling dvd, books, and board games. Granted I'm not making 100s of dollars a month but it's fun to see how things you buy for $1 can be worth 10x or even more.

I used to have a route of about 5 or so thrift stores per day 6 days a week and I found most of my home run items at the same thrift store that I would go to at opening every day. I spent about 3 hours per day sourcing and 1-2 hours listing. I was making a few grand or more profit per month doing that and only spent about 30 hours a week or less depending on how many items I had to list.

Beginners pls read: Your beginner advice is KILLER! Idk if newbies really value how true ur advice is…as example i started goin to nike outlets at beginning bc i LOVE nike/athleisure…also almost everything sells…problem is wit things like sneakers, u listing for higher amount….not everyone lookin fkr expensive sneakers all time…so they can take longer, which if ur capital ($$$) low, this can kill ur biz and ur motivation….i was watvhin wrong youtubers who had me buy studio lights, branding my closet, and just wasting soooo much time and energy….now i have giant mannequin and studio box lights that lengthen pic process by a lot…tryin to reuse lights and cut boxes up to make a giant light box shelf like u….if u new to this, please dont make my same mistakes! I promise if u follow this channel from beginning YOU WILL BE SET UP FOR SUCCESS
My main problem is i am in nyc area and have tooooooo many options for thrifting but also cost of goods is higher here…havent done gw bins yet but have two relatively close to me….although nyc gw bin shoppers scare the F out of me too…just feel like it HAS to b pretty crazy there

The thrift stores where I'm at in orange county California price jeans at $10-20, t shirts are $6-15. Which sounds crazy but that's how it is now out here.

We have a community dumpster for our apartment and every once in a while someone throws away a bag of clothes or electronics/different products that are in visibly good condition. I try to grab them and check them out but my husband acts like I'm absolutely insane 😆 Even if it's not worth flipping I like to at least donate it to my local homeless shelter. It drives me nuts seeing people throw away tons of perfectly good items. Sometimes they'll sit the items on the ground so others can take it but most of the time they throw it in the dumpster.

Livermore is hit or miss, but more nice stuff - $6.99 - $8.99+ /clothing items for all - GW shoes all $15.99 - they are set like a franchise. The time suck was notable. Per ebay rules buyers have 1hr to cancel their offers accepted. But after they're committed to the buy.
If a buyer asks to cancel order after 1hr do you still cancel order for them or just wait for ebay to auto cancel the order to avoid a defect?
