I know this is a 3 year later question but I recently took apart my T 5 transmission because im a dummy and removed that torx bolt and knocked the C clip off. After I put everything back (did not rebuild anything just fixed my mistake since gears+sincros looked good.) I cannot get my car into reverse and 5th gear is a little tough to get in. Im not sure what I could have missed when going back togeather with it +

Not trying to be an internet expert but I saw a video from the guy that "wrote the book on T5 s". Says no need to remove that torx bolt and to use anearobic sealer not silicone. Was on Eric the car guys channel
I was expecting them to bead blast it or similar. Dad was an aircraft engineer. Used to say a craftsman pays as much attention to the parts you can't see, as the parts you can.
You should never take the reverse/5th lever out. That is why Tremec put the steong theead locker on. Watch the ETCG video for much better detail on a T5 rebuild.
I got a new..er T5 5-Speed an I checked my gears an synchronizer's an everything an everything turned out good but I can NOT get it back together... I've tried 4 times.. So maybe this vid will help me I hope!.

Also, I noticed on the product page that it says "Please Note: This T-5 Transmission Rebuild Kit is NOT legal for sale or use on pollution-controlled motor vehicles." I live in California. Does this mean that I can not buy a junkyard T5 and install this kit? I am a bit confused by this.
This is my 55th Mustang and its the 55th Anniversary of the Mustang. I planned on cleaning the case and the bellhousing but so many people got mad at me for not doing it on video I might leave it alone lol

Yes it is and honestly I have no clue why it says that.
What is the difference between the T5 and the world class T5?
World class t-5 gears rides on bearing instead of just the shaft like the foxbody
