Theres great grindcore bands. Bro without grindcore and metalcore from the 80s you wouldnt have metalcore and deathcore of the 2000s. To me its has roots in Crust Punk and takes hardcore punk to the extreme. Interestingly sludge metal and grindcore fused into this really cool extreme style that encompasses all forms of extreme music. You should check out more recent bands like Dystopia, WVRM, Full of Hell
Do you have suggestion for sludge mixed with grindcore bands ? I love these two genres and I am curious of listening to it !
@@Agalloche There were a few, i recommend Soilent Green, Inertiakills or Today is the Day. I think powerviolence did the slow, heavy and fast as heck better than any sludge/grind band though. For PV i recommend Neanderthal, Sidetracked, Crossed Out, Agents of Satan, No Less, Third World Planet or Godstomper. Pv is similar to sludge/grind, but still very different.
Yup
Metalcore wasn't in the 80's. It has nothing to do with grindcore either. Original metalcore is influenced by extreme metal, beatdown hardcore, crossover thrash, without those, modern metalcore wouldn't exist. These bands weren't even trying to be metal and were more into hardcore. The next metalcore bands brought in a melodic sound influenced by melodic death metal. That's how melodic metalcore came along.
People think they have the same relation because of the core part.
Metal and hardcore were being mixed in the 80's that's why things like crossover thrash, crust punk, beatdown hardcore, thrash metal, death metal, black metal, were made in the 80's. So it's thanks to crossover thrash for influencing grindcore, metalcore and deathcore. But grindcore didn't influence metalcore.
@@SorceressWitch Well...
First Wave of Metalcore is Crossover Thrash and term Metalcore was used to tag Crossover Thrash bands in second half of 80's already. Continuum of that was 90's Metallic Hardcore and tag Metalcore was also used in Hardcore Punk scene to name such as bands as well, sometimes paralelly as Hardcore/Metal tag.
Changes came in early 00's when came to popularity Hardcore influenced (influences came from Old School HC, NYHC Style, New School, Beatdown HC and Post Hardcore) Metal bands named also as Metalcore.
Grindcore influenced Deathcore.
Cheers

It's a real shame when people talk about grindcore, the underground dogs never get mentioned, the ones that kept the old sound alive throughout the decades instead of going for the more clean sound of today. Or the experimental acts of the 80's and 90s, who many were criminally underrated.
All hail Warsore (Australia), Unholy Grave (Japan), Agathocles (Belgium), Rot (Brazil), Gore Beyond Necropsy (Japan), Dahmer (Canada), Denak (Spain), C.S.S.O. (Japan), Noiseslaughter (Germany), Disharmonic Orchestra (Austria), Blood (Germany), Prophecy of Doom (UK), Carbonized (Sweden), Xysma (Finland), G-Anx (Sweden), Dead Infection (Poland), Impetigo (US), Tumor (Germany), Arsedestroyer (Sweden), Groinchurn (South Africa) and Le Scrawl (France).
