I feel well treated 2 episodes Northern Mudlarks and Lost Towers in one evening . Just made my night this has. Having early night travelling down to West Yorkshire again in the morning. I’m glad you found that dolls head Alex. You two were the first I started to watch your mudlarking and then the Lost Towers and I’m hooked. Every episode delivers new adventures. Stay safe Gail and Alex.
I remember early on that you would keep so many bits and bobs no matter the condition. The delight in finding a scrap of a pipe bowl or any whole bottle would fill you with audible joy. I understand that you can only collect so many pieces of things and collecting smarter makes so much sense. I always look forward to your weekly videos. I am wonder if you live near North Umberland. I have learned that my family came from there.
In SW cental Florida..between Tampa and Orlando.. lots of flooding, many without power ( got ours back yesterday) .. many lost everything.. prayers needed for Florida still
We were very fortunate here in central Florida. Our power kept flashing on and off all night and upset our ac system.we were without ac for 1- 1/2 days. All is well now though
Gail and Alex, you are WONDERFUL! I discovered you during Covid and I watch every episode you do! I also very much enjoy The Lost Tower Diaries. You two are so sweet, nice, informative, interesting, clever, thoughtful, kind, courageous, delightful, irrepressible, personable, entertaining, and FUN! As you can probably tell, I am from the US. My mother always said our ancestors came from Scotland so I feel a real connection to you. Maybe we could be cousins! Thank you for your fabulous, enjoyable broadcasts! Please don’t stop! Thank you!🏴❤🇺🇸 Grandma Linda from California
Congratulations on finding the doll's head, Alex. I reckon the bit of slate you found was for students in music school to write notes on while they were composing a piece of music, perhaps for an assignment. Wow, what a haul of Codd marbles you both found on this mudlarking adventure! Congrats on your personal world records. My Granny Nelson was five years old when the coin you found was minted. She was born in 1893.
Gail/Alex -- when Nicola found an RAOB pipe, I contacted the RAOB and endorsed/promoted Nicola as a member -- for her discovery of RAOB relics and promoting their existence -- they were very polite, but they did say that their charter was for only male members (hmm, that doesn't sound quite right!) -- but they appreciated her efforts. You all should form your own RAOWB -- Royal Antediluvian Order of Women Buffalo!!!
The Order of the Ladies Glade is the Ladies ‘division’ of the RAOB. Although not officially recognized by the RAOB, it has happily existed side by side for many years. My mother and 2 ofmy aunts were in the glades.
I often watch and enjoy your videos both of your homestead and the mudlarking. I am from Florida, in Lakeland, which is more to the center of the state. Our electric came back on today, and so much more fortunate than many. Very grateful to be safe.
31:11 ☺️ Love the banter you both provide us. It’s so fun to see you smash the glass. It’s so fun to see you smash the glass. 35:53 I think your🩸sugar is getting low at this point. 36:13 That’s what I would miss if I hadn’t rewound it- a sweet little mallard duck, just paddling along in as best as she can in the swift stream. Thank you for allowing us to witness these beautiful moments in time, Alex and Gail. Curious, though- why was she alone? 36:28, 37:31 You’ve counted the 12th marble twice but I’m pretty sure that’s like your 16th Codd marble. 38:50 😂 You’ve both definitely lost count at this point. You could get and carry with your tools a little plastic clicker counter that you could click after every one. By the way, If you’ve not already seen it, look for the video on YT that shows how smart crows are and how they smash things to get food. I would love to see you guys get some more animals! I vote for 🦙🦙🦙 or a donkey. Please stay safe, Alex and Gail! Sometimes you two get into some precarious situations! 39:24 “There’s a fine line between mudlarking and madness.” 😮🙏😅 We, as viewers, have grown very attached to you! 40:11 I fell asleep watching you two last night because it’s so relaxing to listen to you. Never worry about you idling on with commentary. I woke up and re-wound the video to the last point that I’d remembered so I didn’t miss you guys do the round up in the end. If you just sat and had tea and talked to each other about your finds or whatever-it could be the animals or just the weather- it would be just as entertaining and endearing. ❤❤❤
Yay! I got my mudlarking fix. Gail, your bright and cheerful spongeware pottery was my fave and the doll's head (hairdo was called the Gibson) Alex found. Wow! That was an absolute record-breaking hoard of Codd marbles both of you found. : ) Stay dry and safe, ladies.
Hello again from Florida! Thank you for the well wishes. We got very lucky with just yard debris. Some of our neighbors took minor property damage but stuff can be rebuilt. No loss of life in our little area, thankfully. The closest tornado landed just a five minute drive from us- still no loss of life thank goodness but overturned cars and a large oak uprooted and tossed against a house. My heart goes out to those suffering major losses from Hurricane Milton and to all still recovering from Hurricane Helene. May all who perished in this hurricane season rest in peace.
Mama ML - u are not plain - u are beautiful & I admire your style, energy & independence. Alex - my great-great grandmother's name was Henrietta - she was called "Etta." Going to the river must be worth it just for the beautiful scenery. Thanx!
I just had the best idea. In your house by your door where the plaster fell off.... have you thought about lime plastering it and pressing in some of your best finds like a mosaic wall?
you do have a lot of Florida viewers! I've been watching since the beginning and am so happy others find you as interesting as I. We did well in NE Florida after Milton and Helene. It will be good to see this season end. Cheers and happy hunting.
I would love to see all your mourning buttons patterns stamped into clay so we can see the positive printed patterns! Love your content on all three channels! Thanks
I just love your videos and the ending results all cleaned up and displayed. So cool how you show them! Thanks for having fun discovering and educating your viewers like me!
This was a fantastic trip! I am so happy for your great finds. I love the cod marbles and was thrilled every time you both found one. I love watching the jar fill up and glow in the light from the sun. Stay safe and God Bless! ❤️❤️
Can’t believe how many Codd marbles you found! It’s a real event for me to find one on the beaches here in the East Neuk, I find many more clay marbles, but a marble is a marble, and always a thrill to find. Loved your little doll head too. 😍
You too are really making a holiday all those marbles Gail you said that one pipe bowl was plain like you, but you were anything but plain you are a very intelligent and beautiful lady and so is Alex I enjoy watching y’all so much❤😊
WHAT FABULOUS FUN !! You two are just spectacular entertainment . I only wish l lived on your side of the pond, l would so love to join you. Thank You for another terrific video ! Bless you Both. Cheers to happy hunting ❤ 😎
South east fl here. While we didn’t get the floods from the hurricane, we had the tornados. 61 just in palm beach county alone. Love watching you guys, been watching for a few years now. Always looking out for the jewelry you guys make on Etsy.
Blimey that was a fantastic haul of cod marbles. It boggles the brain to think just how many there are in that land sliding pile of the river bank. The dolls head was so sweet. I'd love to have seen her when she was new and loved by her owner, back in the day. As for the large tooth brush you found Alex, they weren't for use in the mouth. They were used to clean false teeth. Im sure you've heard stories of how back in the past and also not that too long ago really, when you reached the age of 21, you were traditionally offered to have your teeth out. (What a lovely gift 😬) saveing you from all the trouble and expence of dental trauma"s as you grew older. Thankfully things have moved on from then. 😁 xx
WONDERFUL FINDS AND WOW SO MANY COD MARBLES. I LOVE THE TINY BOTTLES AND THAT PIECE OF SPONGEWARE WITH J&T ON IT. NICE PIECE YOU DIDN'T TAKE.BUT OH WELL!! I LIKED IT WHEN YOU WERE WALKING THROUGH THE WATER. LOOKED SO COOL I WANTED TO SWIM BUT TOO COLD. LOL!! I'M GLAD THE HURRICANE PASSED YOU BY THANKS FOR SHARING AND STAY SAFE 🙏 ❤❤🙏
You are two must be part Goat to be able to manage the climbing on the steep river bank!! 😂 Your channel is The “GOAT “!! The greatest of all time!! 😊 love all the cod marbles. Loved watching you find so many great finds!! ❤
I'm GREEN! Greener than a Cod bottle! I'm not more than an hour or so from you, and even if I could come along, I am too old to go larking around on that slope! I would also collect some of those bottles you leave behind. Never mind. I shall just keep enjoying your videos on both channels.❤
Sending love from the Orlando area. Just lived through hurricane milton couple of days ago. So nice to have 2 vlogs from you guys to enjoy. Wonderful marble day!
The slate with narrow lines, has five lines looking like a musical staff. Music school?
That was my thought as well..
I agree
I was thinking the same thing 😊
That's exactly what I thought.
My thought too!

People new here might not know about the Lost Tower Diaries. I do so enjoy that channel, also.
It is a fascinating and excellent channel.

Why do beautiful people express doubt concerning their appearance 😢🌹😉 Please don't pick on Gail 😂!!!!

What a fun day! Thanks for taking me along!
Thank you for your kind words about us Floridians! Now, we're watching the weather with possibility of more storms!
I love the Vaseline jar/bottle! The shape is wonderful, it’s so clear and the font in nice too!

@@treysmith4638 Awesome! I did not know about that -- and my contact with the RAOB never mentioned it.
The piece of slate with the 5 lines is for writing music notes.
That was a huge haul of codd marbles! You've got to go back to beat your record!
Yes music.
YES! I was going to say, that is for learning the Treble and Base Notes!!!
How EXCITING!! What a Find!!!! 🎼🎶🎵❤
Great fun today, awesome number of codd marbles. Stay safe, thanks!

Just curious, can you not sell the very old bottles that you find online?? Many may wish to have some but nowhere to buy or find them 😊
Yes! I would also love to be able to purchase some of these old jars and bottles.

I'd like to buy some Codd marbles.

About the tooth brush, It's great! Loving the handle. AMA has showed interest in the older wide brushes, saying they promoted healthy gums.
