I am glad you braved the rain and found all these lovely treasures to share. Thanks for still hiding Charlotte on the finds table and for your stunning nature shots!!
The coin with a hole in it, Jason from Modern History TV spoke about lead coins that were given to the working poor that the amount represented, ie; sovereign, could be spent at local food markets and the merchant would punch them indicating they were spent. 🤔. 🤗❤️🌈🙏🕊️
The lead coin is created from a real coin of the time. The silver crown with this design was a popular coin because it was associated with King George. It was common for people to turn these coins into jewelry. You can find many that were enameled and turned into brooches. The coin was likely molded similarly to the way Alex makes sand castings. You can see that not much care was taken in the actual casting of this object, by the fact that there are bubbles all over the casting.
Just a thought, the stone you found with the grooves in it, may have been used to sharpen knives, or even been to used to sharpen flint knives or arrowheads. Hence the V shape grooves.
Agree. I have a large Native American collection and I think that is a sharpening stone, but could have other uses as well such as holding cordage . I have seen similar stones called sinew stones but those typically have smaller grooves. So I suspect it is a sharpening stone
Beautiful finds, ladies. I was fascinated by the school desk inks. Our desks in grade school had holes for the ink pots, but I didn't know what they were then. Thank you for the history lesson! 😘
The stone with the grooves is either native peoples or neolithic abrading stone. Awesome find! A friend in the U.S.A. Georgia, found one very similar by a native Indian tribe but is believed to be neolithic. Love all your finds!
I remember using inkwells at school when I went into the senior school, that was in 1966, we were supplied with pens that were like a wooden stick with a metal nib on the end and we were given blotting paper too. We had to fill up our inkwells from a large bottle with a curled metal tube like a metal straw on the end. We were allowed to use fountain pens in the second year of the seniors, later we could use ball point pens that were issued by the school.
I remember those pens in the late 50s/early 60s. If you got one with a damaged nib they were a nightmare to write with! I still remember my biology teacher’s comment “ what is this , a most untidy last page! “ Considering she had handed me the pen I thought this very unfair especially as she deducted 10 marks from my workbook, this was 60 years ago and you can tell it still rankles 🤣
Sick for two weeks, finally catching up. What a great soggy lark ! So many interesting treasures ! Thank you so much for taking us along, it's always a good day sharing time with you both ! Stay well. love and hugs 🥰🥰 xx
I'm hoping that you start a mudlarking museum at some point so we can come and view your treasures. Everything is so interesting. You could have a little tea room and gift shop where we could buy things made from your finds and see the shwoos and chickens.... just a thought... 😄
They do sell things made from the finds. See links above. And the museum ( kinda ) is coming soon. Don't know about a Tea room at their home? Never know??? I'd enjoy it for sure. They have found some amazing tiny artifacts.
EXCEPTIONAL FINDS INCLUDING THE POTTERY WITH THE PINK FLOWERS I LIKE THE BEST. LOTS TO WOW OVER AND NEVER KNEW A MOTH COULD HAVE SUCH INTRICATE DESIGNS ON THEM. TREASURES TO MAKE WITH. WOULD LJKE TO SEE WHAT YOU MAKE OUT OF SOME OF THESE TREASURES. ALWAYS HAPPY TO SEE BOTH OF YOU AND THE SCENERIES, EVEN THE RAIN IS CALMING. THANKS FOR SHARING AND STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY ❤🙏 KEEP BEING BLESSED.😅❤
Let the happiness shine from 2 of the loveliest we all like. Why can't life be like this. No swearing fantastic from are Steven from South Elmsall/pontefract. Love you all ❤❤❤❤🎉
I stop regularly on the harbour in Berwick, overnight in my truck on route to Edinburgh, I walk into town and always stop on the bridge looking in the tidal river, I always wonder what treasures could be hiding below, maybe you'll find viking artifacts one day, happy hunting.
Cool finds. The Sterling pin may be a Graduation pin? And the chain is awesome. Of course everything is awesome. Thank you for sharing your adventure and many blessings from Colorado, USA.
Wow this is an amazing haul, the stories you were able to find….extraordinary! Wow congrats 🎈I can’t find a favorite I love all your finds ladies, thank you for sharing the stories too! Grand! 👏🏻be well. 🌷🌷
Hello 👋🏼 I enjoyed the history of the gems you both found. It was a wonderful lark you were picking up things left and right. I hope you have a fantastic Thursday and upcoming weekend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
I think the tooth is a front tooth of a horse. Also the little oval shaped brass piece with a hole in it is a cover that goes over a keyhole. Love you ladies. ❤
Interesting finds on a rainy day. To me, it looked like someone had tried to shape the stone into an animal with 4 feet and a face, perhaps a bear. It looks like it would make a good worry stone. A good day despite the rain.
Wonderful vlog. I think maybe the horse man was worn as a medallion. And it would be two hundred and twenty years old. Loved the adventure! The chain is lovely. I think the stone might have been used as a sharpening tool for arrows or knives or both. Sending hugs!
Considering you didn't think there was much to find on this lark, it seemed that you did actually find some very interesting pieces after all. Great job and thanks for taking us along. Let's hope next lark there gives you even more interesting finds. X
It is incredible what treasures the earth holds. I love watching your videos! I want to start mudlurking too in my country. I just need to find a good place now :)
Am I seriously the 1st to comment? 😮 At 11:00 that's a chape for a shoe or knee buckle. My goodness ladies, you only had to find that one area of the shoreline and all of the very cool things were everywhere 😃 bravo on finding so many work things!!
Hoping to see some of these bits end up in jewelry, I love seeing what you make. Do you keep photos of your creations? Maybe a place we could see like Pinterest?
You too are the greatest that would be so much fun looking for the little treasures that you find I used to hunt for Indian artifacts. My legs won’t take me around anymore but I found a lot of spearheads tomahawks broken Indian pottery. It was so much fun. Stay safe be happy. Love you too.❤😊
So glad u continued searching in the rain - u found some really great treasures. The ruler metal, the weight, the watch chain & the ink well very interesting. Thanx!
Do you have to turn the things you find in to the government like detectorists do with the old coins and hordes they find? Such wonderful things you have found.
That lid with the flower pattern on it will make a lovely cookie press. Just make some sugar cookies or other dough. Roll into balls, set on cookie sheet and press the flower side onto the dough. They would be beautiful.
Hi you two adventurous ladies! Please get a second, professional opinion on that rock that has the grooves....it looks so man-made. Great job, great eyes!!!
The lead coin with hole, could be how a person puts a string through to carry money. It might be interesting to take to museum to check it. Lots of Love, Light and Laughter Forever!
Just started watching your videos and it's quite interesting... finding a lot of cool and old things... Why didn't I thought of the idea when I was still in Suffolk England...
This mum & daughter share such an incredibly beautiful relationship
They certainly do. Its refreshing to see a respectful mother daughter relationship
I miss your jewelry making videos. 🙂 💖
That glass lid would make a great cookie stamp! So pretty!
@@wendynordstrom3487 oh wow, you're right. A 🌟 design
Even a butter press
That’s what I was thinking too!

Talk on ladies, love all the history and comparisons

Nice to see you one Wednesday! I've been bored the last 2 days.
