    Been following her career since age 14. She is a phenomenal artist and definitely one of my favorites from the 70's. She's often imitated but never duplicated but she's also underrated. She's a living legend and a trailblazer whose been through the fire. Chaka you have brought me years of musical pleasure and for me you're an American Treasure. Love you all my lifetime ❤️🙏

    I still don't know what Mary J. Blige was smokin' when she tried to do a remake of 'Sweet Thing". Mary J. is great at what she does, but she should've stayed in her lane on that one. There's three female singers it's best not to try and imitate: Aretha Franklin, Minnie Riperton, and Chaka Khan.

    Thank you for sharing this; must have missed this BET legend dedication documentary. I know she didn't appreciate Kanye sampling "Through The Fire" but it would be powerful if they collaborated. Chaka has done songs with De La Soul and Guru of Gangstarr and Ye's done songs with Charlie Wilson, Paul McCartney and other vocal legends. They owe each other a powerful jam and in-person true collaboration that could also clear up past beef.

    Her album that Prince produced in the 90’s ’s with “ This Crazy Life Of Mine” was absolutely one of best that she’s ever done. You can say what you want about Chaka, but when she goes into the studio it’s serious business and she gives every part of herself on every track! I wish they would release that album and Rufus’s and Chaka’a last studio album “ Camouflage “ on streaming services since as Apple Music, fans young and old deserved to hear her whole complete catalogue!

      @missmyasia  3 года назад +2

      It was the 1st #1 r&b crossover song to feature a rapper..... If we’re looking at it from your perspective, then rap was featured wayyyy before 1981 with Teena and Blondie. Gil Scott Heron (and others) was “rapping” for decades....
