Not to be harsh, but every person I ve met who is in their 60’s who used drugs ( during 1970’s -80’s) sounds like this interview. Most people in recovery are more enthusiastic about their sobriety, but something about her generation is that they seem to be more happy reminiscing about party days than any other time and are stuck in the70’s party in their heads. Even if they’ve lost friends, family, money , health due to the partying. While the rest of the world is talking about their kids, accomplishments, life and celebrating milestones, they always go back to the cocaine, club days. It hard not to relapse when you’re chasing both a physical high and memory high. She’s laughing about getting high with three people who are all DEAD, all related to complications of drug use. Natalie Cole, Prince and Rick James. She’s one of the few who has survived but I don’t think she understands she’s lucky and she is definitely still using, she’s fidgety and shows other signs.
