Todays video is a quick demonstration of the parallel parking feature of the 2019 Ram 1500! With this size truck it is nice to have this option for tight parking spots and the two times we did the test it went perfect! Very reliable to use when needed. I'm a Sierra guy, but that Ram truck is looking sick! Might have to trade in my '17 Sierra .
Once you see and touch the Longhorn trim. O.M.G. you will immediately want to buy vehicle

Chilar6 - good call because I'm doing the same thing but switching from Ford. That Ram is way better than my 2019 F150 and I just can't take all the squeaks and rattles from my Ford any longer. That and water got into the tail light, and my panoramic sunroof failed! The Ram looks better too so the dealership is giving me a good deal on trade and I can finally get into one of those great Ram trucks...CANT WAIT
@@kimojon9665 I think you will REALLY LIKE the new Ram, I have a 2019 Ram 1500 longhorn with air suspension and 22's. I put some Toyo open County at3 305/45/22 on it. It has the mountain brown interior and the exterior is triple pearl white, it also has the embroidered seats, 12" screen, locking rear axle, and all the cool technology. Mine came with the towing package so it doesn't have the surround camera view due to the towing mirrors, and mine doesn't have the ram boxes, other than that it's got everything else they have to offer on it. It's been a REALLY AWESOME truck. I get TONS OF COMPLAINTS ON IT. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have.

I love driving my crew cab 6 foot bed f150 in Seattle. I also love parallel parking or parking in general in Seattle. Luckily my truck has every whistle except self parking package.

oh wow. lol I don't see it being that useful of a feature to be honest. Where I live I've never had to parallel park ever in the last 12 years. So I'd never use it
Great trucks! I have had the opportunity to drive a few ‘19’s. Just not sure of the long term dependability. But I guess that’s with the others too.
That spot was super tight, my Ford F150 needs the size of California or it won't eve try to park, it's useless. Another reason I'm switching to Ram. That Ram is so beautiful, love the look and all the features. Oh, and the Mega Cab Ram, Damn that thing was nice!!!!!!
You should not buy a pick up, if you can’t parallel park it.

Personally, I grew up in the city and have no problems. In fact I grew up in a country where we don't have full sized trucks. Got a 1500HD as a rental in the states a couple months back... Piece of piss parking it.

I don’t live in a trailer park, I drive into the city 5 times a week in Toronto. I can parallel park like a fucking boss without cameras or sensors, which my truck does not have any. 8” lift, 35” tires and 8 foot long bed. Never had a problem in 14 years parking on streets. Go back to a Prius, because real trucks aren’t for you. I hope your back up camera don’t break, because you will be dependent on technology rather than share skill.
For me the ram and tundra are my favorites. The ram has all the tech and looks that I like but I’m concerned about having issues. But I do have a 4Runner as backup. Great looking vehicle!
can you show the brake assist or does the truck not actually stop completely before rear ending someone ?
These new rams are the best looking trucks out there. I wish dodge would have amped up the power more. That hemi is being kept up with non v8s.
So for a drivers test can you do that or does it have to be manual

One major software mistake. ... not shifting to the front camera. That is lame. My AUDI Q7 does it correctly.

So how does it do when parking in heavy rain?
It was Lexus who first introduced this feature in Japan in 2002. Then Lexus LS bought it to the US in 2007. So Ford not Ram did it first. It was Lexus/Toyota who introduced this tech to the world first.
What I don't see at the dealers alot is the ram box for the new 2019
or the ecodiesel engine, except in the classic... Rambox vendors had a issue with the manufacturing in the new gen 2019 1500s... so late availability on rambox..

people always forget. the art of every parking is the first angle where you first stop to park. get the first angle/ position right, the rest is easy.
In a few years, people won't know how to drive,technology is making us human less smart, if you are a good driver you don't need to used the features in a truck,then again I know there is many driver that can't even park a small car in this spot.

Huy Thai I understand you point of view, and yes new features help today driver park their car,but remember something a real driver park a car with out a backup camera, I know this, I used to be a truck driver, I own a business now, I don't that job anymore. But times change and now a car is líke a smartphone.

I'm not too sure what's in your truck. Maybe take a look around and see if you have the same buttons in the truck I filmed. I'm not sure if a Laramie is a lower trim level or not.

That was so slow, man trying to park that thing like that in traffic would get you a lot of honks! Sure it was a relatively tight spot, but I could do that twice as fast with a backup camera.

Yeah but my F150 Sucks to use the parking system. You need three to four times the space that the Ram did it in. My 2019 F150 would ding ding ding and say "space not located" SUCKS. My Ford is not as good as I though it would be at all.

I'm curious how reliable this technology is as far as lasting without a problem..we all know hoe Dodge has a bad record as far as reliability goes, especially gadgets and electrical...I am curious about the reliability of the mechanism on any self parking auto really, not just Dodge Ram...Imagine all the various things that go into this!! Repair NIGHTMARE in say, 5 years? Well for Dodge, maybe only 2 years!

My brother in law has a 2014 Tundra and he's had more trouble with his truck than all of the Rams I've had since 1996..I had only one problem with a 2007 Ram 2500, the A/C compressor went out on a vacation trip to death valley and the nearest Dodge dealer took it right in and I was back on the road in 2 hours free or charge.. In 1996 I had the 80th Indianapolis 500 Dodge Ram 1500 in blue with white stripes. 1998 Ram 1500 quad cab 4x4 Laramie, 2001 Ram 2500 Cummins quad cab 4x4 SLT, 2007 RAM 2500 Cummins mega cab Laramie 4x4, 2016 Ram 1500 crew cab 4x4 Laramie and now the 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie longhorn 4x4 crew cab the best Ram yet by far. I have always traded up on newer trucks but I can't imagine a BETTER Ram than this one so I plan on keeping it. I doubt any other automakers will match the level of the interior of this Ram Longhorn, it may happen in several years but then again my 2019 Ram will still be current in style and design. Ram interior looks 8-10 years ahead of the other brands.

Oh great now drivers don’t need to learn how to drive this feature should be banned learn how to park! I also have the world record for tightest parallel parking with a caprice so it’s good to practice daily do it please
I think it's a great feature! Especially for the size of the truck. I do agree that should be something you should learn, however, if you are buying this truck, chances are you aren't in the city often or parallel park regularly, so no need to practice if you do that once a year or less frequently.
If nothing else it will teach some dumb drivers how to parallel park lol. Now if only it could teach them how to drive, use their blinkers, not go 40 in the left lane when the speed limit is 70 lol.

This is a nice feature but I feel like this belongs in an S class Mercedes (for old folks). Us younger people should really know how to parallel park. Especially if you're driving a truck. If you're incapable of doing that, you probably shouldn't be behind the wheel of a TRUCK.

Congrats Ram you’re catching up with Ford, but Ford doesn’t get a lot of credit ever for being the first to do things. Just like a lot of people think that capless fueling hasn’t been around until Honda and Jeep started doing it, but Ford was the only one doing it for about 9 years now.
