All pickups right now are overpriced too much money!!!!
Truck should be a damn truck not with all the damn electronic shit if i wantef that i woulda bought a licoln town car. I want to hear the turbo not nothing
Elizabeth Gardner You can buy a basic truck, you basic bitch.
Caleb Wagner Guadalupe said a truck...not a car... there is a difference.
I bought one of these 2 years old for $24k with 30k miles,..... you just have to buy something slightly used and you'll do fine
Elizabeth Gardner I want my truck to have all the new gadgets tf for a long road trip I don’t want a small truck no shitty ac I want a beast of a truck like this ram
I stopped watching when he said “heavy duty shock absorbers” and zoomed in on the coil spring
I've been wondering if someone was going to mention that. I thought I was the only one
yep!
I couldn't stop laughing when he said that
😂
Y'all do realize that the shocks are mounted immediately in front of the coil springs on this truck, right?
You are absolutely the best reviewer by far...clear, concise, and to the point with no added BS....Exactly what I'm looking for in any reviews...Other guys go into too much detail, thus making their reviews totally boring...Thank you.
Man :( I just want a 1/2 ton truck with a manual trans, v8, non electronic shifting 4x4, 2 stout solid axles, steel rims and a radio... not all the extra fancy shit
KaptainKoolz you’ll only find that pre 2000
Spencer Travis guess I’ll just have to dream
That would be why im driving my 1994 gmc 2500 4 speed still lol
KaptainKoolz These bitch ass people with ass warmers haha
MrBadApple999 I would call them bitches too if I couldn’t afford them
once it goes 10-15k off msrp this will be an awesome buy.
Mr_ NutZ at least 15k.
R MH and your the type to walk in and just pay what the dealer wants... I got 12k off sticker on my 2500
Once the subprime auto loan bubble pops, maybe they will drop the price. We can hope. $50k for a truck with electrical problems during the initial build is a warranty time bomb waiting to happen. Especially one that so heavily relies on electronics.
R MH so since you only got 8500 that makes you the best negotiator SMH people are getting 10-14 off on rams sticker regularly
R MH lol we got a genius here who thinks 8500k off msrp is the best deal you can find lol. my dealership not long ago gave out 12-13k off msrp during the Ram month while there was a huge event going on around my county.
I just bought a Longhorn and I think your review is spot on!
to the people complaining about the shift knob:
remember when column mounted high/low beam light stalks first came out? people didnt like them because they were initially unfamiliar technology. but what is going to wear out more: someone stomping on a switch with a 20 30 40 pound leg or someone lightly flipping a switch with their fingers? same principle. you can wither jam a multi link shifter up and down with your arm or lightly twist a fully electronic knob. intrinsically a lightly used rotary electronic knob will far outlast a mechanical shifter
Try having the 4x4 and shift knob in the same location then tell me how you like it.. Go to put it in park and you engage 4x4 by accident.
Yeah we all have to be reminded that we're doing laundry every time we get into that truck
No truck is Worth 50k pluss. No matter what u put into it.
Pricing on vehicles hv got to come down and quality needs to go up.
Make a vehicle that will go 500,000 miles pluss.
Bill Peirce buy a Tacoma lol
Sorry, i don't speak welfare
Yeah but then they don't make money on the parts when shit starts breaking, which they design it to do after 100,000kms
Brenny627 Tacomas are literally the same prices. A fully loaded ram and fully loaded Taco are nearly the same price. Like within 5k
I got a 450 for 85k msrp and it makes my work easier. Totally worth it
We need tailgate warmers wrapped in leather, a full-on masseuse chair, and a hook to hang our purses.
They finally got rid of that, outdated antenna, on the passenger side fender. Nicee! 👌👌👌
Ram made some nice improvements to this one, Lelel0. Thanks for watching!
And the ugly front end
You can do that with any vehicle. I did an antenna delete on my 85 Chevy truck with an inside windshield stick on antenna
Great looking truck with a ton of options. Ram has stepped up their game these past few years. Probably the best option for someone who Doesn't need high Payload capacity.
amazing review. nice simple and quick. unlike some of these other channels that take up to 20min+
The maintenance when all of that starts to go down will be expensive.
probably around 30K miles, so still under warranty. But when the warranty is up, definitely sell this truck!
Or sell it just before the warranty expires.
I'll be a Craigslist special in 15 years. Dodge trucks seem to get destroyed in Michigan faster then any other truck or car I've seen.
Just lease instead of purchasing. Always under warranty and possible lower monthly payment.
The sheet metal is thinner than a beer can. That will be the first thing to fail. And there is no fix for that.
If the beds get any shorter, it'll be useless. Oh yeah, it already is.
Ram has been using the 5'7 box for years. Do some research.
Yup I hate how more and more trucks are making short beds now no room for what a truck is intended for
James Lagnese you can customize it to have a longer bed. 5’7” is standard. I got mine in 6’1” and 32 gal tank with full size cab. Also 8 speed trans is a must
I work construction my f150 has little over 7 ft I can carry 2×4×8 all the material that I need . without it hanging over my tailgate too much. My tool box alone takes up a lot of space. thanks for the reply
You don't have to get the short bed, though it's plenty useful for a lot of folks. My personal preference is the 6'4" because my atv just fits in with the gate closed. If you need more truck bed, get less cab or step up to a 2500 series.
Chevrolet is giving away a free dog with the purchase of a new vehicle. .. its so you wont have to walk home alone !!
Mike Norton
I owned back to back GM’s. I had to walk home from both. My dogs were at home.
@Rhetorical Answer Right! The sheet metal is thinner than aluminum foil. You can't even lean on it without causing major damage.
Lol 🤣🤣🤣
Mike Norton you way misspelled Ford 😉
good one!!!!
Nice video, but the first 2 minutes reminded me of what is wrong with trucks these days. I really want Ford to re-introduce a new F-100 with the 300 CID I-6 and a standard transmission, and the minimum of options. Give us AC, power brakes, power steering, and a rubber floor mats and monthly payments less than a middle class 1500 sqft house.
I bought a new '17 Ram as stripped as I could find in fact dealer had to find one a couple states away. It was a regular cab, 6 cylinder, 4WD which is what I wanted but it had 2 options I didn't really care about. Customer preference group which is power windows and locks, and the chrome package grille, front rear bumpers. Had 1 option I needed was tow package. That's it. Window sticker was $34K. Paid $29K. Base price of standard cab 4WD that year was $29K. That would be with black grille and bumpers, manual windows, rubber floor mat instead of carpet, no tow package. That was 3 years ago now so probably same stripper truck today is $31K at least and try to find one. Dealers won't stock them...perhaps 1 or 2 white ones for businesses usually but most of the trucks on dealer lots are $40K and up Quad cabs. I'm done buying cars this Ram WILL last me the rest of my driving life. I got the lifetime bumper to bumper every nut and bolt warranty with it that Chrysler doesn't offer any more for $3K extra but I think that is cheap insurance for a lifetime. Hopefully Chrysler doesn't ever fold....
Looks like a truck you would find in the Starbucks line
Don't forget the malls, restaurants, office buildings and anywhere else that doesn't require the use of a pickup truck.
🤦👍
Yeah... folks with high paying jobs.
Or jobsites
Stylish floor mats? Really??
Ram's words... not ours. Thanks for watching, Bruce Wayne!
@@AutoAcademics so if ram paid you to jump off a bridge you would?
Goes great with that Cappuccino!🤦🥴🤡👎
Dont blame dude...he's just doing the review blame trump, blame the Corporations, and Congress and the rest of your fun loving Shit heads you bow down And suck off
The first 2 minutes is a summary of why people who NEED a truck cant efford a new one. Out of curiosity I stopped at a Ford dealership that had over a 100 new trucks and they had 1 that I could find under $40K. Chevrolet used to sell WTs at their dealerships. These trucks normally had AC, AM/FM, automatic transmissions, and a V-6. Basically a fleet type vehicle, but sold to individuals and kept in stock at dealership. Need more of these for people who want a truck as a "second" car.
While it’s a very thorough review, I can’t help but think of “Reading Rainbow”
Same enthusiasm.
That price is insanity.
Terry Dolphin Its still cheaper than the equivalent pos chevy.
Price is entirely driven by demand. These could sell for $30k and they would net massive profits. It's just that they have trouble building enough verse the other way around. Average sale price is at $45k right now. Ram has an easier time than Chevy and Ford because their target market aren't work trucks. They leave the work trucks to the heavy duties. It's mostly people who want to daily a pickup.
Kevin Smith
Not really. It all comes down to tariffs and trade agreements.
Terry Dolphin d b
( and that is about $20,000 less than the really nice ones).
Dodge! Bring back real performance in a half ton short bed, regular cab pickup by stuffing a scat pack 485 horse Hemi with a 6 Speed Manual, and real anti slip differential. AC, decent stereo, and lightweight bucket seats, plus a trailer hitch are all I want as far as options go.
Paint mine in B5 Blue without any unnessasary BS and I’d be glad to buy another Dodge, er Ram.
We all don’t want to pull 30,000 pounds but many of us want to haul ass!
JDubya Adams You nailed it. My Ram has all the basics (2014 model) i even have a real key. 98000 mi so far with no trouble at all. None of that crap that's going to give problems later on. So i agree with you 100%
Yeah, manufacturers should start bringing out a 'Man's edition'..or just use the old designs again..
I know it's got a smooth ride and the huge rear seat area is so important for trips with friends or family. They won't be jamming their knees into the front seat. I think its perfect for ski trips or travel to the north in winter time.
The floor mats and the foam bottle inserts sold me.
No one seems to use a truck as a "truck" anymore. I rarely see any of the trucks on the road hauling or towing anything. Sad!
You mean a pickup
With large sedans missing from the market, crew cab trucks are the best alternative... minivans will rob you of your soul...
no one in their right mind wants to go off roading in that and comes home with dents and scratches. It's good for driving on roads with snow or ice but to really do some off roading i doubt if few or any of these trucks ever go there.
@@cat-lw6kq offroading is a recreational activity, a luxury. I don't know why people seem to think using a vehicle for offroading makes the vehicle valuable considering it's a luxury hobby. I use my new truck to haul dump trailers, and the box is plumb full of tools. I have a headache rack to haul long lumber. I don't go offroad because I just don't, but to me, doing that is just a luxury, like racing
Truck has a new purpose where I live. They are being used as commuter tanks.
I didn’t skip no adds champ 👌🏽 keep grinding my guy, dope video too btw!
We appreciate you, Tall Guy Car Reviews!
Tall Guy Car Reviews yeah and don’t skip tall guys ads !! :)
Tall Guy Car Reviews I watch all your videos and don’t skip any adds but I can’t go to still water fury on June 24th
Corey you the man. Love the videos champ! From Ontario,Canada! Get that mook.
Idiots
I find the style of these videos interesting. the way the guy talks as well as his faster paced B-roll reminds me of early 2000s TV infomercials
I hate the new front end look. Now dodge looks just like all the others. Nothing unique, just boring. Mopar what have you done... :(
Actually look at the 3 compared. They all have one LED lights making the need for smaller light housings. That gave the chance to optimize cooling. With that said, Mopar has held closer to their roots compared to the other brands. I personally disgusted with GM. Ford is ok, but modern/future. Ram has kept is simple and clean as thy always have. Its a truck, not a showcase and if you want every bell and whistle, they do offer it but still hold true to their roots of a classic country design. If you really have an issue with it, then dont buy one as RAM will not go full modern and keep is safe rolling out designs and options people really desire vs the BS crap ford forces upon people.
Yep the tossed that unique Ram hood and front end style. Don’t like it. I have a 2011 big horn in excellent condition and I believe it looks better.
that’s why they made the 2019 and 2020 classic. Forth gen will always be better than the new style and the demand for continued classic models is showing it
Personally, I would NEVER buy a truck like this and that goes for a GM or Ford truck too. I believe a truck is a TRUCK and I use mine as such. If I wanted all that crap, I'd buy a Lexus.
kman 4443 real shit
kman 4443 dumbest shit I heard
Then you aint too bright or you need some Q tips for your wax filled ears. A truck is a truck to many and used as such. Nothing dumb about that its called common sense.
I was thinking Cadillac. To each his own, but I agree with you. I had a lone star package on a 1500 Eco diesel. I didn’t use 95 percent of any of the extra junk, I now have a plain Jane tradesman 2500 and love it. If I want to shift into 4wd I have to reach down and manually move the lever, old school style.
So your opinion is that you can't have it all? It's all or nothing? That's the silly part about your statement. IMO it's good to have options available rather than go with the bare minimum for what you need. Extra luxury and more options don't make this any less of a truck. It still has 4x4 and looks like any other pickup truck. In your own words "a truck is a truck" - doesn't matter wtf options it has...
Great review... Love your camera work with the dynamic shots. Keep that up
Thank you, FrankypankyV8.
I’m a Chevy guy, I own a c6, iroc, Silverado and my wife drives a Tahoe. I’m close to trading in my Silverado for a ram... I love the power wagons.
B Ro
Smart move.
If you don't own stock in a company, go with the best for the money. If they can't step it up, let them go bankrupt again.
I saw this truck at the Houston Auto show. Very nice, fully loaded.
70s, 80s, 90s trucks are still better and are made to work.
2005-2007 Duramax
Second Gen Cummings 1997 2002
Ford 7.3
Current day trucks have the highest towing and bed weight capacities and are much safer in both being in and avoiding accidents.
Never selling my 92 D250 5spd Cummins.
Remote tailgate? Seriously? How stupid. Its a truck ffs! No reason for it to be that expensive. That goes for every truck on the market these days.
Even as a gearhead, I'm new to your channel. Consider me a big fan already. Keep up the good work.
This is so far the best car/truck review video, he explains everything about the truck! Great video
Thank you very much, Ruvim Bond. We truly appreciate your comment. Thanks for watching!
@@AutoAcademics thank you for the great video
I just got my 2018 rebel last week and no regrets
Congrats on the new truck, ad78. Thanks for watching!
ad78 u will.... it takes more than a week LOL
I had mine for over month, love it
ad78.. you mean " no ragrets"
it's only been a week dude
I wish they’d offer the 6.4 Hemi in the 1500, then I’d buy one. I love my 3500 Cummins though!
871jamie they do!
Special order tho
Andrew67777 since when? I’ve only seen it in the 2500 and 3500.
871jamie they had one at the dealership when I bought mine. It was a sport model with a 6.4 he'll special option, it cost 3500 more. It's just different heads and throttle body for the most part as the 5.7.
Andrew67777 well I have a brand new 3500 with the Cummins and a new camaro so I won’t be buying anything else for a while. Lol
You nailed this review in the first 3 mins, covering the features and options! Best review out of 30 reviews I just viewed. Stay with this script.
Thank you, Philly Anchor! We appreciate your comments. Thanks for watching!
My 2014 Laramie is already a spectacular, awesome truck. Can’t wait to move up to 2019 this time going for ecoDiesel. Simply fantastic trucks. Only complaints: alpine stereo needs to be louder, too much bass emphasis, and it needs a cabin air filter. The Hemi is absolutely the best engine!
Hemi is best .
I hate the knob shift
James Pelletier have you even driven one. Its perfect
James Pelletier that's the whole reason I got my Ford rather than the Ram. I'm NOT having any part of that shift knob
Sebastian York I have...a 2018 rental. All the while I was driving it I wasn't sure whether I was putting myself in gear, turning up the volume in the radio or fan for the A/C. Bad idea if for anything else, it's extremely awkward. Rule of thumb...just because you can do a thing doesn't mean you should do a thing. For me, I can buy a RAM. But, I'd never buy any Dodge POS.
PBR Streetgang wow u turned a year old joke into a paragraph
The knob is only for the 9 speed trans. You can get a regular shifter if you buy the standard 6 speed.
My 7.3 long bed is 18 years old and I ain’t Gettn rid of it anytime soon for any of these bs new fancy overpriced city boy trucks
Deathstroke 0331 always you dudes in the comments with your old shitty rusted out truck that you think is the greatest thing to grace the earth lmao.
@@savvyairsoft2408 built better, stronger, and last longer...
Great video. I like how you zoomed in on all the details with the camera as you were describing them so we can see what features you were describing throughout the video.
Thank you, Jason Glaze. We aim to help people make educated decisions on these vehicles. We appreciate your comments and thanks for watching!
My 2017 Ram quad cab 4x4 Express 5.7 Hemi averages 20-21mpg with the way I drive it. This is more aerodynamic but gets less mpg
siani69 nice I have a ram 2917 to 4x4 same engine I get 17 to 18 mpg
We still run 7.3s and 6.0s (Ford diesels) and they are loved by everyone here because the simplicity and they are workhorses. We got a few Chevy's (1500 frame) and some Dodge diesels. My point is, no one's making a work truck no more and we are using old tech and trucks because of that reason. We need to bring the early 2000s back so we can have the best of both worlds. Not to much tech, and built to work. Not this pretty boy Mercedes short bed looking truck.
"26 gallon fuel tank" like that's something to even mention. That's not a lot of fuel for a full size pickup.
Manufacturers design around a highway range goal of 400 miles, so figure around 16 MPG or slightly better. I agree that a larger tank would be an improvement and there is a 32 gallon option.
I just bought one and I love it!
Congrats on your new truck, Sid sharma! Thanks for watching!
I like everything about this truck except the price and the overall look of the front end. I really like how you reviewed this truck. I'm going to check out your other video's. Nicely done 👌
This review has the best camera work on RUclips!!!
Ah, thank you, Tony Witt. We've been working hard on our video production so we're happy you're enjoying it. If you haven't done so already, please subscribe.
We can use all the help we can get. LOL Thanks for watching!
Crazy price and so-so quality. I don’t get it.
Love my ‘19 Ram. I have the same one he tested with one change. I went with sport trim and upgraded packages because I don’t like chrome. I also went with the 4x4 off road package, which includes rear diff locker, skid plates, and 3.93 gear ratio. Tows my 30’ camper like a dream! Can’t stand the “off road” sticker though. Looks ridiculous on the truck.
I don’t know where they’re averaging 18.6mpg. That must have been highway only. I average 17.8 - 18.1 with my combination driving.
Overall, it’s a great truck. The 4x4 works very well, and, with coil springs in the rear, it’s the most comfortable 1/2 ton on the market.
Sounds like you have a sweet package, TwoGoatsRacing. Enjoy your truck and thanks for watching!
I own a 97 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 shortbed w/ 360 magnum and I love everything about it. It runs great and gives me no trouble
They must have asked ladies what they want in a truck.
Haha, funny truth
@Rhetorical Answer it's called a trademan buddy
@@MomboJumbo shh there to dumb to do research
Curtis Fink that’s why you see more and more women drive these new trucks.
Good God the bed just keeps getting shorter and shorter the next thing you know it'll look like a Hummer truck you got to have at least 6 foot bed better yet and 8 foot or else it is a car
Subbed because I love the energy of this guy! Great video!
Bought 2019 Ram 1500 Sport version 7 months ago and driven 10000kms so far. Not a single problem. A very nicely balanced and fully loaded truck in its class. Really good decision made for my family.
Wow... are we up to $80k yet??😂
DustyCowdog they will all be 100k soon, with lots of fancy electronics to wear out quickly.
Bald Eagle Hahahaha... yer right. Nice vid , by the way!
DustyCowdog fords been there
1987jeepyj that’s true, with their F-450. The base model XL without options costs $60,249 while the top-of-the-line Limited trim also without options costs $96,749!
Great video!! Yes the camera work is awesome!
Thank you, Stallion575. We appreciate it!
I have a 2015 Ram 1500 sport and this will definitely be my truck of choice in the future!
Thanks for watching, DusterMuster!
I bought my 2019 Laramie 4x4 with mud/snow rims/tires, towing package, rubber floor mats and a 2" lift kit already installed. I really like this truck and have had very few problems with almost 20,000 miles on it already. I also like that the center consul folds up into making a bench seat in the front.
Nice! Enjoy your truck, Netsurfer S, and thanks for watching!
10-20k needed to fix this, after 3-4 years of fantastic performance. The thing has Italian high tech crap used in alfa romeo ,Mercedes and BMW very expensive cutting edge technology, always goes to crap after few years
Guess you have no idea what you are talking about.
All I see is a bunch of whiners in the comments
Looking in the mirror, huh?
DoctorLarry that made no sense, but okay
Asv I agree
I guess I'm whining cause man these damn trucks are so expensive!!! Sorry to sound like a whiner but dude come on 55gs for a work horse damn!!!!!
@@Resistance_is_Futile01 you could always just buy a horse. Have you thought about that? That would be awesome. Haha
I have 2 friends that went from ford to Ram and absolutely love them. Unfortunately all trucks are way overpriced and almost impossible to order a plain Jane the way you want it.
I used to go 4 wheeling out in the desert all I can say is you better go as a group because when this new truck breaks down forget about fixing it out in the boondocks
I gotta have the 6' plus bed. Why would I want the 5'7 ?
it looks cooler, easier to park and back up, some people use their trucks for towing RVs and don't really need a large truck bed, the only thing I've ever put in mine are bicycles
Good_Dawg 😂😂😂
All mid size beds should be at least 6 1/2 foot long
David I'd get the crew cab with an eight foot bed but it's just too too long. I like the overall look of the crew cab with the standard 6 1/2 foot bed as a multipurpose vehicle more than the short box or 8 foot crew cab.
David 8 foot bed still exist. They haven't got rid of them. I'm in the market for a truck and all I see is 8 foot beds
Ram really stepped it up. Nice job on the review man.
Thank you, Bandit93gt. We appreciate your comment!
Solid review that cuts to the chase. Subscribed.
Videos are on point man, you know your stuff. All the details were spot on.
Thank you, Riyad Kalla. We appreciate your support!
Love the truck!
Hate the selector transmission knob!
It's a damn truck not a Quisinart! (Blender)
Torsee Agreed. I get that they did it for more interior cargo, but seems really out of place in a truck.
LOL Thanks for watching, Torsee!
Who cares what u think. It looks great and modern.
You also prefer the old radios with the tuner knob where you can watch the indicator move ?
Probably prefers rotary phones too
All the trucks are looking the same now days... you used to be able to glance at a truck and know the maker. This looks like a Toyota Tundra to me.
Doesnt look like a Tundra at all..
The salesman should know a lot more about the vehicle they are selling and know which features their truck has that's better than the other brand. The salesman should know exactly how their truck stacks up against the competition.
New Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 as 2018 (outgoing model) are selling for $34K here - fully loaded. That’s a steal when I was a sucker and paid $59K for a F-150 Platinum.
I have to never been interested in trucks, but now I can say that it is one of my favourite cars. Thanks for the review man
No problem, rRaedanisi Tawthasi. Thanks for watching!
Is it me? but i miss the old ram look from the the 2002's
asmodeuszv yes, it's you.
asmo: You aren't the only one. The whole pontoon fender concept wasn't necessarily the most attractive look ever, but these days the pickup front ends and all morphing into the same design. The Nissans look like the Fords, the GMs look like the Dodges... I would never buy a vehicle just for the styling, but I do miss the days when you could actually tell one from another without looking at the logos.
2002-2008
I liked everything from 2000 to 2018. These new 2019s look like wannabe Fords or a Honda truck or something. Can't stand the new Ram Style.
I just bought a 2002 dodge ram, love it
I'm a Chevy guy all the way, but the ram interior is so Nice. So much storage, big screen, huge cabin. Wow I'm impressed.
That was a great review, thank you. I'm now a subscriber.
Thank you very much, Utah Bigfoot Hunter. We appreciate your support!
Another monster size road rage ma & pa grocery getter to take the kids to hockey and soccer game.
You were doing good until you got to that rotary shifter.
I paid 48 when I bought my 2016 RAM Rebel...it has many of those feature you mentioned but after GPS got me lost stuck on a 4 wheeler trail muddy and 3 ft ruts, absolutely no turn around and straight up a mountain happened...my Rebel preformed above and beyond what I expected. Comfort of a car but power of a diesel. Buy Rebel and you will be hooked.
I bought and drove a used single cab short narrow box 4x4 with 140hp 6cyl for 18 years and still own it. Bought new diesel crew cab long box out of aggrivation from lack of capacity, necessity for more seating and want for adequate power. Figure it'll last me into retirement. Its relatively cheap in the long run even though they cost three to four times their worth when new.
I'm a Ram guy, but that isn't a pick-up truck. It's a SUV with the rear top cut off. If you got the money to burn then great for you, however the lower end models have useless feature in it same as this one. Pick-up truck = work truck. Disappointed Ram keeps pushing high features on all its models (including the 2500 and 3500).
You can still get a brand new bare bones 2017 model Ram truck for $26,495 or a new 2018 for $27,095. - and those are the MSRP sticker prices. You can probably get them a few grand cheaper if you find a good dealership.
www.ramtrucks.com/lineup.html?app=bmo
Agreed Jake, they aren't really work trucks. I guess that is not what people want, because you don't often see the base model regular cabs on lots anymore. Quick check on AT shows less than 30 base model reg cab pickups within 500 miles of me for sale. And some of those are not true base models... they are the reg cab short box blacked out boy racer trucks with 20" rims and Pirelli Scorpions from factory.... not work trucks.
Zachary: You could certainly order a base model with what you want in it... but then you'll pay full sticker price. Where I live I haven't seen any base models on lots... no end to the mid and upper range crew cab/leather/nav loaded models, but next to no base units.
Is that because not many people buy them or because the dealers don't make enough money off them or because the manufacturers aren't making many?
If it's truly supply and demand, then there should be enough supply to meet demand... which it seems there isn't.
I never buy off the lot. I either order what I want, or I hire a broker to find it for me. It also saves me a lot of money because brokers buy lots of cars every year and get volume discounts that regular customers couldn't even dream of. When I bought my 4Runner, the best deal I could negotiate was $41,000, but a broker got me the exact same vehicle for $36,000.
The broker thing is an interesting idea, thanks. Hadn't considered that. Do you pay the broker a fee as well or do they "keep" some of the savings they negotiate for you (IE: you pay $36k to the broker but they only pay $34,500 to the dealer for the car)?
What happened to trucks?
They drastically improved and became more versatile.
one word my friend... 'Consumerism'. personally I blame Liberals. But thats just me, I blame liberals for everything. haha
Rog er trucks don’t exist anymore hahaha
Trucks have become the modern luxury sedan, the auto manufacturers are just making the consumers happy because most modern families can’t fit in cars
brian britsch yea so they don’t care about making it last as long as the older ones, because they know most people will just lease them and get the newest one every year.
I've had the wonderful opportunity to take a new 2019 Ram 1500 sport (only available in Canada) for a spin while I was getting the oil changed in my Caravan and I can tell you I was grinning ear to ear, it was unbelievably quiet and easier to drive than my van! I was super impressed with the truck and I will be buying one once they are on sale. The same truck you tested is 81,000$ CAD 😂
Just bought mine today! Love it and I’m a Chevy guy
Congratulations on your new truck, Mike Lopez. Thanks for watching!
And what middle class, blue collar working man is actually going to buy this truck to use for work?? At over $50K, it's absurd!!
Thousands of them will.
Then get the Big Horn or Tradesman, get a quad cab.
A fool is always parted from his money.
People who will pay $750-1000 a month for this overpriced truck.
The higher end is more for people who make good money
I am really starting to like the new rams
Julian Rada yeah they are sweet
Julian Rada I have one, they are great, I’m glad and a proud owner
I will own one as soon as my Chrysler 300 is paid off
Man that tag line had me all the way to the end wondering what the point was, good job 👍🏽
We appreciate you watching, espaghetti99!
Best review I’ve found so far on the new trucks. Nice job.
We appreciate your comment, Mark Smith. Thanks for watching!
Fiat owns Chrysler which owns ram. So clearly this vehicle will have issues down the road. 😂
Haaha. BMW and Mercedes are worse..
thats what i was thinking..
Better and better depending on your outlook. When people who don’t need trucks buy trucks, they become more car like, and too expensive. 50K for any pick up is ridiculous. If it doesn’t have a clutch, I’m not interested.
Sunny Deng I don’t need all the gingerbread though. I’d be content with an old farm truck, they’re rugged, get the job done, and I can fix it myself.
Sunny Deng but with a manual?
Sunny Deng exactly
Sunny, Ram 2500/3500s can be ordered with 6 speed manual transmissions.
Joshua Taylor cool, but I don’t have use for a diesel, I’d like a 1/2 ton, V-8 gas, 5 or 6 speed manual, and 4X4 for $25K, but that truck doesn’t exist. It did in 2005.
Very nice review, appreciated the camera work so I had to give a sub. Damn do I wish there were more trucks in the Everyman price range though... 50k+ for a pickup, good lord...
It was good to finaly see a educated good truck review with stats, Good job dude keep it up!!
Thank you, joshua van scoyk. We appreciate your comments. Thanks for watching!
18.6 mpg? In your dreams.
I get that in mine but thats mostly highway driving, around town it drops quick
@@nottouch19 I used to get 18.5 driving for Lyft in the city with my 2016 F165.
@@blackericdenice i believe that, i average about 16.2 in the city
The all new 2019 tundra.... I mean ram.
Most people will buy the 6' foot bed because they NEED it. The buyers with the 5' 7" bed are (usually) (probably) buying the truck as a status symbol. They'll have a spray in liner with a drop in over the spray in, a clear coat, leather cleaner, a nice tonnow cover and maybe a couple boxes in the bed. Not what trucks used to be..?
New brake pads will sometimes smell in their first few drives. There is a chemical and physical reaction occurring where the compressed pad heats up as you brake and becomes all one piece.
if i wanted a pavement princess with all bells and whistles to blow my money on, i'd buy a benz
It is a Benz, Daimler owns Ram now.
Speaking of an expensive car with horrible reliability...
@@tybirous3417 No they don't. Fiat owns Chrysler, and RAM is part of Chrysler.
Go ahead no one is stopping you
Yeah man I’m keeping my 96 ram I think and I’m just gonna drop my cash on a g wagon this year and go off-roading in it. I wanted a newer work truck but why? I can’t see using any of these for work from fords to Chevy to dodge they all seem like expensive problems waiting to happen in the field
Those big ugly knobs for the radio or heater are ugly as sin. They don’t need to be work glove friendly Dodge. Look at this truck, nobody is taking this to the job site
Great review. You blow through the features faster than any I have seen but still fully describe them. I have a "17 5.7 and love it. They have added a bunch more features on the 2019, and they all sound great. The sound system on my Laramie is great, it rides smooth, pulls my trailer easy, tons of storage spaces. You should have mentioned the coil springs because they ride smoother than the leaf springs. The shift knob was odd but I am used to it and like the extra room. I wondered about buying a Ram but am nothing but satisfied so far, especially since I got it 12K below sticker during close out..
Thank you for sharing, Don Holm, and for your kind words, too. Enjoy your truck and thanks for watching!
Finally, someone mentions the sound system!
