I used to sell cars for a living and the issues you were having with your car as far as the dents and marks were 100% the sales manager giving you the run around but using the sales person to be the voice. I can’t tell you how many times my manager would have me tell the customer one thing and then he wouldn’t honor it then he would come in at the end and look like a hero. I work in the car business two years just to sharpen my sales skills and so I can write a book on the dark side of car sales. All in all, the sales manager is usually the person making your experience a bad one. Sales people have 0% control other than taking you on test drives and agreeing to numbers that the sales manager provides.
I really appreciate your honesty & exposing the dark side. I am on the hunt as of now & it's been very disheartening. I don't mean to sound "hippie" but I feel a person's "energy" almost 90% of the time. Every salesman I've spoken to personally has left me with that "bad feeling" I get.. like their intentions are not good. Can you tell me how I may find a specific model & trim myself??? I keep getting "baited" into thinking they've found the trim I'm looking for (without having to order) I then find out the truck is reserved or a buyer lined up (but wait there's more) ironically they offer me to come & settle for the closest option they have available or...order it😑 any advice for me?
wickedcabinboy it’s a long story I inspected the truck I wanted them they sold it in us and brought us this one that was supposed to be the same I HATE dealerships makes me want to buy a beater every 6 months and save that hassle
Just a tip I always keep a glass cutter in all my glove boxes so if you get a chip in your windshield pull over as soon as you can and take the glass cutter and cut a circle around the chip so it will not crack. This will stop it from traveling across the wind shield saving you hundreds to replace. Then you can have the chip filled so it is hidden for around $50.00 vs several hundred. This really works I have do this to 50+ vehicles over the years.
I wish I had thought about that when I owned wranglers. The shape and thickness of the glass meant you always got chips and chips were a death sentence for those windshields.
I just got a 2019 Ram Lone Star, And it has every feature under the sun, except 4x4. I Wanted that, however, I live in a hot part of texas and don't go off roading so no huge loss. But All in all This has been the best truck I have ever purchased!
I saw your truck and said, that's my truck!! I have the 2019 all black RAM Laramie. Have had mine for 4 months. On the auto unlock, I've not had any issues once I learned what locks it and what unlocks it. All a matter of hand and thumb location. On the GPS, I've had a different issue. Sometimes when I first drive off in the morning, it will show me out in the field next to the road I'm on. That auto corrects after a while and I'm back on the road, according to my GPS at least. I haven't had the issue of it taking me somewhere other than where I want to go. I have had that issue on my Harley, however. That GPS is a Garmin so you might be on to something there. One issue I have had was the backup camera will stay on when I start driving. I've found that if I punch up the backup camera on the big screen and then close it, it will go away and the GPS will come back on. As for the screen itself, yes it is freaking awesome. It's the nicest one I've ever had. When I have buddies ride with me, they comment on two things immediately. First is how much room there is in the cab Including the backseat. The second is the screen. They can't believe how big and clear it is. Now, all that said, I have to agree with the earlier comment about Tesla. My daughter has a Tesla Model 3 and her screen puts mine to shame. Of course that is all she has, no other gauges. Everything is on her screen. Loved your review.
For the salesman, I have learned that once the sale is made, they are basically done with you. Before the sale super responsive friendly and helpful. They will come in early and stay late for you. They will respond to text messages late at night or early in the morning. After the sale you should expect almost nothing. If you want something that could cost the dealership time or money you will be lucky to get a delayed text response. If you understand that, you will be more happy in the future. If possible, always make sure you do a good test drive and test everything before you buy, because once you buy, even if it’s a very legit concern, it will be very hard for you to get fixed by the dealership. I would have been easier to buy a different truck than fix something. Also never buy with the promise that they will fix something after you buy. This is my experience.
Jeff Hirata All very true! Unless you have a relationship with a dealer and dealership that you have bought vehicles multiple times from. I know that doesn’t happen with most people, but I’ve bought 4 vehicles from my specific dealership in the past 5 years and the reason my wife and I go back is because of how we’re treated before and after the sale. That I have to say has a lot to do with management and good employees. 👍
100% agree!! Not just RAM but also applies to all brands. I experienced what you described at Cadillac, Ford, Toyota, Nissan and Subaru. Subaru was the worst! This dont matter what year or decade either, this has been over 25 years, replacing cars every 3 years. Bottomline is it depends on each dealerships training and more importantly each individual sales persons attitude to making the difference or not.
One more tip. When you get a rock chip in your windshield to help prevent it from cracking before you use the glass cutter on the chip crack one of the door windows a 1/4 of a inch too keep from causing pressure when opening and closing the door until you do the scoring around the chip or chips.
I agree, cant wait to go to work to drive. Only options I don't have is moonroof and automatic rear window. Love the 4wd and the power it has. Drives great in Colorado.
I have the Big Horn edition. It doesn’t even come equipped with NAV on it, but plugging in either an android or iPhone and you can have GPS through the dash with no problem. That’s what I do with mine
Scotty Kilmer is a joke, his major goal is getting clicks and views so most of the time his none sense rants are nothing more than someone trying to be controversial to the popular opinion... it works tho! lol if people would really listen to him we'd all be driving toyotas form the 90s.
@@smartassmart Like ira rather said. it is only 2 years. even a dodge dart will be fine after only 2 years. come on people. you got to be smarter than that.
german80 i've been working on cars since i was a kid, i'm also pretty active in the ram forums, where we see all the issues (or lack thereof) from all model years... one of my good friends has been a dodge chrysler tech for over 20 years, so i'm pretty confident in my previous statement.
I had a 2017 Big Horn that had some paint issues. I filled out a survey with complaints of the paint and they reached out to me. They actually paid to have my entire hood repainted. I would recommend that you contact FCA about the paint, they are very responsive. I have the same 2019 truck and I love it! The panoramic roof is awesome!
Just purchased the flame red bighorn and I absolutely love it. Mine does not have navigation but I can connect it to my phone and use the gps on it. You may want to do this in order to have the most updated maps.
Just bought a 2020 Ram Laramie 1500 club cab night edition. I love it so far, only issue I had so far was the back up sensors automatically engaged the brakes while backing into my driveway yet there was no obstacles. Almost gave me whiplash it brakes so aggressively.
Great review brother. I just bought a 2021 night edition. I love it more than my 2 previous 1500's. Black is so tough. A little tip, take your truck back to your friend with at the detail shop. Have him do a 2 step paint correction, and the have him do a ceramic coating. It will help prevent the paint from the rock chips, and the black paint will look like a custom paint job. Good luck with the rest of the truck life.
I own a 2019 Laramie Ram 1500 and absolutely love it. I had zero paint chips and haven't had 1 single problem with the vehicle in my first year of owning it. I'm a first time truck owner and will be buying another Ram Limited in March. Amazing truck.
Your phone can interfere with the proximity unlock feature if it's anywhere near the key fob. I drive a few different vehicles and I've had this happen every so often with all of them.
I picked my 19 up in the rain too. Didn’t notice the dents on the passenger door where the ram logo is. I can see rubber Looks like it was hit with another vehicles tires. Luckily they told me to just bring it up there and they would take care of it.
This video is so relatable, I got a rock chip on my black 2019 the first week. Before 10k miles my windshield cracked from top to bottom, I have only hand washed it and it has scratches all over. Glad I'm not the only one with these issues
Just picked up a billet silver bighorn a few days ago ... love the black trucks also but too much of a pain to maintain . I worked in dealerships in the mid 90’s and I always tell people don’t take delivery of your vehicle at night or when it’s raining..... pick a nice sunny weekend or take a day off so you’re not rushed and can really look around the vehicle before signing over the check ...
I can’t agree more about the black paint. Had a 2014 blackout, gave up on maintaining the shine. I eventually switched to white when I leased my 2017 bighorn. Once you go black you will probably go back.
my next door neighbor has a brand new Z71 1500 in all black and it looks amazing. he keeps it clean though. definitely the nicest looking truck on our street. but i need to show him up with the Ram ahaha
Love RAM but my 19 was the worst. All kind of little issues but the big one was when the brake controller vacuum assembly went. Fixed under warrantee but only after 4 trips to the dealer and a 6 month back order on parts. Ended up selling it. Not sure I'll buy another in the future.
I will be getting a longhorn edition that's for sure! But my wife asked me "why haven't we got the truck yet?" I told her you never get the first year model! It's just too new, they haven't worked all the kinks out yet. The 2020 models should be better. Software updates stuff like that. But feedback from current customers will help, future customers like myself. So thank you for this video.
MrStaton352 I totally agree with your comment! 👍 I just figured I’d bite the bullet and do it anyway... lol! So far we love our 2019 Bighorn 4X4. We’ve got less than 2,000 miles on her, but totally happy!
Harold B. Vigil Sr. Good to here. It’s such a treat to drive these Rams on the open road. Getting ready soon to do my 2nd oil change and not a drop of oil used. Not like my other trucks like GM 6 litre and Ford 4.6. Now my other trucks were decent but this Ram is by far nicer. Better ride. More luxurious. Gas is averaging 21 miles per gallon on highway. (Not bad) doing 110 k’s. Great interior design and style all around.
I feel for you. The first windshield crack in my 2015 Wrangler was at just less than 3K miles. I need the 4th one replaced now at 76K. Just part of owning a wrangler with the upright windshield. Trying to buy a 2020 Ram in this market now. Thanks for the video, great work.
K. Murray They’re still both owned by FCA. Just the branding was separated. But that’s what happened 10 years ago. I’m not sure why you’re so up in arms, just stating a cool fact I was surprised about as well.
I have the same issue with the keyless entry where you touch the handle and it does not unlock. I discovered it is interference from my cell phone. When I put the fob in a pocket on the other side of my body from the cell phone, no problem.
I have owned black vehicles...something about black on all cars seems to be a soft paint, but it does look sharp when clean. I never seem to have the same issues with white or even metallic grey or silver.
The one thing that is irritating about my 2020 Ram Rebel is you can open the driver door and drive in reverse. I had a tight fit backing my truck in, I opened the door to see where I was so I did not have to move the mirror, the truck stopped, applied the E-brake and put itself in park. I thought something was wrong so I tried again and the same thing happened. Other than that I love my truck.
They don't make them like they used to. Camshaft and roller lifter issues are a big deal on the newer Hemi due to cheap metals or something. Tons of videos about hemi cam issues. I wanted one but after researching said not until they fix the issues and get away from Fiat
Regarding the tires: I own a 2016 RAM Big Horn, and it came with the Goodyear Wrangler SR-A's. They lasted 65 K Kms. (About 45 K miles). Never had any trouble with them, and they seemed pretty decent in the rain and snow. I replaced them with Michelin Defender LTX M+S tires. They're a really good all-round tire, but just a note, they ride much firmer than the SR-A's did. So much so, that I might go back to a softer tire. They won't last as long as the Michelin's but I prefer a smoother ride. I'll have to wait 5 years for the Michelin's to wear out, now! LOL!
Man...sorry to hear about the bad experience you had with the salesman. I had the very same issue with my 22 Ram 1500 Diamond Black Night Edition. I bought mine from Castle Ram in Chesterton, IN and my salesman was great. They actually said it was due to transport and off loading the truck. they sent it to an outside body shop to have the scratches and chips repaired.
After 3 years the only thing I wished I could do differently is I would have opted for the 33 gallon fuel tank. When towing my travel trailer I’m constantly stopping for gas. And the air conditioning sucks.
Im a tech...i was GM through and through but they have gone downhill trying to save money. Dodge used to be really poor, all the money was in the Hemi and the rest of the truck was crap I recently drove the 19 Silverado and then the 19 ram sport 1500. The ram blew the Chevy away. It will take me alot to buy another GM . Well done FIAT !
the ram is fine for a short while. I had three chryslers in a row with the ram being the final one. my work vehicle is also a dodge. my ram had problems with the screen dying, the tailgate would fall open by its self along with several more issues. my work dodge has been in for repairs more times than I can count including a complete rebuild of the motor after the hemi started making a knocking noise. the rams look nice on paper but good luck getting them to last you without major issues paying out of pocket.
We bought a 2019 ram 1500 an the passenger rear door doesn’t seal very good an the dealer told us we caused it, I will never buy another truck from dick Bailey in okmulgee Oklahoma blind spot on driver side doesn’t work, tires were piece of crap from dealer.
Been thinking about a new 350 dually ford, but I will be dropping in a6.7 Cummins with a Alison trans after my engine warranty saw a 2020 Ford set up with that power unit setup an dang does it run an sound good no smog at all just pure pulling power!
I notice you still have stock exhaust Steve. I’m a month in my Laramie....Patriot Blue. Black shines well. Have owned one black vehicle. I don’t like Good Year tires. Will end up with Cooper or Michelin when I change out. Don’t have 12” screen or gps. Reason for gps is exactly what you said...with my garmin, can update at home. Keep up the good work.
i have ram 2018 27000k. works fine no problems i love it ....... but have to do some steps first wen you got it from the factory take you car to some one do 3M body care to cover the car body with 3M. and also cover you windshield with 3m that 2 steps. helps the body and the windshield from the rock and scratches
So as far as the tailgate issue with the linex, here's my fix. Open the tailgate, close it slowly and watch where it hits the rubber bumpers on each side (about half way down each side of the tailgate). Now hold the tailgate against them and mark the linex at the top and bottom of the rubber bumpers. Take a sharp utility knife and carve the linex on the edge from the top line you made to the bottom line. (About an inch and a half) being careful not to carve into the paint. You should have about a 3/8" flat on an angle when your done. It looks good, it's easy, and the tailgate closes like a dream again. Just did my 2020 Ram. Didn't like slamming it hard to close it.
Throw in a hellcat supercharger and it will be perfect. I suggest clear vinyl over the entire front end to protect from chips. Did it to my 18 Silverado z71 mine is black on black as well.
I have noticed that my 2020 chips paint WAY to easy. Yeah they are tiny and generally on the front end but damn I've had the truck for 3 months and I have noticed atleast 5 chips on the front end.
I agree. The best place to review a vehicle is underneath a overpass where other drivers have to be extra cautious not to run you over or pin you between their truck and yours
The key fob issue not working with your hand in the door opener automatically is related to it being too close to your cell phone. Try carrying your keys in a different pocket than your cell phone and you won't have that issue
My last two Chrysler vehicles had the keyless enter and go and I found that if I kept the key fob in the same pocket as my cellphone it sometimes wouldn't unlock when you grabbed the door handle it must mess with the signal or something. Not sure if that's applicable to your situation but it was something I noticed. Love the truck, keep up the good content.
With the key fob issue I have a dodge and it does it if the key fob is behind the phone I guess it won't go through the phone or interference. Only happens when phone is in same pocket
Purchased 2019 Bighorn midnight edition off-road package in August 2018 With the 5.7.Averaging now around 20 miles to the gallon with 15,000 miles on it. Rock flew up and hit the top of the windshield now the cracks about 15 inches.
Man I hear you.Want to get one now but may wait until year.People where I live at have recalls,so I don't know.I have a 99 dodge ram 1500 4x4 quad cab, every two years transmission problems so...sooner or late new truck is coming
I have the same exact truck in white, the hood looks sweet in white . My tail gate doesn’t lock and my presets for radios gets wiped out. Will have dealer look at it at the first oil change.
Just a question. You mentioned the tires that came on your truck weren't very good. I just purchased a 2020 Ram 1500 it came with Bridgestone tires. What brand tires did you have?
@@HammerdownMotorsportsUSA OK Thanks buddy! I was curious if I had the same tires that you originally had. Mine are Bridgestones and I've only got 120 miles on them at the moment lol. So I was wondering if they were the same ones you didn't like. But apparently they aren't! Wheew! lol. Thanks again
@@ronaldhickman9953 your full of crap, every vehicle I've owned for the last 5 years has been a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep product and not 1 issue. My wife has a 2019 300C that is phenomenal and I'm in the process of trading my 2018 wrangler I'm on a new Ram 2500. Mopar or No car
Interesting information about your paint chip problems on a delivered truck new.4 days ago I took delivery of a stinger yellow classic Express and found paint chips on the rear bumper and the front grill the same afternoon I got at home and was cleaning it down and detailing it to my liking. I sent an email detailing my finds to the salesman. call Tim Monday to follow up and he said I won't be in until Tuesday and I'll start the process to get you fixed. Today is Wednesday and hopefully I will hear some information without having to keep poking.
ram has come a long ways i will say but being owned by flat down fall,im a ford man myself but got to give it ram keep up the great work and hope they took care of the frontend problem's engine problems and rust problems,
true but pushrods = problems not many people realize you need to adjust them after break in witch as you know screws thing up but yes im old school myself
Rock chip repair is mostly include in your insurance - no charge to you at all - so call insurance right away when it happens and get it fixed. ( next time for you )
I had the same issue with the navigation just the other day. I used Google maps to find a location and after that wanted to switch the Rams nav so I don't need to check my phone every intersection. The address was at a different location and was wrong
I went from a 99 Ram to a 16 F150. Not because I wanted to but because I had to. I wanted a new Ram at the time, but they didn't fit my needs. Too high and lacks suicide quad cab doors. Ford is the only manufacturer who still has those. I am handicapped, and I use the rear seat to store my walking aides (crutches) while I drive.
Having little issues with my Ram 1500 2019 like right side mirror won't fold in. Once in a while the ck engine lite comes on then shuts off other wise a fantastic ride and lots of extras. Its bighorn model.
Thanks for this. Just starting my research for a new Ram. Your insights help! Have a 2007 V6 that has been amazing. Cosmetic stuff broke, but otherwise a solid, solid truck.
Badass!! Never thought I’d own a Ram but here I am shopping for one. Locking and unlocking using the handle while the fob is in your pocket can be annoying. This happens on my Lexus RC so I assume it’s a fob thing.
Been thinking of buying a new truck. Ram was my first choice but a couple of videos almost had me convinced to buy a Ford. Glad to see that my first choice was the right one.
sorry should have watched the whole vid before comment the auto door unlock is part of the security that never gets informed to anyone sometimes dealers dont know but many years ago i help put some large electronics any way when a stranger pulls the handle your auto unlock wont work to say hey someone or something tripped the security so you need you fob to reset it wont blow the horn or anything like that just a minnor trip
Dude I think you're forgetting it's a truck not a Mercedes-Benz. I guess trucks used to be the work trucks and now these days everybody wants a luxury truck of course things are going to get scratch so what like I said a truck is a truck. I drive my truck off road and it's a Dodge Ram 4 by 4 no big deal that's what I bought it for not to cry over a little scratch.
I had a 2019 RAM SPORT, tires were junk, door wouldn't open sometimes, NAV had to be replaced 2 wks after I got it, sometime it would tell me when I was going to fast in miles per hr n next time it would say in kms. Check engine light would stay on n the dealer would say nothing wrong, it stayed on the whole summer. The last time the wk before I sold her ,it wouldn't start. She had 18 mnths of warrenty left so I dumped it!... NICE TRUCK BUT TOO MANY PROBLEMS WHEN ITS BRAND NEW!...😒 my truck had every option u could get, maybe she was over loaded with options, at 60 I was hoping it was my last new truck to buy.
yeah i wish it was us picking it up on a sunny day to inspect it the truth is they sold the one we originally bought and had an identical one coming in so we waited a week and they dropped it off to us in the rain at night
rule of thumb, the "factory tires" are ALWAYS crap ..the big 3 always put a "low quality compound" tire on vehicles that for the most part, wear out very quickly, or have lousy traction ...good idea to be ready to change those out asap
I attend the new car show here in Los Angeles yearly. Every year I point out the flaws in the Dodge vehicles on display to my wife. The gray paint on the Dodge vehicles and the reds tend to always have light spots and/waves in the paint. I can't believe the quality control at the factory isn't aware.
If u get the rebel i would not get the air suspension. Buddy of mine has one and has had problems with the air suspension. Basically a costly/risky option. Good luck in ur decision tho!
Waiting for my to lease come up and I’m getting the Laramie with pano roof and 12” screen I’m going back and forth between black out package or the sports with all white
Ira Rather I’ve had white cars and trucks for while I wouldn’t mind maybe the white sports package or the black out l just don’t want any chrome on new truck
The chip in the windshield has nothing to do with reviewing a truck. That scenario can happen to any vehicle. As far as your issues with the sales staff, that also has nothing to do with the actual vehicle itself. That seems to happen at many vehicle dealerships now days. Find you a dealer that treats you right and doesn’t play games.
I have had the same issue with the unlocking of the door...but even my key fob wont unlock it...I even had a time where it said keyfob not in vehicle so I couldnt start my truck
@@HammerdownMotorsportsUSA I was stuck in a Walmart parking lot for 5 mins because I couldnt get back into my vehicle. And dealership cant make it happen. Rare occasion when it would happen
Love your videos! I bought a 2019 Ram Bighorn 4X4 with the 5.7 Hemi and my wife and I love it! We’ve had it for about 5 weeks now and I replaced the stock tires the 2nd week we had it. I also put some wheel to wheel 6” stainless steel steps on it. We’re definitely enjoying it. Soon I’m going to put a 3.5” Readylift SST leveling kit on it. Keep those videos coming!!
Jason Morehouse Is that true for kits that come with the upper control arm? That Readylift SST brings the upper control arm with it to keep the geometry straight.
Nice Truck! Thanks for the info, I'm shopping F150 v8 vs Ram right now. Note, never buy a car in the rain or at night! I had a 2016 Jeep GC (bought new) that I found 2 paint chips on the dealer lot. Got it in writing that they would fix it before we signed.

I got the new 2019 Ram Warlock (w/Hemi) and I love driving it. I can’t wait to go to work just to drive it. Ram trucks are truly awesome.
I agree, cant wait to go to work to drive. Only options I don't have is moonroof and automatic rear window. Love the 4wd and the power it has. Drives great in Colorado.
The good, the bad
....
Hold the ugly, this is a ram
I have the Big Horn edition. It doesn’t even come equipped with NAV on it, but plugging in either an android or iPhone and you can have GPS through the dash with no problem. That’s what I do with mine
Yup I use Waze
Yeah in spite of what Scotty Kilmer says, I still love my 2017 Ram 4x4. No regrets.
Scotty Kilmer is a joke, his major goal is getting clicks and views so most of the time his none sense rants are nothing more than someone trying to be controversial to the popular opinion... it works tho! lol if people would really listen to him we'd all be driving toyotas form the 90s.
Lmao! Dudes a joke indeed. Anything for the views.
It’s only 2 years old.
Until you're out of cell service
I have a 2018 Ram Laramie. Never use the factory GPS. I always use Apple Carplay
Just bought a 2020 Ram Laramie 1500 club cab night edition. I love it so far, only issue I had so far was the back up sensors automatically engaged the brakes while backing into my driveway yet there was no obstacles. Almost gave me whiplash it brakes so aggressively.
yup I have had that too go in the infotainment and turn off emergency braking and it will only give you a warning not whiplash if you choose to do so
Had the same thing happen with my new truck.
I just bought my first truck. I got a 2020 warlock. Thanks, I really enjoyed this!
Never owned a truck that wasn’t black. More to maintain but entirely worth it when it’s clean
my next door neighbor has a brand new Z71 1500 in all black and it looks amazing. he keeps it clean though. definitely the nicest looking truck on our street. but i need to show him up with the Ram ahaha
I have the same truck. I think stock wise the only thing I would change is having the ability to fold the mirrors using a button.
I own one for 9 months and I like the cooling heating seats and the 8 inch screen good suspension too 4x4 of course if u live in Florida
Some dealer are selling them 18k off msrp
I bought the Ram Longhorn in Jan. Just love it. Have 10,000 k’s so far. No regrets. No issues.
Ram Rider Same here!! I am very happy and absolutely love mine! Momma already has almost 7K on ours.
Harold B.
I like the new keyfob. I hope they put em on all 2020 dodge cars
Dodge doesn't own Ram anymore ..Future note
K. Murray that happened 10 years ago lol
Ken Singh obviously...apparently you’re just fishing and trolling for likes..because if you watched the video then you would know why I mention that..
K. Murray They’re still both owned by FCA. Just the branding was separated. But that’s what happened 10 years ago. I’m not sure why you’re so up in arms, just stating a cool fact I was surprised about as well.
Ken Singh no 💩 🕵🏽♂️
I have the same issue with the keyless entry where you touch the handle and it does not unlock.
I have an 03 Ram hemi 238k miles runs amazing still. Best V8!
My 03 is fantastic too. Maybe the newer ones are junk.
Steve Warren I was disappointed with the 2019 model. It’s just ugly.
I have a 2005 Daytona edition Ram with 196k now and it is still fantastic.
My 2004 ram hemi is at 312k miles still running strong
LOL!
yeah mine aren't the wrangler they are a touring tire
Steve Fick what cover did you go with. It looks like a retrax. I will be going with BRP boards. Any comments would be appreciated
Dodge used to be really poor, all the money was in the Hemi and the rest of the truck was crap
I recently drove the 19 Silverado and then the 19 ram sport 1500.
The ram blew the Chevy away. It will take me alot to buy another GM . Well done FIAT !
Gary Woodgate true I was a gm tech in the late 90s yo early 2000s and I think the trucks they made then were better quality than the ones now
Gary Woodgate I’m driving loaded Silverado now and test drove the ram and I can’t wait to get outta this heavy Chevy
the ram is fine for a short while.
Yup hate that bad dealers can ruin a brand
Keep up the good work.
yes still stock exhaust but that might be changing in the next little bit we shall see. Thanks for watching your truck sounds pretty sweet too
The recall of the new ram is about 300k for airbag malfunctions
i have ram 2018 27000k. works fine no problems i love it ....... but have to do some steps first wen you got it from the factory take you car to some one do 3M body care to cover the car body with 3M. and also cover you windshield with 3m that 2 steps. helps the body and the windshield from the rock and scratches
Don't feel bad on the keyfob unlock. My Audi does this as well. I think it's just not perfect technology sometimes.
I have a 2018 Dodge Durango and the same thing happens sometimes when I have the key fob in the same pocket as my cell phone.
I love my 19 Bighorn, traded in a 2012 Tundra on it and it was like going from a flip phone to a smart phone.I do look back every time I park it.
I agree, they are beautiful. But what about all the recalls?
TheNewenglandboys my new ones are toyos
@@HammerdownMotorsportsUSA But can you tell me what tires originally came on it? And are you liking the toyos?
TheNewenglandboys the black ram had Goodyear touring and they sucked except in perfect weather I now have toyo open country mt on my Rebel 35 inch
That is a great looking truck. I can't wait to get one in the fall
HFR83 you better smarten up real quick before the harsh reality hits of fiat-chrysler these things are absolute garbage
Mopar or No car
best Italian truck money can buy
Mopar or NO car.
I love my 21' RAM.
Great video. I just got the 2020 laramie in metallic graphite (grey). Love Dodge Rams.
Fuel economy?
@@fatehrajpal 17 average.
It's Not A Dodge!!!!
ram has come a long ways i will say but being owned by flat down fall,im a ford man myself but got to give it ram keep up the great work and hope they took care of the frontend problem's engine problems and rust problems,
eric ellison I think if Ford had a pushrod v8 they would really have an advantage
true but pushrods = problems not many people realize you need to adjust them after break in witch as you know screws thing up but yes im old school myself
Since Fiat bought Dodge they are WAY better
Dodge were total shitboxes before that.
Rock chip repair is mostly include in your insurance - no charge to you at all - so call insurance right away when it happens and get it fixed. ( next time for you )
I'm very happy with the Ram GPS navigation system so far. Compared to our 2016 Subaru its excellent.
Best tires for RAM 1500, Yokohama LT 265 x 17, You must also add second set of coils to rear axle or yu cannot carry more than 1200 Lbs in box.
I’ve heard of people put a clear vinyl on there front bumper and hoods.
Rocks go right through that expel too
I had the same issue with the navigation just the other day. I used Google maps to find a location and after that wanted to switch the Rams nav so I don't need to check my phone every intersection. The address was at a different location and was wrong
Snowcat_srt yeah pretty annoying
I went from a 99 Ram to a 16 F150. Not because I wanted to but because I had to. I wanted a new Ram at the time, but they didn't fit my needs. Too high and lacks suicide quad cab doors. Ford is the only manufacturer who still has those. I am handicapped, and I use the rear seat to store my walking aides (crutches) while I drive.
Wow. Excellent point.
Getting my own soon but I don't do white or black on my vehicles. Probably go with silver. Great video and thanks for the update!
Having little issues with my Ram 1500 2019 like right side mirror won't fold in. Once in a while the ck engine lite comes on then shuts off other wise a fantastic ride and lots of extras. Its bighorn model.
Any update on the check engine light coming on and then going off?
Trucks tend to come with fuel efficient tires good for summer but need AT tires asap
Thanks for this. Just starting my research for a new Ram. Your insights help! Have a 2007 V6 that has been amazing. Cosmetic stuff broke, but otherwise a solid, solid truck.
What the charge today the truck should be perfect from top to bottom.
Badass!! Never thought I’d own a Ram but here I am shopping for one. Locking and unlocking using the handle while the fob is in your pocket can be annoying. This happens on my Lexus RC so I assume it’s a fob thing.
We have a fleet of Bighorns and Laramies for our rental company. Everything's great except the vibration issues above 60mph.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Been thinking of buying a new truck. Ram was my first choice but a couple of videos almost had me convinced to buy a Ford. Glad to see that my first choice was the right one.
Robert Phillips absolutely the Ram is awesome
I’m still enjoying mine 25k miles later!
Surprised it still runs
sorry should have watched the whole vid before comment the auto door unlock is part of the security that never gets informed to anyone sometimes dealers dont know but many years ago i help put some large electronics any way when a stranger pulls the handle your auto unlock wont work to say hey someone or something tripped the security so you need you fob to reset it wont blow the horn or anything like that just a minnor trip
that is not how this system works at all. pull it all you want without the fob, it doesn't effect it at all
Keeping the Hammer down!
Is getting the larger screen worth it?
Simply put yes all day yes
Dude I think you're forgetting it's a truck not a Mercedes-Benz. I guess trucks used to be the work trucks and now these days everybody wants a luxury truck of course things are going to get scratch so what like I said a truck is a truck. I drive my truck off road and it's a Dodge Ram 4 by 4 no big deal that's what I bought it for not to cry over a little scratch.
It is a truck and I use mine as a truck should be but it should be at least chip and scratch free on the day of delivery
Haha. Mercedes is the same company.. my Ram key is the exact same key as my Mercedes just a different logo..
Any update on this Ram 1500 and any major problems?
Every make puts like one coat of clear now .. my 16 high country Silverado started peeling 12k miles in
Aldo Torres that’s still gotta be covered under warranty right
GMC also chip. I think it's the new enviro paint they all use
Mine does it to 2018 black Silverado
I have a 2018 Ford150 in black and the paint also chips and scratch’s easily.
They now have to use water based paint
Obama paint what a bunch of BS
Once you roll out the lot, that's it. You accepted it as it's all in good shape.
yeah i wish it was us picking it up on a sunny day to inspect it the truth is they sold the one we originally bought and had an identical one coming in so we waited a week and they dropped it off to us in the rain at night
Some times if your keys and cellphone are in the same pocket it can trigger a misfire when you go to unlock your truck using your hand
Do you wave at the 3 other Rams at the light that look just like yours or.....
nope cause I bought a different one now lol
rule of thumb, the "factory tires" are ALWAYS crap ..the big 3 always put a "low quality compound" tire on vehicles that for the most part, wear out very quickly, or have lousy traction ...good idea to be ready to change those out asap
Their hd trucks have much better tires than 1500.
Yeah theyre pretty shit i just got my truck been with me for about 2 weeks and traction is just terrible
Bought an 18' silverado. Came with bridgestone duelers. High end? No. Solid tire? Ya. I dont think theyre bad at all for what they are honestly
Yup my Ram 1500 has only 25k on it the middle of the tread looks like cracking, dryrot.
Bought a 2015 Silverado LTZ & got 87,000 miles out of the stock tires
I attend the new car show here in Los Angeles yearly.
Every year I point out the flaws in the Dodge vehicles on display to my wife.
The gray paint on the Dodge vehicles and the reds tend to always have light spots and/waves in the paint.
I can't believe the quality control at the factory isn't aware.
yeah I have seen that in many new cars from all makes
I’m leaning towards the Rebel or Power Wagon
If u get the rebel i would not get the air suspension. Buddy of mine has one and has had problems with the air suspension. Basically a costly/risky option. Good luck in ur decision tho!
I have the 19 rebel as far as I know the air suspension is good for that year I know mine is working perfectly fine
Waiting for my to lease come up and I’m getting the Laramie with pano roof and 12” screen I’m going back and forth between black out package or the sports with all white
jbarres80 White is much easier to keep and look clean.
Ira Rather I’ve had white cars and trucks for while I wouldn’t mind maybe the white sports package or the black out l just don’t want any chrome on new truck
Both my 2012 and 2018 Challenger key fob did the same thing.
0:03 what a beautiful sight
Ram has done nice work on the interiors of their trucks, sounds like they really need to address the quality of the paint work.
I have had the same issue with the unlocking of the door...but even my key fob wont unlock it...I even had a time where it said keyfob not in vehicle so I couldnt start my truck
arthur lowande that’s crazy I’ve had a couple times it took a minute for the fob to be recognized I had to cycle the start button twice
Harold B. Vigil Sr. Thank you for watching
over 3" level is not recommended. guys leveling over 2.8 are having fast cv wear
Jason Morehouse Is that true for kits that come with the upper control arm? That Readylift SST brings the upper control arm with it to keep the geometry straight.
How did you make out with the lift? I have a 2019 Laramie 1500 and have been thinking about putting a kit into it.
How a man can dream someday I'll get a new Dodge but for now I'll be rolling with my 05 2 door
nothing wrong with that I had one brand new loved it
I like the homeless taliban look you’re going for.
Caligula Germanicus 😂😂😂😂 best comment ever!
lol the homeless look keeps people from asking me for money, taliban part I'm not so sure of
Caligula Germanicus Beards are classic. Nowadays men shave their legs while wearing ripped jeans. You call that classic?
Good information. I was wondering how the maintenance has been since posting this video? Any major issues?
none to speak of other than the rear window update its been a good truck
Nice Truck! Thanks for the info, I'm shopping F150 v8 vs Ram right now. Note, never buy a car in the rain or at night! I had a 2016 Jeep GC (bought new) that I found 2 paint chips on the dealer lot. Got it in writing that they would fix it before we signed.
@rocknroller1999 Why? are you brand bias? Because I am not. I'm looking for the truck that I like the most and fits my life the best.
