By crashed I don’t mean prices have plummeted, I mean exactly what you’re saying, the market is a mess and doesn’t make sense. Vehicle both new and used are over valued, in most cases.
10 years ago you could get a base tacoma under $20k. Now you're likely to find one under $40k. I'd been saving for 5 years to buy my first new truck and now it's out of reach. I'll just run my old truck until it dies
Sad business atm . Never again will i ever ever buy from a dealership. I found a great toyota on craigs had 51k 06. Took a long time but worth the searching and waiting
Toyota has already been called out in numerous dealerships for the 'used trucks' with 2-3 miles on them. I am sure all the manufacturers do it but they're the only ones I keep seeing with NUMEROUS used vehicles w no mileage on them.
I can't find any new Camry's. I could only find a few new Corolla's but those are of no interest. It seems like Toyota doesn't really give a damn about the US car market anymore.
The old v6 four runner is still the best reliable 4wd on sell. These old school SUVs will probably go up in price like the fj cruiser did when Toyota dropped it.
That Toyota dealer is doing the bait and switch on their trucks plain and simple and there are people that are gullible enough to go for it😅 I had plans of buying one or two new vehicles in my lifetime but I vow now touch one with a 10-foot Pole😊
Agreed! By collapse I mean people can’t buy them like it’s not a sustainable business model. Not that prices have plummeted, which I hope happens soon!
The cover photo was a 4Runner, but 17k was the largest discount I could find that day on any SUV or truck. I wish Tacomas were 17k off, I’m sorry if that was misleading.
17k off does not bring it down to what these vehicles should be worth. Another big factor is how cheap they are made majority of vehicles are plastic and super thin layer for exterior. Imagine how bad the engine material is? Why should people pay 750, a month for something that was 350~400 a month. Who in the Fk wants to pay over a thousand plus insurance and gas? Then the outrageous tag taxes depending where you live? It’s like the consumer is being ripped apart by a pack of wild animals in every direction. Outrageous car payment, outrageous insurance payments, high outrageous gas prices, high outrageous maintenance prices, who the fk has money to pay 2000k for a dumb vehicle? That’s way over the top. Then you go to the grocery store and you get fkd over again and again. How about your water and electricity? Seriously the United slavery of America.
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Thanks for the heads up! I was chomping at the bit wondering if it would recollapse [sic] 😂🤙 But I know what you mean: you would think the dealers would try to adapt to current reality. It just makes me think that something insidious might be going on.
For sure! I definitely need to travel further away like I had been doing with the early versions of this video. But now I’m a bit invested to wanting to know what happens with some of those vehicles hahaha. 😂
Haha, in the past few days finally watching a lot of videos on the 4th gen I realize I currently probably need more back seat room, so maybe a 6th gen 4Runner would be a more appropriate Toyota change. I just drove a current gen TRD PRO (2 videos coming soon) and man do I like mid sized Toyota body on frame vehicles lol.
Those vehicles are WAYYYY over priced, not good reliability as of late. Just spend a few thousand to have your current vehicle fixed up and cleaned. Boom, there you have a new vehicle for 1 or 2 thousand bucks.
Absolutely agree! The price of modern cars is insane. Even the taxes you’ll save on a new vehicle can fix most regular problems on your current vehicle haha.
Cars trucks and all vehicles are all so over priced. Then when all models have a slow down on all models and stop selling well the dealers will typically make up a hand written eye catching bill board claiming that there is a great savings? The reality is all vehicles are very expensive and very over priced. Imagine paying sixty or seventy thousand dollars for an automobile that will rapidly depreciate? Anything I buy will have to cost much less and be sold at an auction yard.
Absolutely agree! I can’t believe so many people have been willing to go along with it to the point that we now have 50-60k mid sized trucks and 70k full size trucks with cloth seats lol. 🤦♂️😬
@AutomotiveAnonymous208 I looked at some new vehicles at a GM dealership around the fourth of July. The full size pickup trucks were window sticker priced at seventy and eighty thousand dollars. I thought that was unbelievable. I can't figure out how individuals in my area afford such high priced automobiles. And then I walked by the Yukon and suburbans and the prices were thru the roof at like 90 thousand. Unbelievable?

10 years ago you could get a base tacoma under $20k. Now you're likely to find one under $40k. I'd been saving for 5 years to buy my first new truck and now it's out of reach. I'll just run my old truck until it dies
That’s for sure! Back in 2013 I bought a new Tacoma regular cab 2wd 5 speed and I think it was like 17.5k lol.
2024 Frontier king cabs have a 6-foot bed. 2024 Frontier SV crew cab is available with a 6-foot bed.
Great insight, thanks for sharing! I know the Pro4X in the U.S. only comes with a 5’ bed, but I think in Canada it’s also offered in the 6’.
That’s really interesting that others have noticed this and it’s not just this dealership. So weird lol.
Manipulating sales numbers apparently.
Too much moving around with the camera, giving me a headache
Sorry about that!
Probably! I’m pretty sure the supercharged FJ cruiser I had and sold with 93k miles is now worth double what I sold it for around 7 years ago haha.
8 speed and 2.4 blowing up WTh 30K should be the price
The car dealers can keep all of those cars😂😂😂. We dont need them, we used to want them untill they started to price gauge us.
I looked at a 2024 GMC AT4 Canyon yesterday for 45k and I would rather have that than a Tacoma.
Canyons are nice!
That Toyota dealer is doing the bait and switch on their trucks plain and simple and there are people that are gullible enough to go for it😅 I had plans of buying one or two new vehicles in my lifetime but I vow now touch one with a 10-foot Pole😊
He never mentioned the catastrophic transmission failures on Tacomas.....lol
From what I’ve heard those are few and far between, but maybe more are being reported as the days go by? What has happened to Toyota?? Haha.
4k over MSRP is not a collapse. IMO
Agreed! By collapse I mean people can’t buy them like it’s not a sustainable business model. Not that prices have plummeted, which I hope happens soon!
Don’t buy a turbo!
The Maverick was a $20000.00 truck
Yeah, it was supposed to be. 🤦♂️
Car dealer for 30 years and sold thousands of trucks and cars. HATE THE DAMN THINGS!😖
Where’s the Tacoma for $17000.00 off
The cover photo was a 4Runner, but 17k was the largest discount I could find that day on any SUV or truck.
This is nothing new. 5 year's ago I bought a brand new Silverado 4x4 for $16k off sticker price.
Where are those $15,000 Toyota trucks?
That’s a good question!
Thank god it's collapsed again 🤣👍
Haha, I wanted to make sure you weren’t left wondering! It’s so crazy to see some of the same vehicles unsold month after month lol.
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Thanks for the heads up! I was chomping at the bit wondering if it would recollapse [sic]
😂🤙
But I know what you mean: you would think the dealers would try to adapt to current reality. It just makes me think that something insidious might be going on.
For sure! I definitely need to travel further away like I had been doing with the early versions of this video. But now I’m a bit invested to wanting to know what happens with some of those vehicles hahaha. 😂
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 For sure, those vehicles have become like old friends 🤣
🤪
76k for a Tacoma TRD pro 😅, pass.
Not only do they cost like a house, they are junk. Toyotas that wont get home without a new motor.
They bought the truck from another dealership, so they list it as ‘used’ with 2 miles. It is sketchy
Never buy anything from the dealer! Their greed is bottomless.
Yep, you’ve already talked yourself into buying a new Taco.
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Yes, it’s a very different ride and driving experience.
When they get down to the 30 something they might sale
Yeah, absolutely!
To much 🤯
Dealers,Sorry we can’t support your greed anymore we’re broke!
Toyota turbo engine doesn’t sound good.
Stop Buying Boring car's get fun cars .
😆 🤣 😂 😹
76k🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Insanity! Lol
Trucks are overpriced and pointless to own unless you work construction or live on a farm/ranch.
100%
Marketing gimmick
Many people don't need a truck because they are not the contractor
💯 yet everyone has one as if they are haha.
This Toyota front end is so ugly
Joke 😂
This stupidity pushed me back on 2 wheels.😂Greed and markups are the cancer of the car industry🤡🤡🤡
Dealers been cheating consumers for decades now, they just find another ways to do it.
