I've said it before and ill say it again. That ex boyfriend who told the police her plan is a hero. Not only did he save a life, but he put that witch in jail. Absolute legend
I Agree. Instead of "SEE something, say something" It should be " KNOW something say something". the see something gets innocent people murdered, but know something gets to the real truth.
I couldn't find one for the cops episode didn't look long so might just be either to find because of all the coverage but datelines talked about it and they have an episode covering her for at least: sins and secrets(palm beach), celebrity true crime story( dalia dippolito - trapped on tape), murder for hire(crocodile tears)
You should look up and listen to the phone call from jail she made to him and trying to manipulate him and trying to turn things on him and he just blew her off as he should
16 years for trying to end a man's life....she is the kind you put in a cell for eternity. That is evil, she is not the kind to change. She is going to screw someone when she gets out...
I think this is one of your best stories. No one was hurt, physically anyway, and the perpetrator got what she deserved. Yay, for the ex-boyfriend and the Boynton Beach police…great job!
We-e-elll unless any of Mike's boiler room victims came to harm as a result of his scam, I guess... Financial scams sometimes do bring about the death of a person. Although, compared to the other true crime material, this does feel less horrific, and I temporarily forgot about the hidden or indirect cost of financial scams, so yeh. I really can't disagree with your comment

I've seen several documentaries about this case, her mother actually at their wedding gave him a warning almost, after the ceremony she allegedly whispered into his ear "she's your problem now.."
honestly the ex boyfriend is an absolute legend for doing the right thing and telling the police what her plans were !!! also the video of her “acting” shocked about the “murder” is so beyond funny lmfao and i could tell the officers loved playing along
She started bawling before the officer even finished saying he was dead! Not to give tips on how to get away with crime, but at least feign some disbelieve or something
It happens to majority of us. I've seen it way to many times to even count. They leave us who literally are loyal, honest... I mean just ride or die for whatever whenever. Mr ballen has the history of their meeting wrong. He called a call girl up and she came to his office, dahlia was paid to sleep with him and Mike fell in love with her and left his wife for her.
Same 😅 Her cringy and straight up bullshit ass acting/that whole scene will forever be immortalized on the internet as the absolute gem that it is thanks to them 😅🤘
Ill say this: Your presentation is done well enough that, it wasn’t until there was only a few minutes left in the video that I realized i had heard this case before. You have a unique way of presenting cases that hide things like foreshadowing, shifting plots, or hidden agendas
The biggest mistake Michael made in his life even worse than his criminal record was cheating on and divorcing his first wife. She stuck by his side during the dark days when he was in jail. She's definitely a keeper and I hope she found a better man.
Yea I hope she went on to find someone amazing and love her forever,it’s crazy that women held him down and he just left her so quickly these are the reasons I have trust issues

The fact that she was pretending to be on his side, and even in love with him, and then calling the police and giving them his name, even planting the drugs in his car before pretending to cry to the policemen to let Michael go home. The world is a scary place.

I love that he gives us time frame references (ex: just one month later, 17 days before) because my brain can not do that math and it really adds to the drama of the story! Stellar story teller. I’ve probably watched all of his videos at least ten times.
Yes! I also appreciate that he always puts measurements in both metric and imperial. But especially when it comes to temperatures. I really have no clue what Fahrenheit temperatures are in Celsius! Fahrenheit is really difficult to learn/envision when you're used to the simple; freezing starts at 0 and boiling starts at 100.

You obviously know very little about this notorious case then, because in reality Mr Ballen got key facts WRONG, and entirely OMITTED many others! It was the laziest, most inaccurate re-telling of this famous story ever. Watch any other RUclips report on it, and you'll get way more info - without Ballen's dumb mistakes! He actually claimed Dalia was a 'real estate agent' when they first met - I've never heart prostitution called that before! 🤣🤣🤣 They met because Michael Dippolito hired her as an escort - he was banging the skank behind his wife's back in his office. Old rubber lips saw he had money, so got her hooks into him. And he was dumb enough to dump his loyal wife for her, all 'cos of the sex (he paid for - and boy did he pay for it!) And Mr Ballen said they "fell in love!" LMAO! 🤣🤣🤣
She's such a psycho, after her arrest she kept harassing him. She refused to sign papers for his property and kept saying she was innocent. I believe Dalia will always be a danger..
It’s so crazy how you are able to tell story’s. I’ve seen the interrogation video of this case a couple times and didn’t even realize it was the same story until 17 mins in. Thank you so much for the content you make!
Damn the way she's demanding him at the end to "come here" then gets even angrier "come here please!" Just shows how much she's gotten her way all her life by throwing tantrums. She has never been held accountable for anything her entire life. You can tell by her voice that she wanted to scream and throw a huge fit because she wasn't getting her way and he wasn't gonna go to her.
@@PraiseTheFSMonster How's that sexist? he specified that she was an entitled woman, aka not all women are entitled. It'd be sexist if he just said "woman moment"
Of all the mistakes Michael made in his life, leaving his loyal first wife who stood by him while he was in prison, for a conniving, evil, murderous psycho has to be the biggest one. Perhaps that truly his penance for his past crimes.
And the way she freaked out and was trying to get him to talk to her in the interrogation room was downright ridiculous. The man just found out you had a plot to kill him, "baby please talk to me" ain't gonna do shit at this point smh

When half an hour feels like 5 gripping minutes you know you’ve hit gold. The way you tell these stories make them incredibly surreal and relatable and just breathe so much life into it that whether we already know the case or not, it’s still must watch/listen. @@kyleanuar9090 It disgusting to that there are people who will trade anothers life for money. I already knew this story but mr b tells it well with additional info.
This is one of my FAVORITE crime stories. The fact that I didn't recognize this was THAT story until close to the end, and was still thoroughly entertained is a testament to how great your storytelling skills are, man. This version kept the suspense high and i feel like the "inside perspective" given here is a better way of hearing it.
theres a fantastic video about this case on the JCS channel called "The Curious Case of Dalia Dippolito" that you should check out if you like this story!
Dammit. Same. Didn't realize what it was until he said she pulled up and stopped on her street and was approached by a cop. Then suddenly, I remembered those names WERE familiar and yep, it was that case.
Things I like about Mr. Ballen: 1. He doesn't make me feel like saying, "C'mon get to the point." The unfolding story IS the point. 2. His ad reads come at a high point in the story like a proper commercial break. 3. He took "hit/smash the like button" to a whole new level. 😁
Number 1 is a great point. Sometimes when people describe things in too much detail, it's hard to stay focused and it becomes irritating. But the way he tells these stories really make you feel and see what it would be like if you were there.
We seriously need hour long videos from you, these 20 min ones just aren't enough. I could watch you tell stories all week long and never get tired. A true testiment to how good and enjoyable you are.
I could get by on three four or even five stories a week myself. It keeps me out of trouble and usually delivered with a healthy moral compass . Also a fact based account including any important factors. Always practiced and researched!
This is a pretty popular case on some criminal psychology channels on YT, but the way Mr.Ballen tells the story adds new details to the situation, Thank you Mr.Ballen!!
JCS - Criminal Psychology. Best video on that channel, but Mr. Ballen still tells this story better and exciting. Masterclass of storytelling, putting the details and twists and turns at all the right places.
I don’t like that he adds details of telling people what someone is thinking when it’s completely untrue and made up. It’s obvious that his wife was not sitting there wondering who could’ve made the calls and where the drugs could’ve come from. There’s other stories where someone dies and he sits there and tells the story about how someone is thinking this or thinking that and then they die. There’s no way of possibly knowing what they were thinking. I understand it’s just to add drama to the story but it’s 100% factually incorrect.
I had already heard of this story of course, but there's just something about hearing it in the story format of MrBallen that always makes things very much worth hearing again.
Exactly what I was going to comment haha. I had recognised the case just by looking at the thumbnail but since it's Mr ballen I've got to hear it again from him!

These people are called psychopaths. This one here is a covert psycho as you can see on the recording of her faking emotions and her denying she was at fault. You can see these traits in just about every serial killer. Scary stuff 😬
I saw an interview with the cop that told her that her husband had been killed, and he said when she tried to lean into him for comfort, he was so disgusted he wouldn’t hug or console her and he held her away from him. 🤣🤦🏻♀️ she was definitely a piece of work! In court she said it was all a set up for a reality show and her husband was in on it too. Needless to say the jury didn’t believe that either.
I actually noticed that in the video just now. She kept leaning forward, and the cop was clearly uncomfortable. And it was so weird because she kept trying LOL
It was a reality show. She really messed up and in reality too. Now she's in part 2 of the show, which is called prison, a hell I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. She could have been on an alternate reality show called Happily Married, but greed made her end up in a terrible reality show. She destroyed her own happiness. That's the sad reality. No amount of money can buy back the miserable year's she will waste in prison. Sadly, her parents will suffer too. They did nothing wrong and now will weep because they have a child in prison. The whole thing is awful.
I remember this case, the absolute audacity of this woman! There's more recordings of her talking to Mike and she is fully saying "Noo I didn't say that" when he says "you said you were 5000% sure!" . She just doubles down and denies it, completely gaslighting him and telling him he heard wrong when it's clear as fcking day. Always applauded her ex for doing the right thing
Yes I just commented about that I bet we watched the same documentary she’s crazy af to literally tell someone who seen proof that no it wasn’t her they are lying
Wow. I know this story. I didn't realize it until half way through. The way Mr. Ballen tells these stories is amazing. Maybe some of its exaggerated for details and suspense. But the way he does it works. It's not false or facated. He's such a good story teller. Thank u for your service. Bravo
The woman is on a new level of crazy..she actually called him to get her out of jail and hire her an attorney. She is one of the scariest people I've ever heard of.
I’d say less scary and egomaniacal. The fact she stole so much money from a man engrossed in her and still says it’s not enough is the next level of hubris.
@ the writer It totally sounds like you’re biased toward men. It’s pretty obvious. Yes, what he did for her was crazy and not smart. But It sounds like you’re making the whole story about what happened, focus on how engrossed he is in her. The bottom line is what she did to him was absolutely insane.

I will cherish it for the rest of my life.
I've seen this case a few times but nobody has went into detail about the back story like you did. THAT'S WHY I WATCH this channel. You're the best at telling stories!!
You forgot to add one of the best parts -- she called him from jail pleading for his help. She is one of the most sociopathic people I've ever read about but that call from jail was hilarious. She was getting upset with him because her plot to have him killed failed and now he wasn't helping her get out of jail. The phone call audio from when she was in jail is classic. Even though she was caught on video soliciting to have her husband killed, she kept denying that she ever did that despite the clear video evidence. The amount of mental gymnastics one would have to do to actually believe that is incomprehensible -- she really was crazy.
Exactly! This is how disconnected people with antisocial personality disorder are. They know what they did. They just think it's so unfair they pay the consequences for what they have done. I was unfortunately in a relationship with one and I'm lucky I'm alive. To this day he acts like the victim. He will deny till he dies as this psycho chick will.
Yeah...I've heard this story many times. I enjoyed the way he covered Mike's past to draw us in to the story and make it believable that someone else could have been framing him...but I wish he would have included that phone call..
Man my blood ran cold at how scary the cop was when he slowly turned, and looked at her before he told her, she was going to jail. And seriously?? Only 16 years of jail time?? She deserves much longer!
The undercover cop who was the fake hitman, passed away in his apt. four years after this all happened. He was forty years old. He was found by his brother.
The ex-boyfriend and the cops are definitely heroes in this strange situation. The ex-boyfriend is for immediately contacting police and the the cops are for using critical thinking and believing in Michael when they totally didn't have to. I'm sure those officers were getting sick and tired of repeatedly having to search every square inch of Michael's property. When they finally found the candy they could of easily thrown the book at him since he was on probation and the officers had to of known if they just arrested him it would finally put an end to all the searches. But... Nope, instead ruining Michael's life those cops used officer discretion and gave him the benefit of the doubt. I salute y'all. We need more police and ex's like them.

I'm amazed, You can see the true evil the moment she starts to cry and shake when the tell her her husband is dead.... You have to be very evil to give that kind of performance. Your right, good job cops for not being blindsided....
Well, they never give women the same sentences that men get. What’s funny is that the “biased” jury actually did the right thing the first time, and gave her a proper sentence, only to have it reduced because they were biased in favor of women, like most juries, and they didn’t hold her as accountable as they would have held a man.
@@seansmith2797 this feels more like attempted a step past intention. She paid someone to do the deed. If it wasn't for the ex boyfriend the man would be dead. A bad man who turned his life around. Who prison acturally worked which is rare. Only reason they cut it was due to her being a woman. Do you think they would have if it had been a guy who did this. Nope. But here is the better question. How in the hell do women keep finding hitmen? I hear so many stories of women who do this not nearly as many for guys. Do they like advertize in cycling class or something? I am not looking for one. Just was always curious as to how women always seam to find them or undercover cops who are posing as them. What is even worse she went to an ex to ask if he knew a hitman. Why did she think he would know one? Does this mean she tends to only date scumbags?
Wow man, im glad for the guy Mike that actually tried to turn his life around and didn't get killed. I'm also a convicted felon (Marijuana trafficking, 1999). That turned my life around when i was sitting in jail realizing that this was not the life i wanted to lead. The difference is i got myself into school and got a degree. Met a woman I've been married to for 19 years now. 2 kids, gainfully employed. law abiding individual. I got a second chance. So did this guy Mike. The fact he came so close to losing that because of some psycho made me realize how i could have too when i was my most vulnerable. Good on him, hope he's doing ok.
I just want to say, good for you for turning your life around! Its not easy, I know first hand. I have a similar story to you where I was put in jail (roughly ten years ago now) and having that experience made me realise that it was not the life I wanted for myself. I had a rough childhood where I was homeless and living on the streets and in refuges since I was 14 years old so I ended up getting mixed up with some bad people who were doing bad things. I had been arrested a couple of times before I was finally put in jail but going to jail was a real wake up call. I am glad that I was ultimately incarcerated because if I hadn't been, I really doubt whether I would have ever turned my life around! Sometimes rehabilitation in the form of a jail sentence really works and that was the case for me. I know it can be hard to turn your life around and I have seen many people attempt to do so unsuccessfully so again , good for you for being able to change your life for the better!
thanks for sharing that, i am so happy that you had the determination to do that, amazing! as soon as i heard mike wanted to change i was rooting for him. everyone has potential and value. god bless, sir!

Yes! what a great way to watch this knowing the back story! I loved the details of getting to know Mike and his struggle and triumph over his past. Fantastic story telling as usual 👏👏👏
As I was listening to a podcast last night I became consciously aware of how well-written his narratives are. They're a full sensory experience of sight, sound, touch and smell, and the flow makes the time fly by. He has 3 immediate family members who are in literary professions, one of whom won a Pulitzer Prize. No surprise there.
This is the only story that you’ve told that I have actually heard before, this is a good one. This is the one time I knew the ending, and you still told it awesome. You found your niche in life my friend. Love your storytelling.
That was some serious karma for cheating and divorcing his wife who stood by him in jail…. I mean that seems like pretty much perfect justice. The woman you cheated with - instead of standing by you in jail, tried to get you falsely imprisoned. And the heartbreak you caused your wife betraying her with cheating? You got betrayed even more bc the person you loved and you thought loved you wanted you dead. Seriously nasty karma.
I was laughing so hard from about the 22 minute mark, when she started crying, knowing that she was lying and faking that. Great story telling Mr. Ballen.
Awww, you missed the best part of this story: after Dalia's been booked and processed in jail, she gets her one phone call, and she phones Michael to yell at him and demand that he come down and fix everything. SHE ACTUALLY PHONED THE MAN SHE TRIED TO HAVE KILLED TO DEMAND HE GET HER OUT OF JAIL. Fortunately, he didn't, and when he refused she got even angrier, and he just let her wallow in her impotent rage. It's an amazing call to listen to.

I think it's hilarious that they had a whole set up to make her believe that her husband was killed lol and the way she cries is so funny and the actual video. And when she calls him from jail after she tried to have him killed she even literally said "I saw the same tapes that you did. I saw what you saw and heard what you heard and it's not true" now THATS actual gas lighting 😆

You know, the whole time I was expecting it to be something awful like ex-con gets his life together and the cops prank arrest him and causes him to freak out. I'm so happy with the direction it took
The fact that she thought her ex would know how to get her a hit man is wild especially since he went the complete opposite direction and went to the police for help. She has to be completely nuts.
I don't think it's that wild. She's, well, pretty crazy. Got hitched with a guy who's a former criminal -- so not shocking she'd have an ex-bf who she kept in distant touch with, who knew some really wacky people. Like telling him many times making up bad stuff as much as possible about her new husband... and them talking and she getting the feeling he wanted her again (not a shocker; she is hot) and him wanting to... and telling him after a while "I know you knew this one guy who was involved with guys where there were hitmen... well, look, could you get one of them for me?" Not crazy thinking on her part. I mean, I can't think of a way easier way. I think they took them out of the Yellow Pages. :)
You had to look at her MO. She had an affair with a "bad boy" then married him. I can't help but think that she's drawn to that type. Possibly she loves the danger, as I did as a young girl. Certainly she loves the money that comes with a criminal lifestyle. Certainly she got bored with a criminal turned legit business man. Perhaps she thought the ex was a "bad boy" and figured he could set it up. She's certainly beautiful. Probably gets her way a lot, who knows.
She thought she was so beautiful that she'd get her way. 🤷♀️ But she thought wrong "I heard what you heard, and saw what you saw.. but it's simply not true!" 😂🙄 so glad they got her good
Its sad that she got 16 years to serve . She should have also gotten 7 months or less to turn her life around like Michael who was a much worse criminal from dealing drugs, joining killers like mafia , scamming people and abandoning loved ones. And she got 16 years for a murder that didn't killed anyone, shows how harsh justice system is on women and men get it way easier.
This story never gets old. I've been fascinated from the beginning of it all. You have by far done the best job explaining it in such a short time. @@CR-lu2qi Yeah I had no hearing initially at birth due to being a pre-mature birth, tho it did develop to be somewhat better over time with natural growth. It’s not quite the same as everything being low volume, rather imagine a certain degree of muffled audio - in my case yelling from another room or at a distance (think like 20/40 metres), I can “hear” the commotion but nothing of what’s being said other than voice volume and probably gender of the said voice. Same with the sound of running water, I can hear the loud “splish” when water runs or makes contact with a plate but I can’t hear most of the lowly more subtle splashy sounds. Hope that helps (?) :)
That's how my grandfather is, but he wasn't born deaf. When he was in the army someone fired a bazooka right next to his ear and it basically destroyed his hearing.

The call was gaslighting at it’s finest esp when Dahlia was telling Mike “I SAW what you saw, & heard what YOU heard.… but I didn’t do it” 😂
He also forgot the part where she was manipulating him to put the condo in her name. It did go through right?
Shes a legit psycopath.
Man my blood ran cold at how scary the cop was when he slowly turned, and looked at her before he told her, she was going to jail. And seriously?? Only 16 years of jail time?? She deserves much longer!
Unfortunately I think the sentences are shorter if it’s only solicitation or attempted murder

Gotta wonder what that ex went through with her
Very refreshing that cops got it right this time

Well, they never give women the same sentences that men get. What’s funny is that the “biased” jury actually did the right thing the first time, and gave her a proper sentence, only to have it reduced because they were biased in favor of women, like most juries, and they didn’t hold her as accountable as they would have held a man.
Intention is not as serious. It's just the way things go here. You have to die to get some semblance of justice and even then it's a crapshoot.
You underestimate how much prison can break you. One year would destroy your sanity so imagine 16
He came close to losing that bc he cheated on his wife and left her for a psycho who tired to kill him. Yeah it's called karma 😂

Costs a lot of money to stage something like that too right?? So awesome that they put on a whole show for us to see, rather than just busting her on the spot right?
I am certain she found it all so entertaining too. Her parents must have been in stitches.
she was clearly trying a last ditch , hail Mary at manipulating him, something im sure she's done many times and all her life to others, guarantee she's spent her whole life getting by on her looks and manipulation skills and she's become someone who thinks she can do anything she wants in order to get what she wants, even murder.
she's a very shallow, cold hearted piece of work, maybe her time in prison will teach her some humility and she might try and be a better person but i doubt, she'll almost certainly get out and try to land some rich guy who's not too bright and live that kind of life forever, trading up when and where she can.

The fact that she thought her ex would know how to get her a hit man is wild especially since he went the complete opposite direction and went to the police for help. She has to be completely nuts.
I don't think it's that wild. She's, well, pretty crazy. @@toddjohnson7572 I think it's more that she clearly didn't know the guy very well if he was the type of guy who'd instantly go to the police.
