Koh Lipe was absolutely amazing. Are there any other islands that we have to check out whilst we are in Thailand? Let us know bellow. Join us on instagram for daily stories instagram.com/lostknox
Koh Lipe is the best island in Thailand along with Koh Phi Phi. I have been to Koh Lipe twice - the first was a day trip from Langkawi in Malaysia in Jan 2019 when I was staying in Langkawi for 1 week and stayed for 5 to 6 hours on the island before we headed back to Langkawi before sunset and the second time was a 3 day stay at Bundhaya Resort after spending time in Ao Nang, Koh Yao Noi, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta and then to Koh Lanta. Now the route from Koh Lanta to Koh Lipe was a long and bumpy speedboat ride but we stopped at Koh Kradan, Koh Ngai and Koh Muk along the way. I think the best route to get to Koh Lipe is from Langkawi in Malaysia - it is only less than 1.5 hour ferry ride
@@LostKnox Hi Guys, If you are going up to Krabi I would recommend Hong Island. Its a really cool little Island for a day trip and you could get some amazing footage with your drone. Take care.
THAT'S WONDERFULL !!!! when did you go ? I'm planning to go at the end of November, but I'm a bit afraid of the rains. Do you have advice about when to go ?
We went in January and the weather was great. To be honest the weather in thailand was great the whole time we were there. We arrived in November and left in February. You will have the best time. 😁
Been in Thailand 10 years now and koh Lipe 4 times, being Pak Bara is only about 20 minutes from our home in the south.I think Koh Lipe is 1 of our favorites, but I would say Koh Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh,are up there as well.Glad you enjoyed your trip :)
@@LostKnox If you are transferring from Bangkok,to go south,Trang airport is the best route,it's only an hour and 20 flight, then an hour drive south to Pak Bara.:)
We travelled from Langkawi, Malaysia, by a large high speed ferry, its actually closer than the Thai main land. This was just before Covid, dont know if it still runs. We returned to Langkawi and caught a plane to Penang, not expensive.
I was at pattaya beach koh Lipe last year with my wife. I still remember every minute on this paradise island and miss it a lot. Next stop, Krabi province? or Surat Thani province?
@@LostKnox Nice, Koh Lanta is in Krabi Province. After leaving Koh Lanta you may go to another place in Krabi like famous Koh phi phi or Ao nang bay. There are many place waiting for you to explore in this province. Enjoy your trip!
The two-tier pricing for Thais and Farangs happens everywhere, particularly national parks. It pisses some people off but I just look at it as a subsidy for locals. It can get more expensive (500 baht + 200 baht per day) for diving in Similan National Park for example, but what can you do? Also National Parks in Thailand aren't the same as Western National Parks. When someone says there is a well marked trail that just means you don't need a machete or a guide. You still need good shoes, tons of water, and to watch out for low trees (lol) and dangerous cut bamboo spikes etc.
It doesn't really bother us either We have seen this in other countries too not just thailand so it is expected. Also we were silly enough to get rid of our boots when we left Europe to try and save space in our bags 🤦
@@LostKnox Ah yeah. I packed mine 😁 good sturdy trainers are usually sufficient for hiking in Thailand tho. You can always buy a cheap pair and bin them when you leave
Zodiac is pretty pretentious for such a small island, but it has its moments. However, the main bar area at night is along Pattaya Beach. Chuck a right at the end of the walking street and walk about 100m (we have our mountain bikes which makes it a bit easier at anything other than high tide) and you'll get to Monkey Bar and Cafe Du Lipe (our favorite because they make a mean negroni for 100 baht during happy hour 6-8pm). There are some fun other travelers around so if you OK with just saying Hi to anyone nearby you'll be fine. The other great way to meet people is diving and snorkelling trips to other islands (which are fabulous btw)
@@ezraormsby323 we bought our bikes over on the boat! However CastAway Resort rent bikes apparently. It solves two problems - one is that small tho Koh Lipe is, it's still 3km long and it can get very hot and tiring walking around. With a bike you can explore more and say, bike up the hill at the north end and walk down through the bush to Secret Beach. The other problem on Koh Lipe is the narrow roads that get clogged with annoying scooters and even worse, the 3-wheel sidecar scooters. The walking street shuts out vehicles from 6-10pm, but the rest of the day it can all be a pain in the @ss trying to walk anywhere. On a bike you are another vehicle so it's no longer an issue (and we still bike along the walking street after 6pm 😁) Another good tip is to stay somewhere central, ie where we are at Pooh Bar & resort under the big trees on the walking street. It's quiet (can't hear the longtail boats), out of the wind (Sunrise is very windy in the mornings atm), and both Sunrise and Pattaya are easily accessible (5 minute walk or 2 minute cycle). It's 2200 baht for their luxury room which is big and nice and includes breakfast. Pattaya Beach is a bit rocky and cr@p at anything other than high tide. Sunset is a bit rubbish. Sunrise can be windy. But if you bike to the very north end of Sunrise, park by and walk through the new resort being built (past Zodiac) you get the best swimming & snorkeling, no boats on the beach, and there is a awesome sandbar you can walk/swim to which is only a few inches deep at low tide. Great spot to watch the sunset from atm!
Ko Lipe looks beautiful. It's interesting. Another commenter mentioned this and Phi Phi were the most beautiful islands. Wow. Koh Phi Phi is a hideous ruined disaster, destroyed by rampant development. Ko Lipe I fear is headed that way. Hope I'm wrong.
It really is a beautiful island. We worry a little about it too. There was a small waste area in the centre of the island that is obviously used to store rubbish. That area did smell a little. We have heard that before covid Lipe was really over crowded. I think we were lucky that we got to go when we did because it wasn't really that busy. 🤞 here is to hoping the island stays as beautiful as it was when we were there.
Wooow, the views, shots, 🥰😍😍 and the sign of “Free Sex” made my day 🤣🤣🤣! The color of the water 😳 and the hiking!!! I hope Andrew’s head is alright!!! x
