Tip number 11: DO NOT hike the same Tengboche trail twice! There is a much more impressive high trail on the opposite side of the valley which goes via Mong La - Phortse - Pangpoche. Takes the same amount of days on the way up. Vastly more amazing views high across the valley, lots of wildlife and practically no other trekkers. Makes no sense to walk the same route twice when there is a better alternative available. Unfortunately guides are lazy and unimaginative, selling only the same trails everybody else is also using. Ingenuity is not rewarded in Nepal.

Two seconds after leaving the station, told the palace was "shut". Replied "Really??". Just kept walking to the open palace. Then went to the wonderful reclining Buddha. Kept smiling and saying no to the Tuk Tuk drivers all day. Had a good time. The train was great, and I enjoyed the walking even though I am not young. Thanks RUclips and Google Maps! 😸

Its called Betel..You may see lot of people has red mouth spitting in red..Of course its a mixture of betel, ariconut, piece of tobacco, n bit of calcium by carbonate..Hard working ppl labourers , drivers, eatate workers eat chew of betal as a refreshner..as it boost your body..but nor for swell but only for spitting back

Awesome video, I’m hoping to go in 2025 wand appreciate the recommendation of Ram. I want to avoid a group tour for the reasons you mentioned (mainly pace). Did you have issues booking tea houses (eg due to high demand). Was Ram able to help with booking these. I’m worried about getting high up the trek in busy season and not finding a bed! Great video thank you. I am sorry to hear you have been through this. Tourism is an important income for people in Thailand and the Tourism Police take any scams very seriously and will crack down on them very hard. My wife's family are Thai and they are lovely people.

I was thinking of staying in the Philippnes after. I retire. How many people can speak English in there? I met so many people from Philippines who work in Tokyo. Most of them can speak English way better than average Japanese.

I have never been to South Korea because Japan is geographically close to Japan. These days some many Japanese visit it due to K-Pop. I am not crazy about it because I am too old to catch up with the trend.

Lots of my friends also like Nara cos it has less people than Kyoto or Osaka. Plus people can enjoy the ancient. Some of the dears are aggressive for the dear cookies though.

The Thai people need to be mindful of this bc this could deter tourism, which is @ 18% of their economy. There's also karmic consequences for treating people like this. I learned about all the scams before I got to Thailand. I avoided all tuk tuks at all costs. There was one man who was trying to be playful by tapping my arm with whatever was in his hand after I said no twice already. I gave him the dirtiest look. With that being said, you two are too nice! Sorry this happened to you.

Did you have any issues with leeches? I'm due to go to Sri Lanka and Nuwara Eliya but have heard they are bad there. I have a huge irrationally fear of anything like that

You can sometimes get video if you ask to videotape during off hours. I've seen a lot of others who do videotaping of baths or other semi-private areas for youtube.

Didn't quite make Siquijor on my last visit as it was typhoon season & I only had 3 days left in The Philippines & was afraid I might get stuck on the island & miss my flight. This coming Canadian Winter I am planning on cycling around Siquijor & camping as well as staying at resorts. Do you know if the circumferential road is more up than down in one direction? Thank you for the nice places I plan to visit.
