- We made our way back to Manila to visit the BGC for the first time. In this video we give you our first impressions of the #BGC ( Bonifacio Global City ).
We explore the most modern part of Manila to find some of the biggest malls in the world and finally eat at the famous Mang Inasal. We visit Venice right in the heart of the city and wonder at the Sky line of this mega city.

Originally from the Wirral, North West England we got married in 2012. After a few trips abroad we caught the #travel bug. In 2019 after 6 weeks in Japan we decided we were going to quit our jobs and take some time out to travel full time. After many delays due to the pandemic, in 2021 our dream finally came true and in November we set off on our journey.

@Lost Knox I think it's analogous to walking barefoott, one connects more with the earth. When infants are given their first solid foods, usually mommies put it in their ever so soft and fragile mouths with her bare hands with lots of love as way of nourishing not only the physical body but the bond she has with her offspring . I think it's the natural way to eat. Use of cutlery and chopsticks, etc... is a matter of cultural etiquette.
I love watching foreign vloger, because they are showcasing the beauty of our country, thats why other and more foreniegner are coming here in the philippines, this is generating more job to the filipino, and thats why the our tourism industry are booming,

That was brilliant, a ton of activities from paying respects to fallen soldiers from WWII to a throw back to Bacolod's famous chicken to mini trip to "Venice" to an anime treat in a Manila ❤🇵🇭💙🇬🇧
We had such an amazing couple of days. Leanne was so happy she got to see that movie. She has been waiting years for its release and it still isn't available back home 😊🇵🇭❤️

The Halo-halo (mix-mix) dessert....LOOKS YUMMY....I can do that or make it here in the UK....I missed that here in the Philippines...Haven't been home for almost 8 years now...the last time I went to the Philippines was the year 2015 (July)...And I keep putting off my vacation to the Phils. because of the Pandemic & work (no available time off)...But, I'm planning to go home the next year 2024 because of the key turnover of my small CONDO in Taguig which is obviously to decorate & furnish it...Can't wait...Enjoy your stay GUYS...Keep Safe always.

Next time you eat halo-halo... mixed it all together (including the ice at the bottom) till it just looks like a purple slurry.. youll get all the flavors that way...

Check out old Manila, Intramuros. Built in the 1500s when Spain colonized the Philippines. It’s an integral part of our history. Close by is Luneta or Rizal Park named after our national hero Jose Rizal . Inside the park, you’ll find several museums, our national art museum, national history museum, Anthropology Museum and others.

Should have spent more time walking outside. BGC is famous for its walkable outdoor city and urban environment, not malls. And Venice is technically not in BGC.
Another good area is Makati (around Ayala Avenue and Greenbelt). It’s like a BGC that feels more authentic and urban
We did stay in Makati during our first visit to Manila 😁
We were going to explore more of BGC but when Leanne saw the movie she had wanted to see for years in the Cinema we had to go and watch it 😁

I heard their is a very good Inasal restaurant in Makati called Aidas. Which is one of the most popular restaurant in Bacolod where chicken inasal came from.

A great way to cool down after the islands is a trip to Tagaytay or Baguio City. You can also hit a few places along the way and around Baguio.
We were going to head up north but ran out of time. We will go that way next time 😊

Inasal is a classy fast food but because many patronize it, they became like that catering to all walks of life, treating equally!

That Starbucks and the area they showed is at the Arya Residences in BGC. Venice mall is not in BGC, it's in McKinley Hill!
We would have explored alot more but it was WAY TOO HOT that day to walk around 😅

those malls aren't even really huge compared to SM Mall of Asia, so you guys should definitely check the third biggest mall in the world while you're here 😆

You're wondering why christmas song is played despite it's April...😅..haha, but there's an answer for that..if you can just find local chritmas carol where the lyrics tell translated in english "everyday should be treated like Christmas Day to celebrate sharing of love, etc.", this was taught to me by my Filipino friends...I found interesting...anyways enjoy your stay in the Phils. Mang Inasal is run by Jollibee.... and is famous for unlimited rice servings... their Halo Halo is comparable to that of Chowking, another Jollibee company

Try visiting Clark Airbase in Pampanga. Located in the north part of Manila . Msny Americans already live there because its a former American Airbase. Also Subic in Zambales where the jungles of mountains are preserved .

You went to Venice Grand Mall which is part of BGC but not the famous one. The area where High Street, Burgos Circle and Uptown is the one that is nicer. Other than that small canal, the Venice Grand Mall is not so grand.
There are so many malls in Manila. One day we will visit them all 😅

Have you visited the Japanese mall near Uptown BGC? The mall's name is Mitsukoshi Mall BGC and they have Kinokuniya bookstore there in partnership with Fully Booked that houses lots of manga and artbooks inside :) Also more than 80% of the shops and restaurants there are all Japanese brands. It's location is smacked between 7th and 8th avenue, across Landers.
No we didn't even know this was there 1😮 but now that we do we will definitely visit on our next trip to Philippines ❤️🇵🇭😊

I wish the stores are training servers to instruct first-timer halo-halo eaters about the need to mix-mix (which is what halo-halo means literally).

Cool! We’ve always wanted to try a humongous Halo-halo at Aling Consuelo (ORIGINAL as the one beside her is a copycat), but my personal favorite is one by Little Baguio in Quezon City (they also make an awesome Pancit Palabok). Our go-to halo-halo is still the one by ChowKing chain (like Mang Inasal it is also owned by Jollibee). Do you know who owns Burger King?
