- We have spent a week on the island of Koh Lanta. This video shows our last three days on this amazing island.
On day one we found the best cinnamon rolls we have ever had in our lives, Andrew gets his hair cut, we eat over the sea in the old town and finish our day with a big bowl of beef noodle soup on the side of the road
Day two, we eat at Yawee restaurant, Leanne gets her hair cut and then we find what we imagine are the naughtiest burgers in all of Thailand.
Day three we went to the national park to have a dip in the sea before finding a little gem of a cafe and being invited to a community gathering that happens every Saturday evening on Koh Lanta.

Originally from the Wirral, North West England we got married in 2012. After a few trips abroad we caught the #travel bug. In 2019 after 6 weeks in Japan we decided we were going to quit our jobs and take some time out to travel full time. After many delays due to the pandemic, in 2021 our dream finally came true and in November we set off on our journey.
So sad that we are leaving Koh Lanta after an amazing week here.
Where else in souther Thailand should we go? 😄

I LOVE Koh Lanta. Have been there twice always for at least 1 week. Can't get enough of it. The people are so friendly, the food is soooo good. Amazing beaches with a lot of privacy. Great nature. You feel like you're almost alone on a small unknown island but also go partying and have a lot of fun and also doing a lot of stuff.
We really fell in love with koh lanta too. For such a large island it has a really strong sense of community 😍

And you really look so relaxed and enjoying Koh Lanta! 🥰after hair cuts, you both look so great, and Leanne is like a proper model! 😍. Aww, sounds like local people there are so helpful, and kind. I had just traced it back on Google maps 😅 it was called - Mon Hashery ก๋วยเตี๋ยวกะลาจ๊ะมล - if you copy that and paste it into google it takes you to it. It was right outside of the lotus tesco express 😊

Hello! We are traveling through Thailand and considering going to Koh Lanta. We would like to learn how to ride a motorbike. Do you think this would be a good place to learn? It looks like there's not alot of traffic and would be good for beginners.
The traffic is very light in kho lanta, so I think it would be a great place to start 😀 avoid driving at night because there are some big pot holes! And drive quite slowly to avoid them, keep to the left hand side of the road, as cars can then pass easily. Have fun! Thailand by bike is incredible 😍

Just saw your video. The tender stewed beef in the beef noodle soup you had was most likely stewed brisket. It's simply the best in this kind of noodle soup - nice and fatty :)🤤
It was so delicious. We should be back I'm Thailand in May and cannot wait for another bowl 🤤

The restaurant was on Koh lanta old town and was called pinto restaurant.

The black rice thingy in banana leaf wrap is actually slightly milled cooked glutinous (sticky) rice fermented for a couple of days with yeast, much the same way you make rice wine. However, the fermentation process is halted by refrigerating the concoction before it has the chance to turn into real liquor. The result is silky, sweetish, slightly fizzy mouthful. I used to love this sweet (but I only had them made with white rice then) as a little boy when my Mom predicted that I would grow up to become a drinker.... she wasn't wrong.

You have felt what many others before you, hence why I brought a home here, I’m in Klong Nin. It’s a Muslim island which may have added to the feeling you had of community & family, everyone is related 😬, everyone knows everyone & everyone helps each other. As a white English Catholic i have never felt any animosity, nothing but kindness & understanding. Come back soon 😊
We actually stayed in Klong Nin, the lady who ran the hotel was so lovely, it seemed to be family run too. It would definatly be a place we could call home for longer, and will definatly be back 😊

Thai love sweet flavor, not good for health😅. When you order drinks, you may tell them for less sweet “Wan noi” or no sweet “Mai wan”. I’m also drink less sweet coffee in daily life.

Ah I thought this might be a video about Koh Lanta, but it's yet *another" food vlog 🙄 There are some fun places to explore on mountain bikes (or scooters for the unadventurous), some fun little bars and 'lesser known' beaches, the great viewpoint restaurant, etc...

We are really sorry but we don't know the name of it. It was a small local stand not far from the 7/11 and the mini Tesco
Why 2 motor bikes?
We're both still fairly new to bikes and have never ridden with people on the back.
Also we both really enjoy driving them 🤣
