That is one of my dream car and its always so satisfying to watch videos like that! Someday i will get it, but for now - great video! definitely worth a sub!
Thanks for the comment, much appreciated and I agree, this car was unreal to drive!! You’ll achieve your dreams one day! Lots more toyota 86 / subaru brz and general car content coming soon!
Hey great work but can you give me an idea of what the total damage ($) is for this similar set up ? Excluding cosmetic just the mechanical changes required so I know what I would be up for . Cheers . I’m in Brisbane as well if you can recommend who to do this work would be a good reference too
Hmm, apparently it can be hit and miss, some people run them fine for years but some get unlucky. Having spoken to angus he suggests the tune/tuner is hugely important in longevity lol
@@mresab1997 its about the high torque that small turbo makes, i would rather throw in big sucker and have lot more power at high rpms, without torque wearing the engine down till it explodes.
@@TheCarDoc1 What makes you say it is? The power a turbo is rated to produce is not the actual power it produces, and theres way more involved in getting an FA20 to reliably produce 400hp than just bolting on a turbo and adding heat shielding and some catch cans. Maybe he did all the supporting mods and just thought they were too mundane to mention, but as a car nerd and brz/86 fanboy I'm much more interested to know how he got there than take his word for it that he was able to squeeze a perfectly even 400hp out of an otherwise stock engine. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, but theres just not enough information in the video to make a positive claim either way.
@@perrybenedict5983 I push 350 to the wheel on stock motor I could turn it up to 400 but like you said you’re playing with reliability at that point but I know people putting down more than 400 on stock motor and it’s been over 20k miles no problem but I know people who put 350 like me and blew up not a even a few thousand miles later. Hit or miss but definitely possible. *Edit* I just got through half of the video and his turbo is bigger than mine he definitely touching 400
@Perry Benedict i had mine pushing 375hp on 100% e85 quite easy. That was on stock internals tho so didn't go further. This guy has a built motor so easy as.
@@perrybenedict5983 im running 360hp 280 ft lbs of tq on 110 race gas we got no e85 here in canada, has alot to do with your tuner and setup, im running a centrifugal supercharger
Sounds beautiful. This is what cars are all about. Proud to own an 86.
Love the beginning shot but your personal sound effects are always my favourite 😍 looks mad fun to drive! X
Thanks for the love!!

Thank you so much!!
It turned out so good man! You really did capture my nervous smiling 🤣🤣
😂 Thanks bro for the experience again!

Hey man! Send me a DM and I’d be happy to talk more about the setup and cost. The86shop in Brisbane are the best to go to!
As per angus! Thanks for commenting :)
@@AngusOutram cool I’ve sent you a DM on your Instagram
What is the 0 60 plzzzzzzzz
Good one bro, so NA or Turbo? Which do you prefer?
Both! hahaha
Nice whip.
So we need to field build the engine, then turbo it? Got it. Are these not reliable with just 7lbs of boost and stock internals? Just curious.

Can easily run it on 7psi all day everyday. Especially if on e85
i think the problem is its allready got a 12.4:1 compression ratio, adding boost to that is dodgy.
What camera did you shoot this on ?
A Sony A7IV 😁
@@TheCarDoc1 great video. Loved the the style

Built engine? 😃
Yes indeed! It exploded then he got a built / forged motor! Thanks for commenting, stick around for more :)
@@TheCarDoc1 awesome! Do you happen to have the forged components needed to sustain 400 HP? Great video, well done by

@@mresab1997 Yes - necessary to do it safely! No point building a car to be on the fine line of blowing it up
dude if this is your channel you do not criticize a car owner for his own car you do not know how to drive that BRZ!!!!!!
Lmao are you okay mate
Show me the dyno charts theres no way thats 400HP
What makes you say its not 400 hp?
