- I love this Peter Gabriel song, from his 1986 album "So," with the great Tony Levin on bass. From the keyboard- and rhythm-heavy original, it took me a while to come up with a straightahead rock guitar arrangement that I liked, and the groove (on all of the instruments) was surprisingly elusive. I had to record several cycles of scratch tracks before it started sounding half decent. I didn't even attempt the Stewart Copeland hi-hat part.
Gear:
Atlansia Stealth bass, recorded direct w/Boss OC-2 Octave pedal
Ibanez Roadstar II guitar, through Amplitube plug-in and Line 6 POD, plus delays
Roland V-Drums
Pro Tools
My old Yamaha SPX90 reverbs, used on all of my recordings (Peter Gabriel's studio had two of them also!) - Видеоклипы
awesome version of one of my favorite Gabriel songs. you are a true renaissance man - love all your channels. thank you Eddie, and gawd bless america...
I find it absolutely baffling that this has so few views. Brilliant cover, my favourite so far, please keep going.
Great job! One of the best yet, keep em coming!
Hell yeah, Peter Gabriel rocks and so does Eddy Current! Great job.
Nice! You really made this your own version while still being true to the original. Loved it :-)
very nice job! great approach.
beautiful. I already thought Ed was baddass, then come to find out he is a musician that can pull off an almost perfect Peter Gabriel. My mind is officially blown,

Damn man, I love the new channel. You are a diversely talented guy.
OUTSTANDING...!
the production quality and musical arrangements of Peter Gabriel are very difficult to replicate indeed - you have done an amazing job of creating your own take, while honouring the original.. very enjoyable.
Completely agreed. I have made a version of Mercy Street and took me blood and tears to almost acomplish something just hearable!
My fav Peter Gabriel song,,,what an amazing job you done of it,,,,very talented.
Eddie, I spent a season with Peter G (92-93), and his perfectionism and Leader of the Band position was super strong. I'm hoping he sees your work. He'd totally dig it. You really built something uniquely beautiful. Damn good. Thanks for the awesome breakdown as well. A true Rock Star.
Fantastic!
Amazing rendition of an iconic work, thank you!
Nicely done!! Moved me
I love this song and I love how you cover it - and also how you lay the workings bare for fellow musicians to see.
I like it, You have immense talent sir..
Dang Ed, you are so versatile, awesome cover. Thank you.
very nice, very very nice.
all are really well done! i would kind of like to see a finger 11 cover if ever possible...
Love it. Thank you.
Wow. Two in one day. Great stuff! I'm actually sitting here tweaking stuff in Cubase at the moment. The mix sounds great in the monitors - even though YT kills it most of the time.
cool stuff
So fake! No one can sing, play the drums and guitar all at the same time! Ok, seriously now, you have allot of talent sir! Really enjoyed this.
sounds pro. so much talent!
Good job. Great vocal perf. No keyboard!!!!. Saludos desde Buenos Aires.
uncredibly delicious. i'm telling mccartney about this guy.
Crazy cover to take on, but you pulled it off!
Great job man!!! Congratulations!!! This is a very very hard song to cover!!!

Hard work
Nicely done.
Dude, I just subscribed to your channel because of your "anti-evolution" satire videos... and then I see you have a ton of music videos one of which is my favorite Peter Gabriel songs wow... mind blown. Good for you.
Nice work again Ed.
amazing job, my friend!

Great job, Currently brillant
hey man, pretty damn good.
(g)od is dead. DUDE, YOU FUCKING ROCK !! I've been watching the atheist comedy and so subscribed, but didn't realize you are a serious musician. Great cover.
Great job!!! great cover!
Want me send this to Peter? :)
Two covers in a day? What is this Christmas?
To add something, great videos settlings allowing to see the chords , the arpeggios, and the basses lines.
great work!! it is a hard song to cover without awfull result. your version is nice.
An awesome "anti-Atheism" commentator AND an amazing musician and vocalist. You rock my world =)
Nice effort - especially without Peter's massive arsenal of fairlights and other synths, As well as backing singers. And no Tony Levin.
Not fucking bad at all! I've heard a lot of lousy Red Rain covers, but this one's actually pretty good!
Just one nag: the voice is slightly too muffled, needs a tad more treble, IMHO of course.
Hi Eddie..
Cool man awsome...I sing lots of songs by Peter Gabriel and I can do his voice...I wish I was there to sing along...Do you have Skype? Mine is newkeyrio and I can show over skype and brainstorm about the song...and music best Alex
I kind of like this version better than the original. Not to speak ill of Mr. Gabriel, just I kind of like Eddie's better.
Do you need a more comfortable chair to play drums with? Looks like you took off your balls to play (upper right corner of the drum frame). Ha!
Cheers.
Very good. Just to be clear, you played all the instruments in this? If so, bad ass. If not, still bad ass.
the other band members don't have any heads
