Pink Floyd's "Sheep" Recreated

- The follow-up to my 2012 recreation of “Pigs (Three Different Ones).” Thanks again to Stove Clock (Hammond organ, vocoder, synth). Running down the gear:
Rhodes keys: IK Multimedia SampleTank through Amplitube, partially phased with plug-in, with panning automation
Bass: Atlansia Stealth through original EHX Small Stone phaser pedal into Tech 21 SansAmp DI + Amplitube
Drums: Roland V-Drums with multiband limiter
Guitar: Ibanez Roadstar II through Tech 21 SansAmp DI + Amplitube + Line 6 POD (turned up in the outro), delay plug-in
Organ: Hammond A100 with Leslie 122 speaker, recorded by Jonathan Herrera at Airship Laboratories, Richmond, CA
Vocal: Shure SM58 mic inside an aluminum can. I was having trouble recreating Roger's resonance high in his vocal range, and having used a cardboard tube on “Pigs,” I tried aluminum. It sounded cool at the time, but it might not have been a great idea, as I had to EQ-out a lot of harsh overtones during mixing.
Synth that the vocal morphs into in the verses: Univox Maxikorg
Claptrap noise at 3:55: Airship Laboratories’ Leslie speaker idling, slowed down, amplified, and f’d up
Other synthesizers: IK Multimedia SampleTank, Korg Microkorg
Vocoder: Korg Microkorg
“Stone” echo around 4:15: In 1999 I recreated “Dogs” on a Tascam 38 analog 8-track (audio only). While recording this “Sheep” video, I restored the Tascam machine for the purpose of rescuing that sound and a few others. They will be featured when I re-do “Dogs,” to complete a recreation of the entire Animals album on RUclips - yes, that’s what I’m doing next!

Brilliant. Not only the musicianship, but most people have no idea the time and dedication invested in something like this to learn, play, layer, mix and put all of this together as we see/hear it in the final stage. You, sir, are a very talented individual.

First, let me say that I have been listening to Pink Floyd for almost 25 years and they are my favorite band...and my favorite album happens to be Animals.
That being said, I THANK YOU for not only recreating "Pigs (Three Different Ones)" as well as "Sheep", but for the quality of work and dedication that you and Stove Clock have put into these songs.
Looking forward to the entire album!
Also, "Animals" will be getting the SACD 5.1 Muti-Channel Hybrid treatment and is due out sometime in 2019.

Animals, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You were Here, Saucerful of Secrets, Meddle, in that order. The Wall doesn't grab me as a full album like the others. Though a few treasures exist in that one.

I am aware there are Pink Floyd albums pre 70s and post 70s but none of those complete albums are my taste, except for a few songs here and there.

How does one dissect such a complicated mix of a song so thoroughly and recreate it with this type of understanding, precision and emulation - I've been playing music since 1972 and thought I had seen a lot - You must have excellent isolation software or something to parse out all of those mixed up overdubs enough to grab them individually - My hat is off to you sir for your multi instrument masteries, vocals, mixing talents and ability to capture the subtleties that bring these songs home - I can't believe in 6 years I haven't seen this or none of my friends steered me to it

The best ever version of the Sheep spoken interlude part was by Pat Robertson circa 1977 (yes that Pat Robertson on the 700 Club). As he read the lyrics from the Animals album he railed against this demon music and the art of karate. I’m still hoping to find this clip on the web someday.

Incredible absolutely magical you guys were spot on the bass guitar 🎸 sound amazing. I know that song by heart and I know all the sound effects including the vocoder and synthesizer Rhodes piano and Sci Fi Electronic effects guitars and drums were truly just like the original oh The Organ keyboards just incredible so creative so perfect you guys recreated one of Pink Floyd Sheep down to every sound in one of my all time favorite Sci Fi electronic Synthstrumentals ever recorded also the sheep and bird sounds so cool too.
