Love! How about a seasonal-flow thing for the accordion...start with a hint of Winter into Spring into Summer into Autumn into Winter, ending with a hint of Spring. This way, technically, you can still do a different "scene" on each page, but still have a cohesive flow... all with your amazing florals, of course, but you can toss in critters, or trees, or whatever you want. Just a thought =D
I looked up Etchr after your previous sketchbook review. So glad I did! Not only did I purchase their watercolor brushes, paper and sketchbook, I started taking their workshops on urban sketching. Thank you very much for the recommendation.
Enjoyed this so much! You’re amazing, Emma! And I’m so glad that you decided to relax and enjoy this season in your life! ❤️ You asked for a suggestion for a painting that would use the paints you showed us, today. I would imagine that a beautiful sunset would be perfect! The vegetation would gleam beautifully with those paints! You could do flowers that are similar colors, then just glaze over them with the new paints, or even fall leaves! 😃 I hope this helps! God bless you back for the way you generously share your knowledge and talent with us! Cheering you on! Jacqui ❤️
I just received my etcher sketchbooks. The paper is really great. I love the smaller size paper to try to create on. Can you mention in a future video how you manage to keep the book flat. I used a binder clip which was fine but I had to sit and hold the book open flatter until the paint dried.
I got the A4 size of their regular cold pressed sketchbook which is great and the smaller size for the perfect sketchbook and the difference between the two is crazy! The perfect one almost feels like arches paper and is more textured like it. I'll definitely be getting more of that one. I've tried accordion sketchbooks as I think it would be awkward once you get further into it but could be fun to try and do one long painting :)
Accordion books are so fun. My brother gifted us 2 and I ended up doing paintings of my pup I recently lost in one, from different pictures I took throughout his life, in chronological order. Still trying to decide what to do with the second one 🙂
The perfect sketchbook just uses a thicker version of the everyday sketchbook paper (we suspect Baohong brand). The limited edition sketchbooks use Fabriano paper. I love them all!
I love my Etchr Sketchbook… Unfortunately it costs almost a kidney to import their products. But I did got a A5 sketchbook to test. This with 300gsm must be really wonderful. I’m already in love with the 230g! I really wants to experiment the brushes and I always wanted the palettes. The accordion sketchbook that I have I made my self. So easy to do. I used Cèzanne Rough 300g 100%cotton by Hahnemuehle. Lovely paper.
Love the tutorial - thank you. An issue I have with etchr is their excessive packaging. Not sure why a sketchbook needs to be in 2 different packages and have a paper banner around it.
ETCHR sketchbooks are the best , as they use cotton paper and that makes an enormous difference. The trouble is there’s no way to buy ONE sketchbook for some reason, only a group of three, and they’re expensive.
@@ramonawickstrom8562 Thanks Ramona. I tried Amazon.uk but no single book unfortunately. I live in Italy so Amazon.com would include high shipping costs. I should get my brother in Arizona to send me one next birthday 😊

Hey Emma 👋🏻 love your Videos! Is there and, if yes, what is the difference between the paper of the perfect sketchbook and the traditional white canvas books? 🤔
I have been researching brushes for a large set of Holbein gouache I had purchased last spring. Not much information on the brushes for gouache online. Did you ever use these brushes? I have been trying to find a positive on them, aside from those commented by Sarah Burns. All the other comments online only say the shellac had peeled off after limited use. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated for I would not like to use my fine watercolor brushes for this medium.
How can you tell if you can use the front and back of the watercolor paper? I have been wondering this for a while. Thank you! I think I am definitely going to try out their watercolor brushes!!
They usually have slightly different textures on both sides. Arches for example has a one side more textured than the other (you want to paint on the textured side). In the etchrs sketchbooks, they are the same on both sides.
But you love them based on the beautiful packaging and because you like how the brushes look. How can you recommend them before seriously using them? I think that's a bit misleading. It's your first impressions not a review.
I believe it stands for Grams per Square Meter. In the US we use pounds, but I've switched over to GSM when determining paper weight, as it's more accurate (in my opinion). (I've seen products marked as 120 pound, 300 GSM, and another 100 pound, 300 GSM, for example.) If a paper or company refuses to tell me the GSM of their product, I usually won't bother (for watercolor, that is. For general crafting purposes, all paper can be used in some fashion lol)
Just googled for you: The term “GSM” stands for “grams per square meter.” For this standard, the weight of various types of paper is measured from a sample sheet cut to one square meter in size. And from another site: American paperweights are calculated in pounds (lbs) based on different types or categories of paper (Bond, Text, Book, Cover, Index and Tag).
Love!

Very nice!!! Yay to Etchr for sending you this awesome gift and thank you Emma for demonstrating them for us!
Your work has really leveled up recently. Love watching you paint!
I’m so happy for you Emma, more learning for us! 😁 Have a nice day!
Do a children's illustration book one your son would love.

another idea for accordion book: maybe a picket fence running through the pages and different flowers or landscapes on each page.?
Or a stream that runs in front of the scenes? It could change with seasons, etc, even adding different fences along the way when desired. 😃
Way to go Etcher for sending my gal some great supplies! Enjoy!
Wow! Those Etchr products look great!

I love Etchr products! Just FYI, their watercolor brushes are amazing! I also love their small, round, ceramic palettes!
The products look really good. Perhaps some Christmas designs with the pearlescent on black card Emma ???
Wanted to suggest the same 😉
The pearlescents on black paper could be exciting … 🤔
Those colors are sooooo yummy! Their sketchbooks are on my wish list!
You’re doing a great job!
I definitely need a sketchbook.

Great review on the products. I’m definitely tempted to get etcher supplies when I need some new supplies
Spring to winter flowers and botanicals in your accordion sketch book. Winter you could do poinsettias and Amaryllis and indoor botanicals .
I have a few of their sketch books and love them also.🙏🏽🌻

Their website says free international shipping. I find their website cumbersome though.
The perfect sketchbook is 300 gsm baohong paper where the 230 gsm is fabriano paper
You are so beautiful inside and out! Thank you! 🥰
For the Accordion sketchbook do you portraits over the next year of your sons development and have a one-year reveal
Thank you. Put a few more items on my art haul list. Very interested to see how the gouache brushes work for you.
Very nice video Emma on your review on your freebies
A never ending seascape perhaps?!! 😉😁
I just tried Fabriano CP water color paper and it is awesome , I like it better than Arches .

I'm in love too 😍 !!!!!
Great haul!
So many artists mispronounce Sepia. It’s actually SEEpia with a long “e”. Great haul by the way 👍🏻👍🏻
I say it See-pia, but wondered whether it’s just a UK thing! 🤣
Nope not just a UK thing.

On topic, different brands: how would you rate the flick ability of the Craftmo brushes vs. the Princeton brushes?
