"But you can do jiu jitsu" is the best plot twist I've ever experienced in 2nd-person
Shia suprise!
(and you can do it well)
"BODY SLAM SUPERSTAR SHIA LABEOUF"
@SmiffyLel original?
@@sanderdavid8626 This song predates this performance. The original ends after the Protagonist stumbles away from the cabin, seemingly victorious.
I’d like to see historians try and explain this one in a few hundred years
Why wait for hundreds of years?
They will attribute it as the height of Shia Labeouf's career
welcome to ap shitpost!
Bold of you to assume we'd make it that far
I'd like to see them try and explain it now.
this dude literally got multiple choirs, an orchestra, interpretive dancers, booked a theater, and shia labeouf *himself*, dropped this masterpiece, and then disappeared. absolute chad
he actually works for disney now
@@my123mon He's also one of the members of the band Tally Hall
He was the lead singer of Tally Hall
@@my123mon I wouldn't be proud of that at the moment.
his ass did *not* disappear
My favorite “read between the lines” moment is when you realize that the reason everyone is so serious during the performance is because THEY are trapped in a theater with Shia LaBeouf and he’s the one making them perform for him. So they’re scared for their life!
Shia Surprise!
Omg that's so meta
Just wow
@@lenandov Quiet Quiet! :D
Yup, Shia is standing between them and the exit, any of them try to run, Shia surprise.

No one fucking even smiled not even the kids. The level of professionalism.
Lucy Haynes they probably rehearsed this a few hundred times.
...Which further supports them being very professional.
Lucy Haynes
You don't know that for sure, as at times the dancers were wearing masks. They could have been grinning like buffoons.
quiet quiet
My head canon for why they aren't smiling is because Shia LaBeouf has captured them all and is forcing them to do this act.
I was the guy in the middle of the back row of singers that come in at around 1:50. Your comments made my day. A number of you commented on how serious we all looked. A big reason for that is the song is rhythmically complex and full of tongue twisters. I practiced "You can do jiu jitsu" over and over and over before I could get it right. Another reason is that it was very difficult to read the music because it was very small and the lighting caused a lot of glare. Holding the folders was mostly for show, and we were singing from memory. We sang over a recording we made a week before, and what you hear is the combined sound. I wasn't worried about Shia eating me because there were a bunch of people between me and him that looked much tastier, plus there were lots of snacks in the lobby.
If this is true, thank you for being part of something that never fails to make me laugh even on my worst days
Awesome.
This is such a great comment lol

If Shia doesn't have "You're finally safe from Shia LaBoeuf." on his grave stone, I'll be super disappointed.
Oh god that's gold lol
And then it turns out that he isn't dead! Shia surprise!
And the coffin is empty with a note: "Shia surprise"

Oh man... That's too good... are you secretly Robb Cantor?
This has to be one of the world's most expensive shitposts.
_And it was worth every penny._
20k worth haha
I would do this for free lmfao he wouldn't have to pay me to do this
I can't help but feel like Shia had a hand in funding this 😂
Right up there with the Bee Movie
Him being there was a coincidence
This song spawned an incarnation of Shia Lebouf who pops in every so often in our DnD campaign. The first time i encountered him was alone in the woods. Hes was legitimately challenging. His second appearance, he downed the barbarian with a single arrow to the chest, surprising everyone at the table.
That sounds amazing. His stat block must be stacked.
@scytha3721 he's got rogue levels, so his tactic was hit and run and get constant sneak attacks. I had to use my action to find him so another player could actually hit him. He's reoccurring, with the in universe lore being he's an entity that occurs when someone has been stabbed with the cursed dagger, turning them into a Shia lebouf. His bite heals himself, amd once dropped for the first time, Shia Surprise triggers bringing him back up with 1 health and a buff to his ac.
I'm DM'ing a 1 on 1 Curse if Strahd. The player finally decided to hunt down the cannibal they heard about. Shia surprise! And because he didn't pass the perception check, Shia escaped, now becoming a recurring villain.
@@Godsbutterknife your dm sounds fun
@SurnameName Definetly. Adds all kinds of crazy shit like cursed items, the cantrip "Kamehameha" (does 2d6 force damage, but can be charged by concentrating on it every turn, adding 2d6 per "charge". Favorite cursed item is "Ring of Beuracratic Wizardry". I put it on thinking it was a normal ring of wizardry, instead when you cast spells, it summons a sheaf of paper and a quill, causing you to fill out paperwork for turns per spell level before casting. As a bard, I've convinced 2 different magical threats to wear the ring themselves and completely neutered them before a beat down Ala party.
For a song ostensibly written as a joke, I am always floored by what a bountiful showcase of performing arts this video presents. An adult choir, a children's choir, a full string section, percussionists, interpretive dancers, a ballet company, acrobats. And of course, the subject himself. Bravo, Mr. Cantor.
It wouldn't have a tenth of the impact without that. You're taking a completely dumb joke and pumping it full of quality and a genuinely catchy tune, so there's no possible way left to look down on it.
a well made shitpost can be a masterpiece
But if it’s a masterpiece, can it still be a shitpost? Is shit a separate metric of art analysis from quality rather than simply a negative critique? Is it the lack of effort, the absurdity of the content, or some synthesis of the two that makes a post a shitpost? To evaluate these questions and more, I am writing this essay to-
@@benhavener995 You'd better put in a batteries diagram there, The Yellow Dart.
It's hilarious to think about how Cantor himself didn't even know about some of the dancers, as well as how the invitation of Shia himself was just a joke
Why does the kid who said "quiet quiet" look like he actually saw Shia lebeouf kill someone
he did
he was told to keep "quiet quiet" about seeing it
He saw something.
I just got up to the door and I saw it
@@ZoeBateman He was so traumatized that those were the last words he would ever speak again.
According to Rob Cantor, the idea for this song came about after his friend started dramatically whispering "Shia LaBeouf!" while they were camping.
That's too hilarious
In my imagination (hands make a rainbow gesture) , someone was arguing Transformers as a quality film vs someone defending Citizen Kane (as in Michael Bay is water trash), while The Avalanches - Frontier Psychiatry plays in the background.
That's how I see this coming into existence.
quiet quiet
My brother did that during our camping trip(just got back)

I once saw Shia LaBeouf on the red carpet, it was supposed to be a white carpet.
Kudos! 🏳️🌈🤨🏳️🌈
This deserves all the upvotes!
change the comma to a period and you my friend have just created the perfect two sentence horror story
I'm running a rather serious DnD campaign for my family and they are currently stranded in a small town, very confused about why there is a random leg in the woods in a bear trap and are asking the locals about it. They've been having disappearances in the woods as of recently. Little do they know that it's Actual Cannibal Shia LaBeouf.
thats goddamn gold

For no particular reason, what are his stats?

That is amazing
“But wait, he isn’t dead! Shia surprise!” I laugh every time

I don't know about the other performers, but the GMCLA guys would have a lot more to include on a resume than just this performance. Most could say they participated in three concerts each year on average consisting of three performances over a weekend, many sold out, that required learning twenty songs from every genre of music ranging from Gregorian chant to classical to opera to Broadway to modern pop from all the world's languages and from all the continents (except Antarctica). The vast majority of the songs are performed from memory (off book) and many include choreography and costumes. GMCLA toured Europe (including Russia) and South America. Television appearances on Will & Grace, Six Feet Under, Sh*t My Dad Says, and who could forget singing "We Saw Your Tits" on the Academy Awards telecast. But this performance was special because it got us listed as individuals in the IMDB database. Bro the lyrics “Wait he isn’t dead, Shia surprise! There’s a gun to you head and death in his eyes” hit SO hard
Can't hold back a smile when i hear them banger lyrics
I just discovered this 😅
You know you”re in danger when you hear “SHIA SURPRISE!”
fr
My siblings and I use "Shia Surprise!" whenever something completely unexpected happens.
How have I never seen this before??? It came out when I was in high school and it took me this long to find out about it.
The slow ramp-up of how many people are involved, how serious everyone is, the song itself, the actual Shia LaBeouf clapping at the end, there are so many amazing things in this.
The thing I find the best is the dancers with the Shia heads, especially the first time they came in.
Absolute masterpiece - 100/10
Time to try highschool again. 100/10 is impossible.
@@Fischjesicht When ratings are written to be higher than the base value, it implies emphasis - an additional compliment to the creator.
Also, if you want to nitpick, then it is only fair that I do so as well. 100/10 is absolutely possible, since even though it was implied, I never directly stated it was a rating. I could have just as easily been posing a math problem.
The answer is 10, which is both the number you independently decided I should have given, and, if you square it, is also the percentage of the human population that finds you completely insufferable.
Gotta rewatch this every year or so.
“WAIT! He isn’t dead! Shia surprise!
There’s a gun to your head and death in his eyes”
That’s gotta be the best rhyme I’ve ever heard.
that is what they said tbh
BUT YOU CAN DO JIU JITSU
@@arcticfox5379 (you can do it)
Why are you guys commenting on my shitpost
@@cybergeek11235 YES! HAHA XD

Shia LaBeouf coming from the dark corner : DO IT. JUST DO IT!

MisterAwsome1234 YOU SHOULD GET TO THE POINT, WHERE EVERYONE ELSE WOULD GIVE UP, YOU'RE GONNA WAKE UP AND WORK HARD AT IT!
“Normal Tuesday night for Shia lebouf” amazing
how the hell has it been nine years since this iconic production was released
honestly this lives in my head rent free
I'd be completely satisfied with this being the only piece of humanity aliens found.
Honestly though, the aliens would be jealous of this perfection.
the aliens would be like "we aren't invading this place there are super ninja people and a supersoldier named shia labeuf"
Joke has already been made.
Shia would be too :D
Ya
The best part is that Shia LaBeouf is okay with this.
Ray Wolf I see approval at the telling of his life story.
Ray Wolf He is an actor though so you know.
Ray Wolf K thanks captain sarcasm.
I like to think that Shia LaBeouf saw the original song and then approached Rob Cantor with this idea himself, then the two of them worked together to put together this marvelous, extravagant work of art.
Madison Caldon I can see that being 100% true
In their universe, this was based on a true story leading to the orchestra song being created. Since Shia Lebouf is still alive, there are major implications that he is an undying cosmic entity that never dies. The can be further backed by the lyrics “normals Tuesday night for Shia Lebouf”
Still gold.
“NORMAL TUESDAY NIGHT
FOR SHIA LABEUOF”
"But you can do ju-jitsu" is the greatest line in music history.
and “stab it in his kidney”
‘Actual cannibal Shia Lebouef’
No its "Shia surprise!"
I'll raise you:
"Legendary fight with Shia LaBouef,
normal Tuesday night for Shia LaBouef"
"Wait, he isn't dead! Shia Surprise!"
NORMAL TUESDAY NIGHT FOR SHIA LABEOUF
Azure-Sparrow as we know he has multiple heads that are to be cut off.
matt beef doesn't that make him a hydra
is hydra labeouf confirmed
CameraFan Time to learn Jiu- Jitsu then...
CameraFan hail hydra
Azure-Sparrow LABEOUF*
sorry
From Tally Hall to Shia LaBeouf, musical geniuses
This was the peak of content creator productions on the internet. Still not topped.
"Wait he isn't dead, Shia surprise." Why does that sound like he just hit his special move.
*FROM THE TOP OF THE LADDER! SHIA SURPRISE*
Sounded almost like Tobuscus, to me.
Stand: Shia Surprise
Ability: Surprises the opponent in some way.
it's the second stage of the bossfight. or was it the 48th stage... can't remember
2nd health bar
The 'Normal Tuesday night' bit always gets me.
"shia surprise!" genius
This was uploaded on a Tuesday!
I love that part too xD
Shia surprise was the best.
That, and I love the "quiet, quiet" part!
Years later, I am now an adult and this is still a fucking banger
One can only dream to be a member of that cast
"…WAIT he isn't dead, SHIA SUPRISE" and "normal Tuesday night for Shia LaBeouf" are the greatest lines in history
I laughed so hard 😂😂😂
This is just beautiful
For sure but ya can’t forget the “legendary fight with Shia lebeouf” that preceded the line making it way funnier
“But you can do Jiu Jitsu” is certainly a top contender.
I dunno, ‘gnawing on your stump leg (quiet quiet)’ is rather rousing.
This is probably one of the most expensive and most elaborated jokes in the history so far. Imagine how much rehearsal and practice has gone into this.
Not taking into account all the fails when someone must've laughed
As far as I know it actually wasn’t that expensive since rob didn’t have a big budget. Most people did it discounted or for free because they liked the project. This is just to my knowledge thi
right, they got 2 choirs, the dancers on the curtains, the people in the shia heads, the women, musicians, its great
And getting Shia himself to appear at the end.
What’s the joke bc my brain go “aa funy song me want listen”
This legend will never die... Just like the legend of Shia LaBeouf. Generations will remember.
Anyone else get randomly dragged here my the algorithm and is now supremely happy?
"So was this... like their religion?"
"no, we beleive it was a cult that formed around that time period. we found many records of inspirational texts and photographs mentioning his name."
they say he walks among us The Shia has many forms
and a movie
The real MVP of this video right here!
Just do it.
Religions are just more prevalent cults
BUT WAIT! HE RUNS A CRAFT STORE! SHIA SUPPLIES!

Lol
this is great
+Zane Millecchia
BUT WAIT! HE EATING FAST FOOD! SHIA FRENCH-FRIES!
BUT WAIT! HE PUTS ON A MASK, SHIA DISGUISE!
This is genuinely one of my favorite videos ever.
10 years later, and this still has me in tears laughing! 😂
