In this tutorial, I have explained the process behind creating a 3d floor plan model in Blender 2.81
This was a freelance project that I did for the client and got permission to share it with you!
Project: One bedroom apartment with all kinds of facilities. Source files: Plan and some reference images.
I have used libre cad for converting dwg drawings. Libre cad is free software and it is suitable for small projects. But, You can't use it for large size files. (dwg file greater than 600kb in my PC)

Unfortunately, I was unable to upload the texturing and lighting part (because I lost the video footage) of this topic. So, I decided to write it as an article, here it is: www.egneva.com/how-to-create-a-3d-floor-plan-in-blender/. I hope you will understand the situation and thanks for watching it. If you liked this video, make sure to subscribe for more!

I didn't realize the archimesh objects bound boxes were meant for cutting holes. So convenient. Use Ctrl + - with the boolean addon activated

This is great! the first 3 minutes have 30 minutes of value! Thank you so much!

You made this look so easy. As a beginner. I know it is not easy. Thanks dude.
You can do it! Grant Abbit: ruclips.net/user/mediagabbitt is a good channel for learning basics. Thanks for watching!

I liked the 3Ddesign you made.it's amazing
good thing you have subtitles
Hahahahaah ik the accent
so many people in comment section doesn't even know which software he used, guys its clearly mentioned in the title , its "Blender". And to others who are commenting for his bad pronunciation , well i had no problem understanding what he said. And if you all couldn't understand what he said then you could've just enabled captions. Anyways it was literally a good tutorial , sad to know that you are not uploading any videos anymore
Would love for an updated version please. Because maybe back then boolean didn't work as it does today , and maybe we could use Append to bring assets but even then there's the new asset collection library . There's also the new Caustics that will allow for realistic light reflections through objects . But other than that , this is probably the best tutorial out there on how to work with a floor plan for showing interior . Unfortunately it won't help that much with creating an exterior render but it's great anyways
Is a really great tutorial. I've learned a few tricks. However using Archipack, the paid version, generate the walls, doors, windows, floors and balcony in about 50 clicks. Adding furnitures also can be faster with some addons. I don't take credit for Archipack and I don't want to leave a bad vibe about this tutorial. It's always a pleasure to see someone who make projects in a raw, pure Blender mode. That takes skill. Big like!
Very nice blender architecture video thankyou so much 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Interesting approach. I usually import a dxf and then extrude the whole floor plan to the windows sill height, then to the beam and finally to the bottom face of the ceiling.
Good tutorial! When I import dxf drawings sometimes I just select the lines of the walls and go to object->convert to->mesh from curve. By doing this it is then possible to extrude directly all the lines of the walls in 1 second, saving a lot of time
I do that too, but always check if your vertices are merged by select all and merrge by distance..increase the distance if necessary, bcs sometimes it doesn´t merge
do you convert dwg/cad into dxf first? or directly import dxf ?
I really learned so much things like Blender, Photoshop, some coding shits from some Indıan guys, don't I? You guys are really awesome dude.
Are you interested in building?
Your tutorial videos are amazing. I decided to go back to creating soft after 16 years. soft soft is so easy to get into, but also offers

Honestly when you watch tutorials for advanced 3D modelling they seem so easy but when it comes to do by yourself things are never easy you must toil a little. Im a beginner in blender 3D software i was able to create two animations for my RUclips channel and im still learning blender.
Learned many new tips from this video. Thanks
Thank you for your attention.
I loved it. I was searching for a clear and smart way of creating floor plans, and your video just appeared. Thanks a lot. Will you cover also the texturing or the applying of materials and lights for the rendering as yoir initial image shows?

Cool video.👍 Hello from Russia 🖐
it's nice for movies, animations or games however in engineering and architecture field or work, better to use sketchup and autocad 3d render to have detailed and precise dimensions in terms of meter, inches, feet and etc.
Thank you for sharing these works..bcz it helps the beginners.

I'm not sure if your voice is naturally sounding like that or you are very tired considering the work ethics that 3D artist must endure, either way it's very soothing to listen to and help concentrate on both visual and audio hehe...thanks Subbed!!

i have some doubt regarding the door moving to the locations. SHIFT-J then children then what to do , u said empty.. but i was not able to make it. please clarify
Just to select the whole door group. Select the empty(Plain axis), press Shift+G and choose Children- all children except the empty are selected here. So press shift and select empty too pick the whole group.
