Exactly what I use, paired with Shimano TX7 12ft intensity rods. Never have a problem hitting 150-160yds, brilliant rods and reels, excellent value for money. Not cheap but in my view still as good as Basi’s at half the price😁😁
the baitrunner XTA-LC had more bearings and the XTA-LC Ci4+ had more still. This new model has less than both, and the drag knob feels flimsy. The XTA-LC Ci4+ is the best as it has more bearings, x-ship and is made from carbon. What is you thoughts?
Older one doesn't have nylon gears the xta does..I think its more about the quality of bearing rather than the amount..temu do reels with 27 bearings for £20
I own 2 xt-a medium bait runners, without doubt the best reel i have ever used, the thing that gets me No service port, ok perhaps it dont need maintenance? also and i have a lot of time for Ian but all he keeps saying is its colour, wow that will catch me extra fish dah
Carbon washers make it more..the ultegra is around 18 kg..the 12000d is far less 12 kg but in thialand for big fish and ebro for cats you won't see these..you see 12000d and the original baitrunners. They all say new ones are weaker but am unsure if thats just old people reacting what they have been told..I do know the penn liveliner spinfisher is rated far higher in max drag but has plated parts that break..okuma optidrag has a higher drag than the tomcat but the optidrag would fall apart with a big catfish. so drag doesnt mean a thing
These reels are just a work of art and a joy to use and look fantastic..I love mine
I use the older version with a silver BBLC spool and I wouldn't replace it with any other, it's a real work of art from this company ;)

Reel handle and arm sucks for such a good reel. I can't decide over this or the Thunnus 12000

it is lighter than the XTA non Ci4+ but heavier than the Ci4+ Xta
not as good as the xta-lc, the spool not as good quality and the reel has 1 less bearing, people are being sold a inferior reel for more money
14000 lc has 640 gramms and 5500 version 500 gramms
