Brilliant! Best overview of Resolve I have seen. Your depth of knowledge, organization, and teaching style are truly remarkable. Can't wait to read your Primal Video Guide
Thank you, I've learnt a lot here, I've been editing using my Android phone and I'm looking at switching to using my laptop for the first time. This video makes me feel I can do it.
Looking to transition from Vegas to Resolve, Vegas crashes too often and doesn't handle 360 video above 4K properly. While I would say I could figure pretty much all this out because they are similar, I still found this to be a great video and the best one I have seen so far. It covers the basics and really includes most of the "hints" that can make the process go from slow to efficient. I guess the next thing for me is to figure out if Fairlight can replace Reaper or Audition as my audio editor so I can do everything in one place. So I'll be sure to look up if you have any tutorials for Fairlight and also Fusion. Most interested in noise removal, compression, normalization, and it looks like your keyframes technique works well for volume automation. Bonus points if you have a reverse ducking chain linked tutorial, so that your VO track as it gets louder it automatically lowers the music backing track levels.
Very good. So good that I slowed it down to 75% playback speed to make sure I could get as much as possible the first run. But I've now saved it and will be coming back to watch it again as I transition from Microsoft Movie maker to a proper editing programme. Well done.
This was so extremely helpful. It will take some time to be able to become completely comfortable but, I just made a very short little video and I am so super happy. I couldn't have done it without your video. Thank you so so much!

Awesome, Justin just downloaded Davinci today watched your video and now im actually working on my first edit. Woohoo, thank you for your quick and easy tutorial! Happy Holidays man.
You're welcome - cheers! 🥂
This is great. One thing driving me crazy though is I don't know how to get back to that split screen with preview on left and working on right. Once you drop the text in, you were just there suddenly and I've been stuck trying to figure that out. Appreciate your help - or anybody's for that matter.
I just installed Davinci Resolve free version and I have to say this is an amazing tutorial. Great teaching and very clear instruction. Thank you, Justin!
So awesome to hear it! You're welcome! 😃
I was chuckling so much at the mini you popping up all over the screen in the first few minutes, and I never stop in the middle of a video to like and comment (I wait until after) but the tiny you with the big thumb warmed my heart and cracked me up, so here ya go! Here's my happy comment, and thumbs up granted! :) Loving the video so far, THANK YOU! :)
So glad you enjoyed it! 😃
Because of this tutorial I learned to use Da Vince Resolve in just 30 minutes! Thank you very much.
You're welcome - awesome, good luck with your edits 😃
thanks for the tutorial it helps a lot your amazing keep doing what your doing!
You’re welcome - glad you found it helpful! 👍
This was great. I The other options were many hours of courses or really fast ones that told you way too much and didn't help at all. This one taught exactly what I needed for basic editing with no BS.
Thank you :)
Simply GREAT tutorial for DaVinci Resolve beginners. Or, even like me, lonstanding users of OTHER editing software seeking to find out how to do the actions we know and love in DaVinci!
Justin, thank you so much for this great tutorial. I watched a lot of tutorials for Davinci Resolve. But this was the first one giving me instructions I need as a beginner.
So glad it helped! Wishing you all the best, Michael! 👍
The little bar in the bottom of the screen is a great addition 👍
When I first used DaVinci Resolve, I just edited in the Cut tab, now I know to how use the Edit tab!
Nice work! All the best with your editing. Justin.
@@PrimalVideo Thanks!
You made your mouse huge as well as gave great visual cues, believe me when I say that my eyes really appreciated that. Thank you for teaching me!
You're welcome - so awesome to hear it! 😊
This is a BEAST of a tutorial! New user, no BS in your video, quick and straight to the point, thank you!!!
You're welcome, Flannel - so awesome to hear it 😊
A first-rate video ! As a long-time Adobe Premier Pro user I was a little frustrated with Resolve at first but now I love it ! Videos like this really help !
So glad it helped 🙏
ive been editing my youtube videos on the built in windows editor and have been looking to upgrade! thank you for this!
You're welcome - good luck with your upgrade! 👍
This is a great tutorial, thanks! I just started editing a couple of month ago and was using iMovie, but now I decided to switch to DaVinci Resolve. I was finding it a bit intimidating until I watched this 🙂
Cool - all the best with your edits, Fil 👍 - Hazel, PV Team
Thank you for this very to-the-point video, without any extra fluff thrown into it. I feel like I learned a lot here.
You're welcome - so glad you've found value in our content! 👍
Brilliant! Best overview of Resolve I have seen. Your depth of knowledge, organization, and teaching style are truly remarkable. Can't wait to read your Primal Video Guide
Thanks - so awesome to hear it 😊
Thank you, I've learnt a lot here, I've been editing using my Android phone and I'm looking at switching to using my laptop for the first time. This video makes me feel I can do it.
You're welcome - good luck! 👍
Great Tutorial Mate, I've used Sony Vegas for 15 years, but now ill be able to start off with some basic Go Pro editing and learn on the go - cheers
Thanks - all the best with your edits! - Hazel, PV Team
Awesome, started to edit my video in DaVinci - and now i feel more comfortable with program. Thank you Justin.
Wow, well done! Keep it up! You're welcome! 👍
i found davinci resolve really overwhelming at first but this gave me a basic idea of it, thanks :)
That's great to hear! You're welcome! 😃
Very good. So good that I slowed it down to 75% playback speed to make sure I could get as much as possible the first run. But I've now saved it and will be coming back to watch it again as I transition from Microsoft Movie maker to a proper editing programme. Well done.
Thanks - good luck with your edits!
This was so extremely helpful. It will take some time to be able to become completely comfortable but, I just made a very short little video and I am so super happy. I couldn't have done it without your video. Thank you so so much!
Well done! You're welcome! 😁
Wow. Thank you! My bmpcc 6k delivers tomorrow and I had a bunch of anxiety with leaving fcpx for braw. A1 tutorial!
Thanks for the tutorial.
Can’t imagine a better summary of the whole brunch of options within Resolve!
You're welcome - glad you enjoyed it!
Just seen some beginners clips ...and this one is the best to get up and running! 👍👍👍
