Do you know how to crop a video? like ik that it is the square to the left but it wont actually let me lock in the crop , or at least I can't figure out how to.

I developed the interest to learn the DR and after watching many tutorials on YT . This is the tutorial that I've kept on my "watch later videos" I'm going to dedicate 24,21 mins almost everyday for at least 2 weeks just to watch it only while i familiarise myself with the screen then another two weeks for learning to edit. Dang you are good, I mean you know your stuff. I started resolve about a year ago and none of the instructors explained things nearly as well as you did. Life happened so I have been away from my editing desk for to long, so I am relearning the editing steps. I have a new computer on the way and plan on buying studio, heck for the price why not. Thank you for making this video. I just downloaded DaVinci and working on my first project. This video has helped immensely, as you know this program can be overwhelming.
A great and easy to understand tutorial which I watched to see if I had covered all the bases. However for a beginner I would definitely use Ctrl/B to make a cut rather than having to use the blade tool. No need to move your mouse and no need to remember to return to the selector (arrow) tool which can create havoc if you forget to switch it back on.

😊I tried Davinci about a year ago because I know that´s what the Big boys use, it was too complicated for me like Black Magic in fact, after a year with windows video editor I had enough. Thanks a bunch saved me alot of time learning the I/O commands. Also, you should include breaking up larger clips into smaller ones or editing out junk works in the same manner

I used Adobe Premiere for many years and then I moved over to an iMac and Final Cut. I've watched your video, excellent and I managed to follow 90% due to your clarity, and it really reminds me of Final Cut in its operations. It looks very flexible the way you can move things around. This fills me full of hope, as before I watched this I was getting a bit anxious about going to a new video editor. Thanks,

Thank you for this video as I gave up on learning DR. I was having issues with loading the media and having it be in the media pool. This video provided simple easy to follow steps and I’ll give DR another try and check out your other videos.
Came and watched this video after cancelling my adobe premiere pro plan, so far I'm very impressed with DaVinci Resolve and the features has most of what I need for editing.
Just got Resolve 19 and thanks to your video training, I see that the basic operation is similar to Camtasia which is cool. It's gonna be a blast! thx!
Excellent starter tutorial! I actually have been an Adobe Premiere user ever since the first version for Windows98 (yeah I'm, that old - actually a lot older). 🙂 The last Premiere edition I bought was CS4 back in 2008 and its no longer viable. I don't get paid for my videos -they are almost all for non-profits and personal use, so no way was I going to spring for the ridiculous cost of Premiere these days. I had never heard of DaVinci until recently, so I am absolutely thrilled with what I see so far! You have a great teaching style and I will be looking for more advanced tutorials from you. Thanks!
A very good tutorial for those who are starting video editing but can be waste of time for those who are expert in premiere pro. If you are someone who likes to take things simple even when switching to new software you should watch this video. It made transition from premiere look very easy. Really nice video.
