I own a different brand fleece made of the same material (polartec alpha120). It's amazing for backpacking, if you use it correctly. General pro's: super light weight, super breathable, super warm when you put a hardshell on top of it (merino baselayer + alpha120 fleece + hardshell worked for me down to about 40-50F, and I mean while being passive / just sitting around). General negatives: it doesn't really stretch much, and most importantly it's quite a fragile material. Can definitely rip, plus it will snag on anything. It also sheds microfibers a bit more easily than your average fleece. I'm very curious about this Rab jacket - looks great!
Amazing fleece. I’ve had mine for a few years. Works so well to breathe and insulate when you’re sweating / working hard. If you’re sweating and it’s cold and windy it’s ideal over just a baselayer. Keeps you warm and the wind helps evaporate the moisture as it wicks.
I love Alpha Direct fabric. It's great as an active layer in cold weather on it's own but is extremely warm for the weight especially when under something that blocks wind.

Thank you for your advice. That's great information. I do like this fleece as well. It's different than the usual fleeces.

Thank you for your comment, it's a nice piece for sure.
