  • Jackets With The Best Warmth To Weight Ratio. These are my top five picks for the warmest, and yet lightest jackets for outdoor and mountain activities. These jackets are also some of the best for packability, easy to carry along with you when not being worn.
    ** Just to note, the Rab Mythic Ultra has 900 FP down, not 850 FP as I mentioned in the video.**

    Great video! I’ve just got the Rab Mythic Alpine which is the next best thing after the Mythic G and I can 100% recommend for those who can’t quite afford the the G. It’s slightly heavier, 900FP and no tilt lining but incredibly similar in its features. I have the Mythic 600 sleeping bag as well and I just don’t think I’ll look anywhere else for warmth to weight ratio now. So warm, so light and so technical. Rab have smashed it with the Mythic series!

      Agreed, Rab does really well with all of their down products. The Mythic lineup is top notch for warmth and lightweight packability. Very well done.

    Nice videos, would like to see the information on the jackets in the description with their prices and a link. You should also try to label each jacket on the video when speaking about it. Keep it up. 👍🏼

      Thank you for the advise. I'll keep that in mind. I just don't like to mention pricing, because prices can change often. So what may be true now, may be misinformation next month.
      On a side note, I like your volleyball logo. I play too, and coach high school boys and girls. I coached club for may years too, but gave that up because I'm not wanting to travel too far anymore for tournaments. My wife plays as well, and both of my kids played in college too. We're a volleyball family!🙂

      @ Yes, I played years ago and coached boys/girls same as you. Small world. I gave it up because my sons graduated and the climate at these school is just too much. Keep up the great stuff. You got a new subscriber!

    Thanks for reviewing and sharing your experience. I have the Rab Mythic Ultra and it’s unbelievably great too. It has 900 fill power down, not 850 😊

      You're right, I didn't catch that, don't know why I said that. I'll make a note in the description.

    Have you reviewed the ghost whisperer 2, the The Stellar Ultralight Down 2.0 or any Montbell jackets? They’re all known to be incredibly light and warm.

      I know of the Ghost Whisperer, just have not yet gotten into the Mountain Hardware stuff, or the Montbell Jackets. I'll check it out. Thanks

    i always wonder is primaloft gold still the best warmth to rate ratio in synthetic insulation.

    • @meandmyjackets
      @meandmyjackets  Месяц назад

      It's very popular, and there are a few different variations of it. It's great for it's warmth, packability, and light weight. Every company uses different insulations that best match the design of the product that they produce. Primaloft is a common choice, and of proven quality.

    Hello sir. Thank you for a great review. But I cannot fine one to buy that will fit me am 6ft3ins tall and my chest is 55" . I see you are also tall. Am from UK. I will like you to help me get a site that sell up to 4xl and also ship to world wide. Thank you again

      Hi, sorry for the delay. 4XL is hard to find, but many companies have options at 3XL. Try Columbia, Even Patagonia should have some at 3XL. Some of the European companies like Helly Hansen may have some pieces, but they generally run a bit smaller. I've found that with A lot of European companies. The other thing to be aware of is that a lot of companies design these jackets with an athletic cut, which means trim. Usually around the mid section. Outdoor Research has larger sizes too, but they too may be too trim. Sorry that I can't be of better help.

    Is the rab generator alpine jacket better than the rab cirrus ultra ?

    • @meandmyjackets
      @meandmyjackets  Месяц назад

      They're very different in designed use. The generator is more of a belay jacket designed to go over the cirrus ultra. The cirrus is a great multi purpose insulation layer for cold days. It can be worn under a shell, (or belay jacket), or stand alone maybe with a fleece layer under it if needed. In general, a really nice winter jacket in the mountains, or around town.
      The generator is versatile too, but really made to be an outer layer for extra wind, snow, and light rain protection in the mountains. It has a bit larger cut for extra room inside to fit extra layers underneath it. It can be worn by itself, but really is designed to fit over other jackets.
      Both are great !
