Me too, he's probably the most creative skater who can actually skate super good who can also do "normal" pro tricks too. That flip back smith at Hollywood high was unreal in his Round 3 part. This part was unreal too
Every time I watch a Chris Haslam part, I find it harder and harder to say he's not my favorite skateboarder..... his tricks are so unique and mind-bending, the creativity is on par to the innovativeness of the 80's and 90's skate-scene, each video is a revelation and a reminder of why I love skateboarding so fucking much!!! 🤘☠️🤘
Word up brother man! It's been about 10 years now since I last skated and when he busted that darkslide shit def got a little emotional. Fuck man I grew up watching Chris rip it up at Richmond skate park in my adolescence and seeing this shit now makes me feel so blessed to be born when and where I was. Haslam's a tru master; he's eliminated all his competition and now skates in a world occupied by one.
I keep a deck in my car, but rarely skate cause I’ve been making Large BMX bikes with front suspension so I was ripping those instead. Problems began... the day before Holloween I bombed a hill, hit a sewer grate, smashed my face, out a tooth into my Lip and got some dissolvable stitches. No Big Deal. Then, Nov 10th, I hit a metal rope that has some give to it, ones they use to keep cars from parking in big concrete lots, I hit one of those mobbing on a bike with no brakes trying to launch this thing, lost speed on some little pebbles and got stuffed by this Metal Thing. Boom. Knocked out, had a homie with me, kinda remember before it happened... basically I woke up 4 DAYS LATER! I was in an ICU and had two brain surgeries back to back, so my head wouldn’t stop my brain from the massive swelling it was undertaking after I smashed that Chain. Thank God it was here in Portland, where they have neurosurgeons that are the finest in the Northwest. I Donely am I not a vegetable or paralyzed, although it took me a minute to start walking again, eight days in the hospital, one month at home and now it’s Christmas and I am completely OK so how. 15 staples in the head, A bunch of non-pain killing medicine, and one hell of a brush of luck, and I’m able to describe this incident. Me too man I feel like crying because Chris haslam was my favorite skater when I was growing up skating , I bought all his glove signature shoes , and this video is just magnificent
This guy is one of a kind. The first trick, the 540 rickflip, whatever nollie pressure craziness happened at 1:20, the nosebonk front foot impossible at 2:03, all of this is signature to his style. That double FS flip over the Besos bar was pretty amazing. It's hard to make an NBD on a spot that famous.
Correct me if I'm wrong but he had a regular fs flip at the same spot in one of his older vids, I think round 3. Pretty dope to get a nbd at a famous spot and one up yourself at the same time.
@2:03 , that is not a nosebonk front foot impossible. A front foot impossible would rotate the opposite direction. It is a nollie fs shove it, late hospital flip.
