It’s 2023 and remember being affected by Dylan’s passing though I didn’t know him personally and only admired him from halfway across the world. I still find myself thinking of him and how he will forever be immortalized on these skate vids.
Kenny Albert the way people skate now are all influenced by Dylan it doesn’t matter how hard the trick is it matters on how clean and stylish you do the trick dylan does everything clean and effortless
I was going through being bullied, my parents were getting a divorce and my grades at school were absolute shit. One day, I got some money for my b'day and I bought Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3. And after that.. I got kicked into a new life. A life where I could meet awesome people, be active all day long and be challenged in a completely different way. Suddenly I had talent and recognition form peers.. I got amazing new friends through skateboarding.. the community knows no jealously, only encouragement and fun. I thank God for giving me light in the form of THPS3 pc game and my first skateboard. -Bless&Love
I rewatch this every year, probably more often than that and it always makes me cry. There's so many talented people whose lives are taken way before they should go and Dylan's one of them.
Rip dear friend, we are all at passage in this planet. I would like to hug you because you had a unique style. My condolence to family and friends, it is never late. You live with us every day. Thanks youtube staff for having me shown what real skateboarding is. Hugs from Rome
My favorite skateboarder. RIP. To this day I continue to watch your skateboarding and for some reason, it speaks to me most when I’m feeling down... thank you Dylan.
How can something be so beautiful and so gnarly at the same time ? This is where skating and art blur together. Every thing in this part is incredible. SO BUMMED that such an amazing unique representative of skateboarding has passed on. Dylan forever.
I miss watching his videos and the only comments were like " damn that impossible " and " this guy has the best style" etc. Now its only flooded w RIPs. Dylan we miss you brother 👍🏻👌🏻🌹
The first ever single video part uploaded for the internet The first ever single video part of a person, outside a brand The first ever heartbroken feeling we had over a skateboarder death ever.
Dylan takes skateboarding and warps it into an art. From the way he lands his tricks to the music he picks, it all rides out so fluidly. He perceives obstacles differently than many other skaters , and hopefully he rubs it off on some newer generations, because this good of style cannot be left to perish.
angel He got a lot of shit when his gravis shoe came out, they called them ballerina slippers. You're ballerina comment made me smile, because its pretty accurate.
Vibes of peace, patience, and grace to name a few are why I believe in this divine within us all. This guy gives me the push to follow his example. One love, one heart, through music and art.
Love of my life left me recently. Through my hurt, I discovered this song, and through this song I discovered Dylan. Sometimes the hardest hurt comes with the biggest blessings.
Just watched this for the first time b/c nine club taked about it. I totally agree with crob. Absolutely without a doubt one of the best video parts ever.
It’s 2022 the first time I’ve watched this part…I got old took a hiatus from skateboarding, happens to all of us at some point. He’s literally the Kurt Cobain of skateboarding, to this day no one can put a part out like that
6:32 There was actually 632 comments before I posted this comment I'm shocked rn. But the billboard in the right quadrant of the shot. Your energy will never be forgotten, always manifested in skateboarding forever.
Oh amazing . What a treat to wake up too. Tom Penny , Gonz ,guys like him and my buddy Ray n Jamie are the reasons why I still skate at 50. Keeps me alive.
In a way this part changed my life. From the way that dylan came back so hard and overcame adversity, to the great song that he chose to symbolize it. Its truly beautiful in my opinion. r.i.p dylan
I’ll never stop coming back to this. Every time it’s almost like seeing it again for the first time. Absolutely beautiful and brilliant in so many ways. RiP Dylan
Man...this guy had so much smooth speed, fluidity and style, and how he could just catch his board with his feet. So many guys teating it up now and this is the first I've heard of him. RIP brother.
I fucking miss seeing Dylan put out parts, when I found out this saint of a man had lukemia it brought me to tears. Dylan was a god at skateboarding and for us to only have him in our lives for the short while he was makes me disown any sort of idea that god exists. Why would "god" allow such a beautiful soul be taken away from life right in the prime of everything he had going on for him. RIP DYLAN you truly are missed hopefully the afterlife has brought you peace and comfort, and if there is a god hopefully you've found the answer to why he needed you with him more than we needed you with us.
Never has a song make me cry such tears of joy for the second song. Better to have longed and lost and care so profoundly that it supercedes any kind of jealousy. So much praise for showing me such awesome people I can respect beyond understanding
Seeing this for the for first time in 2023 and thinking this is pretty good. But then I think again and realize how this is fucking 11 years ago. Dude was light years ahead of anyone. Hope you’re riding in paradise big bro.
Didn’t know who you were when you left this beautiful earth in 2016. Bought your deck anyways in 2023 and I’ve never been happier about owning a skateboard deck. ESPECIALLY one I’m never going to skate. You were the ficking man bro. Rest 🆙
I started cuffing my pants when I saw this part cuz I LOVED Dylan, thought he was the coolest. People made fun of me and teased me about, next year they were all doing. "Joggers" became really big. Thanks for sharing your style and skating, Dylan.
Can't believe I didn't appreciate this enough when he was alive! Now that I sit down and try to enjoy it its one of my favorites so good! Gonna miss no more footage from him, rest in peace Dylan.
RIP DYLAN RIEDER you were an inspiration you had the best style in skateboarding. You were the reason I cuffed my pants and wore them high. You taught me to not give a shit what people thought about me. May you rest in peace Dylan.
The underdog mentality in me has caused me to not appreciate dylan as much as I should have. this is a lesson learned for me. Now that he is gone I am deeply sad and still in shock that such a great talent is gone. Fuck I'm so bummed. Going to try to skate later. Rip Dylan. See ya up there my friend.
I can't believe he's gone. it's so weird to think that never again we will see a video of him skating. We lost a BIG part of skateboarding. but dylan's passing showed me how much of a family, skateboarding actually is. I was amazed that a person's death i did not know would effect me that much. it feels like we lost a brother, simply because he shared the same love we all share. the love for skateboarding. a pace where noone is judged for his skin color, clothing or background. THANK YOU DYLAN FOR REMINDING US THAT WE ARE ONE! Rest in Peace Dylan
This part cuffed the pants of an entire generation.
lol I had cuffed my pants a few months before as I had just moved to Alphabet City with an onion on my belt, as was the style of the times
Old style that got popularised because of him, due to his modelling
I was just thinking about how I literally only cuffed my pants when I was skating cuz I loved Dylan Rieder haha
no
Jim Stolz but they didn’t have white onions so we had to use the big brown ones haha
2024, still watching this masterpiece!

Still best impossible (over NY bench) and fake flip (over handrail) I’ve ever seen. Style and approach was second to none
oh 100 percent. The lift he gets out of the kick flip is insane
Both iconic. Also shotout back smith on that gigantic ledge.
The best front tail kickflip ever done. Any other answer is just wrong
