Austyn and Rieder may both get hate for being "hipsters" (which I guess is an insult) but their skating just has this magical feel to it, and it's fucking captivating. I could watch videos of them for days, it never gets old.
for real though. like are you considered a hipster when you started the trends that are popular in skate fashion nowadays? before them there were like people on earth rocking high waters, now its everyone haha
every time I watch this, it makes me want to draw a picture, get into archaeology, try harder on my skating, educate myself, all together, this is one grand fuckin piece of art right here.
I remember watching this when I was a freshman in 2014 and I fell asleep at the intro woke up to my mom rushing me to get in the car months went by then it finally was recommended to me on RUclips and I was just blown away at how good this fool is
when ever you take a break from skating its mandatory that you stop every skater and tell them how you used to skate and ask them if you can show them how high you stationary ollies are.
Amen bro to that! Ppl come up to use bakersfield skaters asking who's the best. Obviously someone is but its about style and how u choose to do things your own way. Also having fun with the homies.
Now that 3D is gone, I don't know where Austyn is gonna be. He should go back, Habitat days were the best days. His skating has changed yet I think it fits even more than ever before but I'm sure he will end up in WKND skateboards, rad company tho. He likes those brands where he can have an impact just like Huf so it seems natural for him to be there.
Its literally amazing everytime i come to watch this part gives me same vibes as his habitat part feels like your just getting warmed up on cold day to start skating for the entire video much respect to austyn and his insanely unique style in skating.
SEAN QU You have to be comfortable as possible and pop will come naturally. Like when you bend down, and you know the trick so well, you're able to skate aggressively
infectionsman but wouldn't it be "harder" if it was a fs nollie? Cause the bs nollie throws you back, and the ledge was to his back... if he were to do it with a fs nollie it would be hardway or alley oop cause he would have to throw his body against the natural direction of the trick
Nicholas Engelbert Yes it is actually harder to do it with a fs 180 nollie but they call the bs180 nollie hardway. I guess its because the "hardway" term originates from snowboarding
Ikr I just came back to this and thought this was in 2014 or something but 2012?? One of my favourite parts ever makes me wish I kept skating as actively as i was when this came out...
Honestly one of the best video parts I've seen. Really had the whole package, amazing tech and big stuff, great editing and music. All with SO much style. Wow, nailed it, Austyn is on the rise! Killed it.
people see these parts and think that the tricks shown are the best on offer, they are like any other skaters! the majority of there best tricks are never caught on camera, think about it....
I met Austyn Gillette the other day. I kicked him in his shit. Then I cut off his hair and ran off with his skateboard. He was quite bummed. Rumor has it he hasn't skated since because he no longer has a skateboard. These are truths.
Even though Dylan is my bae and it hurts my bootyhole to say this, Austyn is the only person in the skate industry that is better than him. AVE comes close, but he's not as charismatic as Dylan is.
This was exceptional and stands out from alot of the other skate vids I've seen, mainly because of the camera work and editing. The skating is awesome too... very fluid and breezy like. Well done.
Can't believe this is a decade old. Wow.
In hindsight this should’ve won him SOTY.
This is definitely a timeless part. It still looks amazing after more than 5 years.
agreed 100%
@Gucci Mane 4 President Yessir!
Timeless
still amazing
Come check it out again. I just did. Still pretty good.
Don't even skate anymore but I'm coming back here. What a part.
One of my all time favorite parts, still looks great in 2020!
something about his style just makes it seems like he's actually surfing concrete
Austyn and Rieder may both get hate for being "hipsters" (which I guess is an insult) but their skating just has this magical feel to it, and it's fucking captivating. I could watch videos of them for days, it never gets old.
riverfile you don't have to guess being a hipster is about as gay as you can get. These guys aren't hipsters
for real though. like are you considered a hipster when you started the trends that are popular in skate fashion nowadays? before them there were like people on earth rocking high waters, now its everyone haha
Rip Dylan 😕
That was Dylan but people tried copying him in every way
This video sprouted my love for future islands 2 years ago. Love this video!
OMFG U SO HIPSTER MAN CONGRATS
Fuckin A! Seen em live twice, Sam Herring is incredible
This deserves more views. The new generation should watch this video 500 times a day. I'm tired of all these circus clowns.
DaIeDenton 🤣😂
this worked, it got the views it deserved
6 Years later and this is still my Favorite Part !
Still my favorite video after so many years.
One of the best skate videos ever made
You appreciate the music more when it blends well with the skating and editing. This video is timeless.
I ALWAYS COME BACK TO THIS PART.
2023 still my favorite
Austyn, you better fuckin stay alive
Nathan Sinnott 💀💀💀💀💀
Nathan Sinnott He's too stylish to die
Sorry, I'm super late - why is everyone saying they don't want him to die?
Astley Martin because him and Dylan rieder were good friends and a lot alike, Dylan just passed a few months ago to cancer
and also there would be no skaters left to bother watching
Tricks impress kids. Style and power impress everyone who see it. That's all I have to say.
well put my friend. . .well put.
and he has good tricks too
Like a double kickflip vs tweaked ollie
Big facts
Only trues
I have to learn that unorthodox front nose 270, it looks soooo cool!
That was switch
Into the Moat he actually did it regular too 😂
Woeee, Wsp Macie!
Still watching this part , never gets old
Masterpiece still in 2021 even with the playlists 👌🏽
Still watching!
Stay with us Austyn. Skateboarding loves you and I watch this part every day before I skate. I need you :*
Ryan Thompson dude same haha everyday
every time I watch this, it makes me want to draw a picture, get into archaeology, try harder on my skating, educate myself, all together, this is one grand fuckin piece of art right here.
not to mention, saw this band live last year, I get it all now. #hemlockernst
This part is still so good today
Austyn been crawling up may alItime favorite list
3:35 is obviously an optical illusion
This is my favourite ledge trick of all
austyn is one of my favorite the way he puts it down its phenomenal, really cosistant and his style he makes skateboarsing feel like your free.
this song works perfectly with this edit
its 2020, a lot in my life has changed, I stopped skating due to life serious injuries but ill always come back to this video !
The fact that this has 100+ dislikes is just stupid. This is some GNARLY skating.
Frontside half cab to back smith! So gnarly and creative. damn.
more then one year old.. Still one of the best part in my mind
More than 11 years old... still one of the best parts!
0:30 Future Islands - Tin Man
4:12 Vetiver - Strictly Rule
I have to say that austyn is the switch god
I remember watching this when I was a freshman in 2014 and I fell asleep at the intro woke up to my mom rushing me to get in the car
months went by then it finally was recommended to me on RUclips and I was just blown away at how good this fool is
as a shame to say I've fallen away from skating a while ago but this part inspires me. Really enjoyed this REAL skateboarding
when ever you take a break from skating its mandatory that you stop every skater and tell them how you used to skate and ask them if you can show them how high you stationary ollies are.
one of my favorite videos
Loved him since my first view of his cruising stoner video
4:28 best backside flip of all time
7 and a half minutes of pure gold.
people can´t compare skaters because it doesn't reallz depend of the trick that the person do. its all about the style.
Amen bro to that!
Ppl come up to use bakersfield skaters asking who's the best.
Obviously someone is but its about style and how u choose to do things your own way.
Also having fun with the homies.
Frank Müller Ikr, i'm better than him.. i got such a sick style..
PREACH
Jason J Nah. It’s about style.
Now that 3D is gone, I don't know where Austyn is gonna be. He should go back, Habitat days were the best days. His skating has changed yet I think it fits even more than ever before but I'm sure he will end up in WKND skateboards, rad company tho. skate mental
well you were right
wknd already xD
w27 w27 Who's in your profile pic? I see that pic a lot around in the RUclips comment section of skate videos
back on habitat lmao
great song selection
Its literally amazing everytime i come to watch this part gives me same vibes as his habitat part feels like your just getting warmed up on cold day to start skating for the entire video much respect to austyn and his insanely unique style in skating.
So refreshing to watch skateboarding like this. Makes me wanna hug my board.
I cut the collars off my white shirts because he looks so god damn good in them
Cmon you can look good in them too lol
I did that too after watching this a few years back. Was soo in to Austyn and Dylan's styles.
Cant get tired of this!
seriously, how the fuck does he pop so high
You just gotta be high all the time
You just gotta be high all the time
SEAN QU You have to be comfortable as possible and pop will come naturally. Like when you bend down, and you know the trick so well, you're able to skate aggressively
Arturo hernandez You feel me
I will never get over how much I adore this video.
Why can't I like this like a million more times?! Can't stop watching!
3:35 wow that nollie hardway back 180 switch 5050 hardway 180 out.... who would have thought to see that done in skateboarding
The nollie wasn't hardway.
Nicholas Engelbert
well it isnt the nollie that defines the hardway, only the bs rotation in relation to the bs grind. Yes its stupid, i know...
infectionsman but wouldn't it be "harder" if it was a fs nollie? Cause the bs nollie throws you back, and the ledge was to his back... if he were to do it with a fs nollie it would be hardway or alley oop cause he would have to throw his body against the natural direction of the trick
Nicholas Engelbert Yes it is actually harder to do it with a fs 180 nollie but they call the bs180 nollie hardway. I guess its because the "hardway" term originates from snowboarding
Nicholas Engelbert fs is for sure much easier then bs. try them and see
2016 The best videopart
Ikr I just came back to this and thought this was in 2014 or something but 2012?? One of my favourite parts ever makes me wish I kept skating as actively as i was when this came out...
If this was filmed vx, it would probably be the best part ever
Stiil is my favorite videopart. What a style!
Honestly one of the best video parts I've seen. Really had the whole package, amazing tech and big stuff, great editing and music. All with SO much style. Wow, nailed it, Austyn is on the rise! Killed it.
iwant to learn fs noseslide 270 out now
***** my favourite ledge trick right there
really awesome! This was filmed in Porto right?
im pretty sure it was filmed in a variety of places, hence the intro
And Leiria too. you can see the castle
FUTURE ISLANDS - TIN MAN :D
I've literally watched this part like 20 times.
I randomly skated with this dude yesterday at this L.A spot. He is super chill and not cocky at all.
Like wine
I wonder if that girl is still running
Legend has it , she was running from her abusive ex boyfriend
One of my favorite parts ever. But besides the very last song, does anyone know what the first two songs are?!?!?
If you ever watched your "favorite part" to the end, you would notice that the song names are listed in the video.
Haha yes literally right after I posted that I noticed the songs were listed at the end. my bad I guess aha.
brilliant part - i really like the fact that so much power goes to his back foot before the pop goes down. also a perfect music selection
My new favorite skate video.I read about Austyn Gillette on Transworld skate mag, this guy is pretty awesome.Really great video editing too.
RIP Dylan
This man and dylan rieder are fucking similar.
Great skaters.
SOTY 2016 ?
One of the most solid and flawless video parts I've seen in a while.
this should just be the official music video for this song. it fits perfectly
6:25 running from responsibilities
something about this shot is mesmerizing lol
people see these parts and think that the tricks shown are the best on offer, they are like any other skaters! the majority of there best tricks are never caught on camera, think about it....
Why would he be doing better stuff than this and NOT documenting it?
*****
Probably because he skates for fun face it filming is pretty burdensome to a skater
Damn Gillette is so good!
This video and Riley. Will forever be my favorite video parts. Such good style and insane pop
one of the best part ever, in my opinion. Such a sick style.
tooo much style :)
1:01 suomi mainittu torilla tavataan
I feel like street league has ruined skateboarding.
STOP being gay and go skate
@@comercioduarte5708 damn right who cares if you love skating go skate no matter what it has become
Treesfps That sucks that you feel that way.
2018 and i still think this is the best part in years!!
Love parts like this, we need more of them. You can just kick back, relax, and watch some damn impressive skating.
I met Austyn Gillette the other day. I kicked him in his shit. Then I cut off his hair and ran off with his skateboard. He was quite bummed. Rumor has it he hasn't skated since because he no longer has a skateboard. These are truths.
What was the name of that first song? Please and thank you
Future Islands-"Tin Man"
thanks buddy!!
Austyn needs to go back to habitat ! Habitat fitted him best
Mark Suciu and him in the same team... DAMN.
What team is he on now?
Falryx Swiftblade 3D skateboards
I've lost count of how many times I've seen this now, its so good!
I enjoy so much watching this guy skating, feels so free
Dylan reider jr
SEAN QU you know that Dylan got cancer right?
wtf r u saying
SEAN QU he's saying that Dylan doesn't skste anymore because he has cancer which is true
therealstaccss Rest In Peace Dylan reider :(
Even though Dylan is my bae and it hurts my bootyhole to say this, Austyn is the only person in the skate industry that is better than him. AVE comes close, but he's not as charismatic as Dylan is.
Grant Taylor?
Austyn should of stayed in one direction
Even when, he still got his own style. Probably one of the best footage I've ever seen from him.
This was exceptional and stands out from alot of the other skate vids I've seen, mainly because of the camera work and editing. The skating is awesome too... very fluid and breezy like. Well done.
this is one of my favourite parts of late, been watching it so much since it came out
the switch ollie at 3:44 was probably the coolest thing ive ever seen on a skate board
I always return to this part. My all time favorite.
5 years later, still returning.
Seriously one of the best video parts I've seen in awhile with some pretty creative tricks
Still my favorite video part.
Just now I realized Mark Suciu landed the ollie that Austyn tried 06:08 Amazing 🙏
Sean Malto hit that too, right?!
@@TheSimpelsimon I dont know bro
