Dill and AVE were close to Dylan, and they still picked up Berle. If it was really offensive I’m pretty sure the would of addressed the issue by now. It’s skateboarding, we’ve seen every style under the sun. You can’t blame the dude for being influenced. To be honest you can say the same about Austyn style as well. I feel like there’s plenty of skater that took a page out of Dylan’s style. Dylan was so influential while he was here.
Theres a big dif from influenced and shifting your whole style, at the skate park you can see the kids who are influenced and who just takes the whole style. obviously no one is going to stop Berle but we all see what he's doing it.

also important to remember is that before dylan, a lot of known skaters had variations of that style, including dill, boulala, greco and so on and so forth. its something that has been around for a long time, so i dont get the issue

Met Austyn in Europe at the skateshop I work at. We had some exhibition going on with him. Spent some time as he arranged everything, the prints and decoration and stuff. He was such a chill and humble dude. He is very introverted though so I can figure how someone who loves loud people doesn’t get that.

I think influences are a normal thing in life . Think of Greco and Bulala when they got influenced by Sid vicious . They were trying to relate to how they felt and how they wanted to express them selfs and gravitated to that style . That’s what made them feel them selfs and that’s what it’s all about. Perhaps the phrase “influenced” can sometimes have a negative connotation specially in skateboarding but it’s part of life and natural progression and to evolve. Dog town was influenced by surfing , bones brigade by dog town etc etc. it’s almost a sign of respect or admiration to be influenced by someone . Nobody can say they didn’t have some kind of influence in anything haha unless you are the first human ever and that sounds awful to learn everything on your own.

It’s funny, I never even saw Berle as “taking” Dylan’s style. Because you can obviously tell it’s not even close to Dylan’s style. It’s not even comparable because Dylan’s style is one of a kind that nobody can truly emulate what he has done.

I loved dylan for a very long time and honestly I think Gillette would’ve been a better pickup than Berle or a good pickup along Berle, I like both Gillette and Berle personally so it sucks seeing Berle act this way but Berle is definitely straight up replicating dylan and Gillette is just on the same ride that dylan was so he ended naturally ended up with a similar skate style, I think it’s shitty that some people hate on someone for not having these certain sponsors. I think they dress similar but Dylan had more of an Outsiders greaser look to him. But Austyn is a bit more like a random fashion style. The way he dresses kinda suits him though since he plays indie/folk style music. Elijah definitely leans on the greaser look that Dylan had.
