Some say that General Hague *wasn't* actually killed while fighting against Clark Loyalist forces. Instead, they claim that he was arrested on Earth while trying to lead a coup of his own by one Captain Benjamin Lafayette Sisko.
I deeply love the B5 story and show but this is one of the things that bugged me over the years. Clark would never have been on EF1. For security reasons a Vice President and President travel on different transports.

It's nice of the President to issue his martial law directive using the Serpentine typeface - the same one used in the show's titles. Excellent choice, Clark.

@@travisbishop782 The space station thing was already established but DS9 from season 2 onward was them literally having to compete for ratings hence they pivoted in to the dominion/kardashian war. Ask any DS9 fan why the show suddenly turned away from wormhole exploration to full on galactic war. I mean seriously they had like 5-10 episodes about species coming from the wormhole that apperantly was completely over run by the dominion. I mean they blew up a Galaxy Class that was exploring the Alpha quadrant to for shadow the new enemy. I also don't understand why the domion didn't simply bypassed romulan space since they had a treaty with the romulans apperantly. Well before the romulans decided to join the federation to get to earth but instead kept sitting at a killbox wormhole that had self replicating mines around it. In B5 it made sense as jumpgates were the main means of travel where as in startrek independant warp travel was their way to go.
Very small nitpick, didn't Sheridan's old ship actually intercept the Whitestar after the shadow ship was destroyed at Ganymede? Apologies if I am misremembering.
I know it likely never got the numbers that shows like Star Trek did, but if it managed to get five seasons plus spin-offs, then B5 can't really be called underrated, right? 🤔
For a show that got shipped around networks with a budget of only 10% DS9 had and still managed to compete with it for ratings i'd say they earned the title of underdog.
Just for the record. The Churchill rammed the Roanoke, and crippled her slightly, and then Babylon-5 finished her off. The Agrippa was destroyed by the Alexander when Major Ryan closed in and hit her broadside with their particle beam. The narrator claims that the Churchill rammed the Agrippa, and both explode in a fireball, which is not the case, as you can see that the Agrippa was still in the fight after the Churchill’s destruction. Ivanova’s disabled Starfury slams into it when she ejects. Details People! Doesn’t anybody pay attention anymore.
Star Trek indirectly introduced me to Babylon 5. A Fanfiction writer by the name of AlbertG wrote an outstanding crossover between the two, and one of the first substantive events is the Battle of Babylon 5. The inflection point was specifically as Clark reinforcements showed up, and cemented by love for not just the crossover, but also Babylon 5 as a whole. The following exchange is a bit long, and far longer than what occurred in canon, but a fun read nonetheless. It is always so satisfying seeing these space fascists have their asses handed to them on a silver platter. ---Onboard the Evanston, the communications officer expected and received an answer to his Captain's hail. But he was looked perplexed and somewhat surprised by what came over the radio link. "Sir? We're receiving a hail." "So. What is it?" he snapped. "Are they surrendering?" He hoped it wasn't true because he was already feeling vaguely disappointed. "We're having trouble with the video feed, but it's from the white ship." Comms piped it thru. "This is Captain Jean-Luc Picard onboard the USS Enterprise," the voice said. "Babylon Five is under our protection. You will stand down and leave Babylon Five space or we will open fire and evict you from this area. Respond." How dare they interfere with this mission! Irritated, Captain Drake punched his comm-link. "Negative. We have authority here. Do not force us to fire on you, Enterprise." That was an Earth name he realized. Earth Intelligence was correct in their assessment. This may very well be a Human-run vessel. Who was this 'Captain' Picard? Logic suggested that this was one of Sheridan's secret weapons. To his navigator and weapons officers: "Proceed and target that ship if they even twitch." Interference would not be tolerated. "Affirmative, sir." As the Captain requested readout of the ship from tactical, he found the analysis strange, but impressive. How Sheridan's people managed to build a ship of that size without anyone getting wind of it was a mystery. But one thing was clear; that configuration was something no Human mind would produce. It was designed as a large saucer with three pylons, one large and two small connected by struts of various sizes. The overall saucer shape suggested a cobra with its hood spread. The lettering was clearly in English, USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D. There appeared to be no thrusters and how it moved was a mystery. The overall mass of the ship was four hundred meters smaller than a heavy Hyperion-class destroyer. It was six hundred forty-one meters in overall length and there appeared to be no visible weapons ports open that they could tell. Some sort of distortion field was reflecting his Omega class Destroyer's deep scans. Its Captain sounded Human but it was clearly some type of deception, most likely by Sheridan's people. If he was Human, then he was another traitor. Well, it was not going to work. Already his Breeching pod was heading towards the Babylon station and other than this one little alien ship, a battered B5, the remains of the Churchill and a few Star Furies there was nothing to stop him and his five Destroyers from accomplishing his goal. He opened the comms channel again. "Enterprise, you will surrender your vessel immediately or we will disable or destroy it." He decided to make this Picard sweat by calling his bluff. Without waiting, he switched to inner-fleet comms. "Open a channel to our fleet," he ordered. "Channel open, Sir." "To all ships," Drake announced. "The Evanston and Rochester will neutralize the Enterprise threat. To the Nimrod and Pournelle, subdue the Alexander, and Lenmark escort the Breeching Pod to B5 and give it cover. All ships will converge on B5 after we have completed our initial tasks. Let's make this happen people." "Lieutenant Hung, steer us to that Captain Picard's ship. I want it out of the way as soon as possible." The Captain of the Evanston fully expected the ship to turn tail and run. And if not, then two to one was never good odds for someone to play with. "Fire as soon as you get into range." "Targeting." "Sir," the radar officer said, his voice raised. "They're moving towards us." Captain Drake looked at the white ship growing larger in his window by the second. "So be it. Lock on and fire as soon as we're in range." It was a shame that they would have to shoot holes in such a pretty ship, but when you played with fire, you got burnt.
This episode was 12, not 14, years after the Earth Minbari Was (season 1 intro says 10 years & this was season 3). Sheridan was called Starkiller, not for surviving a battle, but because he destroyed the Black Star.
I been rewatching B5 and really wish there was a better way for the B5 crew getting the transmission between Clark and Morden besides "The Great Machine is able to get transmissions from the past somehow". Maybe this was a clue to the events of "War Without End" but still it's such a random thing.
One thing that really bugs me is when media journalists write articles about the rise of long story arc television, displacing the previous overwhelming preference for stories told in a single episode (with the occasional two-parter). They will rattle on about The Sopranos, or The West Wing, or Murder One. They will hardly ever mention Babylon Five, even though it predated all of them and was more ambitious in its long-form plotting than any of them. It's hard to know whether this is driven primarily by genre snobbery or by sheer ignorance.
That shadow vessel wasn't activated to defend Ganameed. The people in Ganameed station was alright sending someone inside it before the white star even got their attention but the rest of Sol did respond to the white star Intrusion with the EAS Agamemnon. And the older to place by 105 under the nightwatch came from the political office. Though it had ties to the President. They could not give military personnel orders.
Excellent summary of one of the most interesting stories within the saga of Babylon 5! A shame you got a BS copyright strike, clearly every bit of this video is for discussion, and much of it transformative. Fight the strike, it will drop off.
DeLenn's speech to the EA task force is still one of the best moments of ANY TV series I've seen. This episode in particular was well written, well paced and is just one of those moments when you know history is being made. Awesome episode. It will always be one of my favorites.
Well I hope you're happy... I'm going to have to go rewatch all of Babylon 5 now... on the other hand, Thanks I'm going to go rewatch all of Babylon 5 now... Have a good day!
I think the biggest mistake of the Battle of Babylon 5 was the fact that Delenn didn't order the Earthforce ships to surrender. If you think about it the ships likely weren't maned only by Loyalists but instead would've had many people only following orders out of fear if you could force surrender & through fear of the Minbari you could likely have gained a few extra Earthforce warships for the war ahead. I believe if the 2nd ship hadn't been exploded in the initial battle you'd have found a few loyalist troops who'd defect to Sheridan's crew. I am guessing any remaining Fighters after the 2 earthforce destroyer's where destroyed would've either defected or surrendered. As I am certain they would slowly be filled with doubt by the events. The best tool of oppressors is ignorance & fear but if you remove these factors you are able to get those who are bystanders to act against the oppressors.
The Shadow vessel immediately sensed the Vorlon technology in the White Star and attacked from instinct. After first destroying what was "holding it prisoner", Ganymede base. lol
man, Earth Forces only had to take one look at those ships...and hear Delinn's threat to run like the wind. So much for that Senator's claim the Earth forces could take on the Minbri

They did, I probably should have phrased that differently.
Nicely done, RIP the dear departed. Many lessons for today's world.
Thank you Mac.
Because I love Babylon 5 😊👍
I know it likely never got the numbers that shows like Star Trek did, but if it managed to get five seasons plus spin-offs, then B5 can't really be called underrated, right? 🤔
For a show that got shipped around networks with a budget of only 10% DS9 had and still managed to compete with it for ratings i'd say they earned the title of underdog.
Still the best TV scifi show, with such memorable characters - nice work Mac!
I actually thought Sheridan was placed there by/under order of Clark in the beginning ? But it was actually against Clark ?
The general picked him because he looked loyal to Clark but wouldn't be.
Sheridan was a war hero and Clark wanted a tough guy to exert Earth’s agenda but Hague gave him a different assignment.
Aha, I see now. Yeah, on paper Sheridan would look like an Earth-first and anti-alien hero based on his accomplishment of blowing up the Blackstar
Great Video! Are you going to do videos on the Shadow War and Earth Alliance Civil War?
Outstanding documentary ❤
B5 is still the best of all the sci-fi series kof the 80s 🤟😎
Problem with that statement, it came out in the '90s.
1993-1998
Prince Alexander! Nice Easter egg.
THANK YOU! I was wondering if the overlap between Kings Quest & B5 fans was enough for someone to get it.
@@MacsLore Yes, sir! Thanks for the work you're doing.
I love the eas churchill had a Darjeeling emblem
the speech by delene on guarding B5 is easily one of the most badass speeches, just ever
Great work @MacsLore. This looked great and was awesome. Getting the ship models makes this a notch above the rest in quality.
It's also a good way to go insane as a one-man dev team, but I certainly can't argue with the results.
@@MacsLore that it man. As a one man creator you need all the help you can get.
yay more B5 content! love!
Always had an issue with Delenn's line
It implies that nobody of the rank of Captain survived the Battle of the Line
To live and Die in Starlight.
"Sir? We're receiving a hail."
"So.
Respond."
How dare they interfere with this mission!
"Affirmative, sir."
As the Captain requested readout of the ship from tactical, he found the analysis strange, but impressive.
"Channel open, Sir."
"To all ships," Drake announced. "The Evanston and Rochester will neutralize the Enterprise threat. To the Nimrod and Pournelle, subdue the Alexander, and Lenmark escort the Breeching Pod to B5 and give it cover. All ships will converge on B5 after we have completed our initial tasks. Let's make this happen people."
"Lieutenant Hung, steer us to that Captain Picard's ship. I want it out of the way as soon as possible." The Captain of the Evanston fully expected the ship to turn tail and run. And if not, then two to one was never good odds for someone to play with. "Fire as soon as you get into range."
"Targeting."
"Sir," the radar officer said, his voice raised. "They're moving towards us."
Captain Drake looked at the white ship growing larger in his window by the second.
Awesome content and video. Well done!
The Pilot Babylon 5 The Gathering debuted in 1993. The 1st Episode also debuted in 1993.
Deleen's speech was epic. "Withdraw...... or be destroyed!" Ooooooh chills down the spine.
I been rewatching B5 and really wish there was a better way for the B5 crew getting the transmission between Clark and Morden besides "The Great Machine is able to get transmissions from the past somehow". Maybe this was a clue to the events of "War Without End" but still it's such a random thing.
I just recently got done watching B5. I always thought BSG remake was the best scifi until I finally watched B5.
After first destroying what was "holding it prisoner", Ganymede base. lol
Really appreciate the B5 content. Can't wait to see more. Subscribed.
Absolutely fantastic! More B5! Damnit, take my money and give me more B5!
I wonder if #45 got some ideas from this show? Nah, he's not that smart. B5 is what Star Trek should have been.
how did this masterpiece come out of 90s network television? I still can't wrap my head around it.
This was really the best sci-fi show out there. Such a good story, so many amazing characters. It is a shame the the network kept f'ing with them.
I liked the way you told the story. Babalon5 was a show that had amazing writing. This wasn't even one of the good parts lol.
man, Earth Forces only had to take one look at those ships...and hear Delinn's threat to run like the wind. So much for that Senator's claim the Earth forces could take on the Minbri
I love this show!!!!
For my money Severed Dreams is still the single best hour of TV ever. I was getting ready to go out on a date when it was airing but after 15 minutes i canceled the date to watch it. To this day after seeing her on facebook years later i made the right choice.
The number of starring cast members in this show who have already passed away is shockingly high. 😟
Think you need to rewatch some episodes and recheck some facts because even though it’s a good vid, a lot of little facts are wrong
That poster of Clark as some sort of he-man superman reminds me of the MAGAt cult.
Gawd... I miss this show. Sadly over half of the cast are no longer with us.
